Determined to restore its natural beauty, we transitioned from sheep to cattle farming and embraced regenerative agriculture techniques. While our efforts are still evolving, native trees and grasses are steadily making a comeback, and even the persistent weeds are now contributing to soil health, creating a more resilient ecosystem. We offer a variety of camping options, with plans to expand our facilities in the future. Although our current amenities are modest and may not be ideal for young children, improvements are on the horizon. In addition, firewood is available for purchase, and we often have a surplus of fresh produce to share—just ask. Whether you’re a family looking for a safe, fun spot for the kids, a couple seeking a peaceful getaway, a group of friends, or a keen angler chasing your next catch, you’ll feel right at home here. Book a site and the entire space is yours. Each site is private, can fit a large number of campers, and is set apart from the other sites, guaranteeing ample space and privacy. Riverside: The first campsite, with a spacious flat lawn and rustic shade shelter, just 20 metres from a beautiful sandy river beach. Rocky River: The second site is set in a peaceful bush area only 20 metres from the river. This shady, tranquil spot is a favourite for those wanting a natural camping experience. The Pines: Located near the end of the property, around 600 metres beyond Riverside and Rocky River. This flat, shaded and secluded bush site sits roughly 40 metres from the river. With loads of open space and flat ground. Far End: As the name suggests, Far End sits right at the very end of our property and offers the utmost peace and privacy. This flat, shaded campsite is just 10–20 metres from the river and surrounded by trees, making it a favourite among returning guests. Nearby attractions: -Lake Buffalo for watersports and fishing -Bright and Myrtleford for bike trails, cafes and markets -Mount Buffalo and Mt Hotham for hiking or snow trips -The famous King Valley Wine Region Whether stargazing by the fire, fishing at dawn, or exploring the High Country, Buffalo River Retreat offers space, serenity, and a welcoming atmosphere for an unforgettable stay. Absolutely SENSATIONAL. Perfect weekend away. 10/10 for everything 4 of us went away with my reactive dog and Matine could not have been more warm, welcoming and accomodating to us! It can be tricky not knowing where we’re camping with Bruce but he was having the time of his life and so we’re we! The sites are far enough apart that you really do feel like you’ve got your own secluded spot for relaxing and really soaking in all of the nature that surrounds you. Waking up to the kookaburras laughing and listening to the creek babbling beside us, What a truly magical weekend away. We will be back so very soon! Mikki, Amber, Jemma, Dale and sweet pup Bruce

Gorgeous spot, right on the creek. Warm welcome and easy check in. Well maintained, mostly flat space, fenced for extra piece of mind for the dog. Toilet was very clean and a short walk from the site. All sites are well separated. We had a great weekend getaway and can't wait to come back with friends. Thank you.

We loved camping at Glenmaye Farm. We booked the Highside Family site for 9 people, plenty of room for big tents (we had a couple 10 person tents which fit with all the rest of our cars and tents around). Compostable toilet system nice a simple. Walking up the paddock, we got an amazing view of the whole area. Swimming in the river/waterfall was so nice, plenty of different little pool areas along the river. Walk from our campsite (the furthest?) was less than 15mins, required climbing up some rocks and along fallen trees but was simple to navigate. Nice to not feel like we were on top of other groups, as the sites were spread out. Matine greeted us and showed us around the property and our site. Overall a great spot!

Attended at a quiet early week time, so many camps to choose from, they all had a fire pit, a rake for ashes, n tons of room. So peaceful and heaps of wildlife, kangaroos can come up right near your van. Heaps of birds incl emus. With the closed gate at entrance felt very secure, even leaving stuff out on day trips. Hosts are very nice people, recommend this stay, we will be back..

We had a very peaceful stay. Fire pit was great to use, bathroom was clean and private (such a camping luxury!) and the waterfall and rocks were a short enough walk that our four year old could easily manage. Matine was a great host, met us and helped us find the site.

Lovely level grassy area not far from town but feels like you are just surrounded by farmland. Very peaceful place with the occasional visit from Daisy ( beautiful dog). Wayne was easy to deal with. Would highly recommend.

We loved our stay at Old Man Grampians. We had our own site away from other vans and it was lovely looking out to the Grampians. You will wake up to Emus, Kangaroos, Deer and the birds. Would definitely recommend if your planning a visit to the Grampians.

Our gazebo kept the flies at bay with Matine providing trestle tables and seating for 16, allowing us spend this afternoons 'grazing' and enjoying a sip. A beautiful part of our world

Best hip camp, the place is so peacefull and even with other campers there, you didn’t hear from them as we were far enough away. We could pick any site when we got there and had our Firepit. John a Greta were so helpful and friendly. Don’t waste your money staying in town this place is only 10 minutes away.
