Koalas and kangaroos move between the Shady Gully Creek in the Reserve and nearby Parkland. Shady Gully Caravan Park offers a range of powered and unpowered sites, as well as a variety of cabins and an ensuite site. The surrounding area is peppered with trails, hiking and bike tracks, and has locations providing easy access to Croajingalong National Park. Mallacoota is renowned for its Estuary and ocean fishing and prawning during the summer months. This campsite is set on 100 acres of farm land with a mix of pasture and bushland. There is a little river running through the end of the property, and you're welcome to throw a rod in of take your canoe for a paddle. We are located 2 minutes' drive away from the Big Koala and 30km from the Grampians National Park, a must on your list of places to visit. If you're up for an explore of the region we're 35 minutes' away from Halls Gap and the zoo, 43 minutes from McKenzies Falls and 45 minutes from the Ararat Hills National Park where you can enjoy mountain bike trail riding. The site has flat, grassy ground. Campfires permitted (wood provided) and you can bring your own generator. This campsite suits self-contained campers with own camping toilet/shower amenities and supplies (water). Rubbish facilities are provided. Dogs welcome, but they must not hassle the other animals.

Nestled right beside the Murrundini River, all 3 campsites are beside the river, and well spaced apart for privacy and peace. Campsite 2 (site two) is shady, surrounded by tall swamp gums, black wood wattles and tree ferns. This spot is at its best from late spring through to autumn . Site One is a large flat area beside the river that is good all year round. It has fencing and gates, perfect to let dogs run free without going too far. Site 3 (Craig's flat), is a large open campsite, able to take more camper-vans/ tents with plenty of space. All sites have fire places and gas BBQ's (byo gas bottle) And there are plenty of fish for those that want to try their luck. The original home stead (built in 1876) burnt down in the 2009 black Saturday fires. There still remains many 150+ year old elms and other European trees near the toilet block, which are delightful in autumn. We have some fantastic views from the hill up and down the Murundindi Valley, especially at sunset. We're located only a few short km's from Wilhelmina Falls and Murundindi Scenic Reserve, you get the best part of the river, without the crowds. We are a short drive from Melbourne, and easy access to the townships of Yea and Yarra Glen for supplies if you need them. Amazing, abundant and rare bird life to enjoy and photograph. (see guests photos). With no light pollution this is the ideal spot for star gazing.

A beautiful piece of countryside. The fenced site allowed our dogs to roam just enough. So many native birds, and the river is mesmerising if cold in your feet.

A lovely campsite! We had the whole paddock to ourselves right by the river. Flushing toilet was only a short walk away but not too close! Mick was helpful, friendly and a quick responder via the app. We’ll be back with friends!

This place is just perfect if you want a getaway from the city and really experience what camping feels like. The host was also very kind, and I would come back without thinking twice. One thing I do recommend is bringing your own grill, because the ones they provide are rusty and it’s not a good idea to cook something like a barbecue on them.

Well maintained area. Loved that it is surrounded by the river, just few steps away! Just be careful of the narrow roads towards the retreat especially when doing turns. Will definitely be back.

We had a great time at Ferny Glades. Clean and tranquil listening to the river while sitting around the campfire. Michael was helpful and upbeat. It was easy to find and we fitted our van there easily. We will be back.

Steven’s property was really beautiful and just the right amount of size so we didn’t feel overwhelmed. There was a flushable toilet, a little shower available 1 night and really nice to light a fire. Steven came and said hi and checked in - it was a really peaceful spot.

If you want to be a short drive from the Grampians but want more quiet and space then camping in Halls gap, this place is great. We are completely self sufficient so we were able to park a long way from any other campers. Kids were able to explore the land, throw some yabbie nets in the damn with success and ride their bikes. Ample free fire wood. Basic flushable toilet and hot shower available. Steven was a very friendly host and quick to respond to messages.
