Escape to a private cottage in the rainforest, with a cosy wood fire, views to the forest and birds visiting your verandah. Take a rainforest walk, stop at the local cafe, then back to your cottage for a massage, reading a book, sipping wine, a romantic candlelit meal, port and chocolates - how much more relaxing can it get? These are cottages only (no camping). Our cottages are fully self-contained with cooking facilities, full bathroom, fireplaces, verandah overlooking the forest, comfortable beds and all linen provided. Mount Glorious has a cafe and a restaurant open during the day. There is no evening dining. A local chef will provide meals to your cottage (prior bookings necessary). Contact us for details. Turkey's Nest is just 40km from Brisbane CBD - close to the city, yet a world away! Turkey's Nest is a wildlife refuge under the Land for Wildlife scheme, pets are not permitted.

White Gum Cottage
What a beautiful slice of paradise. This cottage is completely private and very quiet. If you are looking to get away from it all this is your place. The cottage has such charm and character and it was so lovely reading the story of the cottage history and all the environmental considerations both when building the cottage and ongoing. We had some lovely feathered and furry visitors which added to the charm and the provided bird seed for the cockatoos was a great touch. We had a very comfortable relaxing stay and will definately be back.

A must visit location
Macadamia Rainforest Suite
Loved the cozy get away at the Macadamia Lodge. Being able to disconnect from the world and enjoy each other's company was just what we needed to hit pause on our busy lives. No social media, no news, no rushing around. Just relaxing. The boardgames provided were more than enough to keep us entertained and the fireplace was warm enough for the whole room well into the night. Was a very successful surprise birthday get away for us and we definitely highly recommend visiting! If you're one to enjoy a movie or two, Rosemary and Russell are more than happy to provide a tv and DVD player.

Rose Gum Cottage
It was so nice to stay in this cottage. Excellent environment and deep rain forest. The property is built in the middle of deep forest surrounded by big trees and bush. The cottage is the ideal design of old home. Totally refreshing and very cozy. Strongly recommend.

The cottage is well situated in the forest. The fireplace is a highlight, making the cottage such a cozy home. The visit of a Lorikeet was a big surprise in the morning of our last day. He is a very fussy eater, only ate the black seeds. The furniture is a bit old and a bit smelly inside the bedroom, maybe it is a bit too humid.

Macadamia Rainforest Suite
The cabin was cozy, beautiful and well maintained, everything was well explained and designed to make someone's stay fantastic. The property had lush gardens, a lovely walking track and the hosts Rose and Russell were excellent. Will definitely want to come back.

A perfect peaceful get away

Our stay here was a delight. It was exactly what we needed. Peaceful and so comfy. The fireplace was fabulous and being surrounded by trees was relaxing. No internet, no tv, and just nature. We loved it. The host were kind and responsive.

A cosy getaway in the rainforest
Macadamia Rainforest Suite
A lovely stop to relax with some amazing wildlife around. Macadamia Rainforest Suite is attached to the main house, but still felt private. Lots of thoughtful touches to make you feel welcome, and we loved the view. Fantastic bit of rainforest with a private walking track to explore; we even saw a Long-nosed Bandicoot on dusk!

Rose Gum Cottage
Absolutely loved this experience! Rosemary & Russell have really thought of everything! from giving you all the basics such as cooking utensils and cleaning gear to going that little extra step and supplying bird seed, games, music, firewood, candles, soaps, books and plenty more to keep you comfortable and relaxed during the stay, there is no TV which i had no complaints myself as it was nice to switch off from the world, this cabin is quite close to the main house but still incredibly private, thank you for this experience it was amazing!

Awesome cabin in the rainforest. Waking up to the rainforest waking up each day was amazing. Had crimson rosellas, white headed pidgeons and king parrots visit numerous times a day. Will have to book in the winter time to be able to use the fireplace.

Beautiful, clean, cozy cottage looking straight out into the forest... coffee, tea, sugar (but not milk), all the utensils you'll need, Webber barbecue, fire wood, beautiful linen and views from both bedrooms. Quiet spot away from the main house. Loved this little cottage ! Rose and Russell were lovely !

Lovely place to stay in the nature
Macadamia Rainforest Suite
I loved the stay in the cottage! It has a fire chimney where you can light fire, it keeps the entire room warm all day. This cottage also has a gorgeous bathtub, so make sure you bring a bath bomb or bubble bath gel 🙂 Rosemary and Russell are super nice and supportive throughout the stay! Thank you so much for your kind help and support ♡

The absolute best detox from technology and get back to nature in comfort. The shower has amazing hot water and pressure. All needs are met. I really love looking out the front windows to see the ground dwelling animals. Then looking out the back of the cabin to enjoy the tree top animals. Blessings and positive enegery.

Great cottage stay ,close to Brisi

If you want privacy, peace and quiet this is the place , A very comfortable and well thaught out cottage with a down to earth homely feel , we loved our stay and would recommend Rose gum cottage to anybody that wants to get away for a while , No TV, Phone and internet was a definite bonus just us time ! Thank you Rose and Russell , You have done a great job

The suite was like walking into a second home! Opening the curtains and having a hot bath had to be the highlight, as well as spotting the most gorgeous iridescent moth 👀, also -the extra surprises were lovely!

Macadamia Rainforest Suite
Beautiful location amongst the trees with lots of bird life, the perfect place to get out of the city to unwind and relax. The claw foot bath and other thoughtful touches around the place were great. Can’t wait to come back and try out the other cabins too!
