We loved our Black Locust campsite! We were tucked in our own spot with a picnic table, fire ring and plenty of firewood. The bathhouse was a very short walk away - a very cool building and even had a shower. The farm is a great place to walk around, the areas where mushrooms are growing are fascinating. Lots of flowering native plants all around, we heard owls at night and the stars filled the sky. Our hosts were very welcoming. I suggest checking out their “store” - wonderful handmade soaps and beautiful art.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Hawk Meadow Farm. Steve provided a very informative orientation to the property. The cob-built bathhouse with it's solar powered shower was lovely. We enjoyed his explanation of his medicinal mushroom products. Our site was lush and very quiet. I dropped my reading glasses outside our van. Steve found them after we left and graciously mailed them to us! We are so grateful. Thank you, Steve!

I would absolutely stay on Steve’s farm again. The property is absolutely beautiful and just what I was looking for. There’s a magical quality about the land; the campsite is private, with ample shade. Plenty of woods to stroll through and lots of chopped firewood! The outhouse is charming and unique. You should camp here!

Beautiful spot. Stayed two nights. Steve met us and showed us around. Fascinating buildings and mushroom farm. Cold shower in the bathhouse a big favorite on our hot and humid days. Ton of firewood. Would highly recommended as a quiet, private site.

We absolutely loved our experience at Meadow Hawk Farm! If you’re on the fence about booking, do it! This was our first time using HipCamp and we were so pleased. The property was so peaceful and serene. We walked around and explored a bunch and had fun in the creek. The actual camping spot was huge. Their dog Lucy was so sweet and a great guard dog! Saw tons of cute bunnies, some snakes, salamanders at the creek. The hosts were helpful and friendly but gave you plenty of privacy. The site was very far from their house. The fireflies put on quite a show every night, I have never seen so many at once. It was like hundreds of cameras flashing at the same time all night long ❤️
My one suggestion is if there are women in your camping group who may need the bathroom overnight, bring a toilet setup of some sort because it’s a bit farther than to the real bathroom than you would probably want to walk in the night! And make sure you bring filled water bladders with you to have at your site 😊

What a wonderful camping experience! You will not find more gracious hosts than Steve and Ann. Their land is beautiful, and you can see how thoughtfully and intentionally they manage it. Steve was kind enough to share about his mushroom operation, which was fascinating for everyone, including our four-year-old. Our experience was peaceful, relaxing, and inspiring. We hope to return to Hawk Meadow someday soon, and we will never forget our experience there!

Absolutely beautiful! The property is stunning and the free firewood and use of a well were wonderful. It was interesting that when we left two other groups were also leaving yet we had no idea they were there. The property is so well set up that we felt like we had paradise all to ourselves. Beautifully maintained and really enjoyed our stay. The pictures do no do justice tomorrow how much beauty there is.

Steve is one of the nicest souls I’ve encountered in my travels. He’s created a beautiful little oasis that’s 100% worth checking out. He was very friendly and hospitable, the black locust camp site was nothing short of stunning. If you find yourself in New York and are seeking an unforgettable camping experience this is the spot!

This is our favorite hipcamp! The farm is peaceful and beautiful, and the spots are secluded and perfect for evening campfires. This trip we saw a yellow warbler and enjoyed the morning bird chorus!

We loved our stay!!! Steve was so kind and let us explore his mushroom farm. The campsite was well maintained and had firewood for us, which was a treat! It was great staying here at night and exploring wineries during the day.

We loved tent camping at Hawk Meadow Farm! The site was beautiful and clean and there were tons of little trails to walk around. Steve was super kind and dropped off some fresh mushrooms for us for a fair price. The bathhouse was also very clean. We will definitely be returning in the future.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Steve and Anne's. The location was far enough from the main property that I couldn't see anything but trees while at camp. Unfortunately, it rained more than not while there but FORTUNATELY, I was able to keep a fire going! THANK YOU! The ample firewood saved my trip! My plans were to explore the Finger Lakes region but w wet boots, it turned into a solitude in nature at camp. Tent, fire, and a few books. Heaven
A few things to be aware of, the drive to the campsite has some foliage that will run down the length your vehicle. No scratches for me but I was a bit worried. Also, occasionally, you can hear some road noise, but honestly it becomes white noise after a short bit and it didn't distract from the feeling of being alone.
I loved my 3 days there. I unplugged, disconnected w the world, and just sat w myself. Loved every second! Will visit again.

Had a wonderful time camping at The Pines site. It was a very private spot with fire pit and picnic table, nestled well into Steve's beautiful property. The shower in the super cute cob house was perfect for a hot day. Had a lovely chat with Steve about his mushroom growing operation too! Already talking about coming back someday soon!

Hawk Meadow Farm is our very favorite Hipcamp! We usually stay at the Pine Tree site, but tried Black Locust this time and it didn’t disappoint. Both sites are quiet, lovely, and private. Black Locust feels even more secluded, like you’re tucked away in a little grove. If you’re a hammock camper, the Pine Tree site is a better pick— if you’re a tent camper, both are great but we liked Black Locust.

Staying at Steve and Anne's magical forest farm truly changed my life! My time with them has inspired me to want to manage forests with an eye towards wildlife habitat and mushrooms. Getting to eat fresh shiitakes, lions mane and oysters along with taking medicinal tinctures grown and made on their farm is a healing and joyful experience I hope everyone can enjoy. Don't miss an opportunity to spend some time with them in their forest sanctuary!

We loved the privacy of the black locust site! The tree cover gave great shade and we appreciated the firewood. Steve and Anne are fantastic hosts and they grow the best mushrooms I’ve ever had. I hope to visit again soon!

We loved our stay at Pine Tree! My boyfriend and I spent the day in Ithaca and this was the perfect retreat after exploring the farmers market and wineries. There are only two sites on Steve and Anne’s property and they are far away from each other. If there were other campers at the property, we didn’t hear or see them. The site was perfectly tucked away with huge pine trees that offered a nice bit of shade. It was plenty large enough for our pop-up camper and truck. Steve and Anne offer soo much dry firewood right at the site and it’s included in the price which was great! The bathhouse is in a beautiful building but we didn’t end up using it since it was a bit of a walk from the site and the deer flies are very bad this year. Luckily the flies weren’t bad at the campsite, only when we’d walk around in the sun. That has nothing to do with the site or the property, it’s just been a bad year for them so we didn’t risk the bites! We really loved how private and secluded Pine Tree was. It’s how camping should be!

Had a great stay!! I stayed in the Black Locust site~ it was beautiful and very private.
The new bathhouse was definitely a highlight for me!! I’m dreaming about it now 2 weeks after my stay! It’s gorgeous—gaze into the forest and listen to the birds as you cool off after a day in the woods<3.
Visit Creekside Cafe, where mushrooms from the farm are served!!
I absolutely enjoy my stay, I can’t wait to come again!

Wonderful stay! Very peaceful and quiet. Nice secluded campsite. Short walk to outhouse and shower. Wish I could have stayed a bit longer. If my travels bring me to the area again, I would definitely stay again.
