Weekend Trip to ZiegenVine Homestead

We love visiting the homestead. I think this was our 7th trip. My 3yr old daughter put it best, "Mommy, why does it feel like we are home when we are not home". She's 100% correct, Ziegenvine Homestead is our home a way from home. The Cabin was ready for us upon arrival. We visited the new piglets, goats, and chickens every day we were there. The bunk beds are perfect for little ones, we appreciate the safety of the guard rail. The bonus at the end of the trip with the warm brownies that Allison shared with us. We are already looking forward to coming back!

4 nights at HipSites @ Fulkerson Winery

We had a great four day stay at Fulkerson Vineyards. You cannot beat the view and have the place all to yourself (no other campers). It was easy to find (we even arrived after dark and figured it out just fine) just pull up alongside the post pile (which will be to your right). If you pull to the end of the pile before you are sticking out into the field you are out of the way of the disc golf as stated. We set up our solo stove where other fires were clearly there before and it was in the perfect spot perched up on a hill. The owner was very communicative, dropping firewood at the site for our arrival, and clear directions given to the site. It was a pleasure to meet him and chat about the local region. We tried out his recommended vineyards and thoroughly enjoyed them as well as a visit to Fulkerson itself! There was a sweet woman who graciously let us sample her homemade wine while we stopped in for a tasting with them. The location can’t be beat with several wineries and some breweries all along route 14. Also be sure to check out the many beautiful waterfalls in the region. Do this before the wine tastings, lol! The town of Watkins Glen is 10 minutes south for restaurants, grocery stores, and a Walmart if needed for supplies. We will definitely be back to stay at Fulkerson as this was a great experience for us and we only scratched the surface of all this region has to offer!

Weekend Trip to Red House Ranch Camp

We visited in April when it was still a bit chilly for camping so we rented the tiny house. A really pretty hilltop spot with sweeping views of the surrounding hills. We had rainy weather but it created undercast (the clouds below us) in the early morning.

Can't recommend this spot enough. Beautiful waterfall, super quiet and peaceful. It's super close to Watkins glen but it feels like it's hundreds of miles away from civilization when you're there. Ken is super professional too! Very attentive and available but gave us plenty of space to hang out amongst ourselves. I can't wait to come back.

We absoultey loved camping at Ken's property. The grounds are excelent and the waterfalls and creek are majestic! The campground is right near the center of town so nothing is ever too far away. Ken is a great host. Hands off but available to answer all of your questions and ready to help with whatever problems you may have. This place is defintely a 10 out of 10!

Weekend Trip to ZiegenVine Homestead

I enjoyed my winter camping trip. I highly recommend , I would come back again. When we arrived, they already had a warm fire going inside the cabin. The cabin was extremely clean. Especially for a rustic cabin. The night temperature was in the 20’s but we were very warm. As they provide dry well seasoned wood. Even the wood for the outside fire was really dry and warm as well. The queen sized bed was very comfortable and sleep really well. In the am we went for a walk on their land as there was a few marked trails. It was quiet and peaceful.

We had a wonderful time at South Hill Cider! The spot was nestled along the tree line in the back of the property. It was isolated and quiet for the most part. There is a hiking trail at the edge of the property so there occasionally were people walking by, but was also convenient to go for a quick hike!

It was so lovely! They have a little pond with goats and chickens (surrounded by a fence) and some friendly dogs! It was so peaceful and comfortable there. And they are trying to make a go of having more small events and groups. They are friendly, accommodating and I absolutely recommend this place!

Thanks for checking us out! We purchased our 20.5 Acres of land in the 1970's. We lived in a small dwelling and lived off the land for years; with a large garden and small farm animals. Now, our property has become our retirement sanctuary, for us to use with our RV. We developed 2 RV sites with full hookups, including 30, 50 Amp and 110 electric. There is water and sewage hookups, at both sites. We would like to share this sanctuary with others, who would appreciate it. You can book 1 site or add the second site at the extras section, in check out. We are only renting to one party at a time. You will have the campsites to yourselves. Our property is one mile from Cowanesque Lake, where there is fishing, boating, and swimming. You will enjoy wildlife, on our property and in the surrounding area such as deer, bald eagles, various birds, hoot owls at night, and others. It is also within driving distance from the Finger Lakes and wineries, Watkins Glenn, Corning Glass Museum, Leonard Harrison and Colton Point State Parks, Hills Creek State Park, Mansfield University, Tioga Boar Hunting Reserve, and the adorable town of Wellsboro. There are no lights on our property and is very dark at night. It is best to arrive during daylight, for easier RV hook up. However, due to the darkness, stargazing is spectacular. We have been able to see the Milky Way, at times. There is only one other home visible from the campsites. Enjoy!

Waterfall Creek

This is a beautiful piece of property located in the heart of the Finger Lakes and Wine Country of NY. It features a stunning spring fed waterfall and nice forest land. Very close to town but also very secluded and private. Great place to unwind and relax from our everyday lives. It is situated however in a gully next to a creek and waterfall so it is susceptible to heavy rains. It is recommended to at least have an AWD vehicle if rainy. I can usually help campers with getting to the site in my side X side if you need to park up at the pasture. Please order enough wood initially as I have found I spend a lot of time delivering extra wood to campers. It seems as if you will typically go through 2 bundles per night on average. Also I supply a contractor size garbage bag to you if you choose garbage removal. It is also a good idea to text me when you have a solid ETA so I can be here to take you to the site. I want to mention that the two sites closest to the waterfall are a slight hike in and can only accommodate up to 4 person tents so if a bigger group or vehicle camping you will be placed at another site. Tryals Park Camp & Obstacle Course

About the Property: Our unique property boasts quiet camping on a beautifully manicured MotoTrials Riding and Obstacle Play Course. All 3 camping sites are nestled into the Obstacle course. Trials riders and non-Trials Riders alike will find much to enjoy here. Campers unfamiliar with Trial are welcome to take advantage of a Lesson on one of our Rental Bikes, while the Obstacle Course is also super-fun on foot (for walks or runs), mountain bike, trials bicycle, or for playing with your RC rock climber! We have night lighting to turn on at your request, even if just to sit in the evening and enjoy the lights reflecting off the pond-We surely do! We are located on NY 38 but our traffic is low (Log and Milk Trucks, Farm Tractors and commuters). It is very peaceful here. Your camping can be as private, quiet and leisurely as you wish. The views and big sky are gorgeous in our corner of farm country. Our small pond provides entertainment w/ turtle sunbathing raft and lots of nature's visitors. (Canoe available) Pets are always welcome off-leash if you are comfortable. About the Trials Riding: We host 6 Mototrial events each season (see below) and if spectating appeals, you can plan your trip to coincide. You're in for a treat if you've never seen these nimble motorcycles do their 'thing'... up, over, and around the obstacles. Events are busy and exciting, but no worries (!) trials bikes are not loud and riders are friendly and considerate. If spectating is not your thing- no worries either. Non-event days are very laid back. On any given day if Trials riders come here (just to practice or instruction with Mike) it's not loud or invasive, nor interferes with any camper training or playing on the course. When riders are here (barring events), it is typically only 2-4 riders at a time. Multiple activities co-exist quite nicely here as there is plenty of room for all. There are many days no one is on the course at all (!) and you may have it all to yourself or possibly with another camper. Check-in time is totally flexible. You may come early and play on the course- even if you can't occupy your site yet due to another camper's departure. Hope to see you in our slice of heaven!
