Laughing Goat Fiber Farm is a working farm, raising exotic fiber animals such as Angora and Cashmere goats, alpacas. The fiber is processed on farm and regionally and everything made from it is hand dyed. Many items are one of a kind and hand made. A small retail shop in our renovated Carriage House showcases the knitting looms that we make items on, as well as knitting machines from 100 years ago. The property has beautiful views overlooking the Cayuga Lake Valley and Ithaca. Learn more about this land: Pitch your tent on the back 40 acres of a working goat farm.  Site #1 has a tent platform, table and firepit. The 12 x 16 tent platform backs up to the mature hedgerow of maples and oaks for afternoon shade, and the campsite overlooks Ithaca's Inlet Valley.  The platform is just a 4 minute walk to the main house, and you'll have complete privacy. Site #2 has a table and firepit, but no platform.  Site #3 has a table and firepit but no platform.  It is a level spot on the pasture where you can pitch a tent or park a vehicle.   Farm tours:  Sign up at http://tinyurl.com/goattours.

Flowery field; occasional goat :)
We camped at the Platform site & had a relaxing time! I loved to look out over the big field, we enjoyed seeing stars, the large fire pit was great. We got very good use out of the firewood and the BIG JUG OF WATER was really amazing to have for HOT July camping. The porta potty was perfectly clean and fresh. Stormy weather came up once during our stay (including a tornado warning!), fortunately we were in town with a good place to shelter, rather than at the tent. Lisa took time to send messages checking on us, making sure we were ok, and advising when the storm was expected to clear up. Super appreciated! We also liked hearing the occasional goat voice in the distance :)

The farm was absolutely beautiful. The platform, porta-potty and water spout were easily accessible and there was a very nice trail and mowed path around the field and into the connecting forested area. Directions were easy to follow and the surroundings were very comfortable.

Pasture-NO SHADE
Camping at the Pasture site was great. Lisa & Gary are really kind and easy going. They had mowed the site before we got in. Tons of sun at the Pasture site. Literally cut out of a hay field. No trees or shade at all, but that wasn't an issue for us. No biting bugs of any kind which was wonderful. Beautiful field full of lightening bugs at night. Portapotty and water source very near, easy to use and clean. Poured rain all night which was unfortunate, but the site didn't flood or get muddy. Would visit again.

Hedgerow
Lisa was very accommodating. I highly recommend taking her tour of the farm. She is knowledgeable and clearly loves her animals. I enjoyed learning about her solar panels, agricultural supports and her efforts to be sustainable and environmentally conscious. We enjoyed the peace and quiet and evening strolls along the pastures. Her farm is a quick trip to Ithaca and nearby trails and waterfalls.

Nice place and close to home. I went on a very hot weekend and would plan on activities off site during the hotter part of the day if tenting. Doesn’t get much shade till late in the afternoon. Owner was very attentive and I did enjoy my stay…
