We absolutely loved our stay at Cayuta Sun Farm! Michael and Kelly were amazing, welcoming hosts. It was so much fun to explore the farm and occasionally be greeted by Nelly, the farm dog. The italian sausage from the farm made for a delicious dinner! At Michael's reccomendation, we stopped by Odessa Coffee Depot and had a lovely chat with the owner. Watkins Glen and Ithaca were both short drives from the farm. Overall, it was a perfect experience and we'd definitely camp at Cayuta Sun Farm again!

Secluded Woods at Permaculture Farm
Overall we had a good time as the site was very secluded as well as large. However it was a very long arduous walk bringing all of our belongings into the site. *If you do stay here bring carts/wagons!!*
**Also the picnic table was basically falling apart and overgrown.

We had a nice little site in the woods, one or two minutes from where we parked. Michael was great, he toured us around the property and lended is a lighter because we forgot ours.

We loved the seclusion of the campsite and the quietness. A nice outdoor shower is also a bonus, and we appreciated that at the end of a long day of hiking! The cart to move our camping supplies to the campsite was a huge blessing as well. We had never used a composting toilet before, and we were pleasantly surprised at how simple and "scent-free" that was. (And much cleaner than many campground bathrooms we've used.

My kids and I loved camping at this property. While hauling things in to the site was a little unexpected (more my lack of planning and foresight than anything), Michael and Kelly provided a cart and were wonderful hosts overall.
The composting toilet was fine by me though my son was a little uncertain. The outdoor shower was lovely and I would shower that way every day if I could. Having an outdoor sink for washing dishes was very helpful. If you're wanting rustic but still providing basic amenities this is a great spot. All the amenities are a little spaced out but it makes for pleasant traversing in the woods. The bugs were pretty atrocious at times but that's to be expected in July i think.
We got some of the farm's pork when we registered and it was delicious. My kids (11 and 7) want to go back next time we're in the area. We were close to the state parks and Ithaca (within 20 min) and while we definitely felt like we were out in the middle of nowhere, we also felt very connected to anything we may need. Nelly, the farm dog, was a joy for my kids to play with, too! She's a bit of a jumper when she first sees you but even my very petite 7 year old daughter wasn't scared or phased at all. Thank you so much for an incredibly memorable 4 days!

Hosts were very kind and showed us around the farm so we could get around easily! If you’re looked for secluded, the secluded woods spot is definitely very, very secluded so just be prepared for a walk! Overall, land was very well maintained and there was a very cute dog!

Was our first camping trip and with a toddler. Everything was great. We got the meet the pigs and piglets, chickens, tons of snails (it rained), and their doggie liked to follow us around. Mike and his wife were super friendly, made us feel very welcome and showed us around the farm. Def recommend for kids. Regret not ordering any of their sausage though.

Michael has such a cool farm! He was very welcoming and showed us around. It’s really beautiful to see all the wildflowers around everywhere. Michael also had excellent recommendations for coffee! The campsite is a bit far from parking, but he has a wagon for your things.

The site was very interesting with the pigs and the layout. Our tent site was secluded and quiet. The hot shower was great! Unfortunately, our schedule didn’t allow us to explore the site. Next time we will have to stay longer.

Permaculture paradise in the woods!
What an amazing stay! Michael and Kelly were truly delightful, and their property is incredibly beautiful. Lots of options for places to set up your tent, and it all feels quiet and secluded. A super fun and informative stay- especially if you’re interested in permaculture, farming, gardening, or PIGS! So many reasons why this place is terrific- we look forward to coming back!

On arriving I was greeted by Michael, and his dog, who was just returning from feeding the pigs in one of the pens. He told me a little about the farm and gave me a tour of the place. The farm was amazingly beautiful. For my camping spot I chose to camp in the opening next to the picnic table. It was very secluded, quiet and near to the composting toilet. There was also a shower with hot water in the woods that was great to use. The trails around the farm were a pleasure to walk through. And, I had some of the Bratwurst that the farm makes and it was delicious. I highly recommend this place to all,

This was such a quiet and pleasant campsite! Michael and Kelly were awesome. It was a bit of a walk from where we parked our cars, but not too bad. They provided a wagon to help us wheel everything down! I’d definitely camp here again. We were close to both Cayuga and Seneca lake, which was perfect for our weekend itinerary!

Michael's land was very nice! The camping area is huge and his wife said we could choose pretty much anywhere past a certain point. Michael was very communicative and while I didn't meet him personally, his wife was incredibly nice. Their dogs are very nice too. Nellie immediately wanted belly rubs when we were trying to set up our tent.
One thing I do wish we had were personal firepits aside from the communal one, however, since you are basically in the forest with a lot of brush, I understand why you can't have one.

Michael and Kelly were great hosts and their property is beautiful. When we arrived Michael showed us around. The property has a compost toilet, sink, and shower. They made sure to have hot water in the shower for us which we greatly appreciated. The campsite was spacious and well shaded. There was a neighboring campsite but we still felt like we had plenty of privacy. There was a fire pit we could use that was a 2 minute walk from our camp site since we couldn't have a fire in the pines. Overall a wonderful trip and we will definitely be back! I couldn't be happier with my first hipcamp experience.

Loved this place!! Very private and definitely appreciated the outdoor shower, sink, toilet, and drinking water. Only downside is there are a LOT of flies when unloading and near the farm but once you get into the area you can camp everything was great!! Very communicative host as well which is always a plus

Michael and his wife are super nice and my kids and I had a great time feeding the piglets and camping in the woods. The larger camp site was at the end of a marked path and the view of the stars was amazing. We had a fire pit, picnic table and lots of privacy. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the yummy sausages from their farm that we grilled over the fire.

My friend and I decided to try Hipcamp for the first time and were not disappointed! We had a great time exploring the farm and woodlands—there was always something interesting to look at. There were lots of campsite options but we chose a grassy patch by the edge of the woods, which was near the composting toilet and had a fire pit and a great view of the stars. We did have to carry our things from the car to the campsite (as expected) so pack light! Totally recommend if you want to enjoy nature and some peace and quiet.
