This property is currently in development. It offers tranquility, with occasional visits from deer. River access is just a short distance away, providing opportunities for fishing, sunbathing, or floating along the Cowlitz River. Just follow the pink flagging from our "Black Tail River Trail" sign at the south end of the grounds along the mowed path into the woods to the river. Approx 750' from the sign.
Conveniently located near the towns of Kelso and Longview, and only 2.7 miles from Castle Rock.
Two full hookups are available, two water/power sites, along with ample dry camping areas. We have a porta potty as well.
Horses are welcome on the property, as are leashed/penned and friendly pets. Dogs can be off leash at the river, but be courteous and aware of other dogs. Please clean up after your animals!
Cell phone coverage is good here, we do not have wifi available.
We offer firewood for sale and allow propane fire pits. We also have a community fire pit for our campers, called the Lave Pit, directly across from our dry camp area. We follow the Cowlitz County burn ban, July 15-Sept 30.

Batwater worked with several agencies when we breeched a levee and flooded 26 acres for salmon and wildlife habitat. Hike along the wetlands and see beaver dams and dens. Batwater is also home for many types of birds including eagles, osprey, tree swallow, purple martins, barn swallows, wood ducks, common and hooded mergansers, mallards, scoots, scaups, grebes, cormorants, great egrets, blue herons, geese and many types of song birds . In the spring and summer see our returning osprey who have. nested on our dock since 2013. There are now 2 osprey platform since a pair of Canada geese choose that as their nesting site as well. Some bald eagles winter here but we have our resident bald eagles Hep and Hope. They arrived in 2003 to start their nest on Crims Island. They still nest there although there old nest tree collapsed in 2020. Many birds migrate here for the winter. Common mammals are river otter, mink, muskrat, raccoons, nutria, coyotes, black tailed and threatened Colombia White Tailed deer. We also are home to native turtles and frogs.
Batwater is a working farm with cattle feeding on lush pastures, 2 retired horses and chickens. When eggs are available, we will share some with you.
Batwater is a great place to kayak, canoe, paddle board or row during the summer months. We have windy afternoons for windsurfers or sailors. The Columbia River is well known for salmon, and sturgeon. For an extra fee you can moor your larger boat while visiting. There are a volley ball and badminton set ups along with horse shoes during the summer months. We suggest swimming during the summer months when the tide is coming in or slack. You can also walk or drive down to Mayger beach which is popular with locals. There are sandy beaches on Crims island that you can paddle over too.

There is only one campsite on this property, insuring privacy and solitude during your stay. The setting is most private, the river lovely. This setting is wonderful for a quiet family getaway in the woods; it is not 'party' appropriate.
The Coweeman River runs clean and pristine. Though only 3' to 4' deep, it provides a refreshing dip on a warm summer's day. It can be used for washing and bathing and could be filtered/treated to make it potable.
A locked cabin has a large covered porch overlooking the River that is available for campers, complete with chairs and picnic table.
Well mannered, non-digging dogs are welcome (maximum 2) as long as their responsible owners clean up after them.
The camp has a pit toilet and we are asking guests to extend its life by only putting poop and pee in it. Please burn your TP or take it out with your trash.
There is a fire ring and a tub of firewood available (and refillable) on site for $10. Payment for the woodcutter is through Venmo when you return to the electronic world. If you bring your own wood keep maximum length to 20" to keep fire/ash within ring. There is a covered picnic table (10' X 10' pop up) and chairs at the fire ring.
Trash can provided. Please remove your trash.
Don't forget to bring drinking water, toilet paper (none is provided), fire starter (though our firewood is well seasoned, dry and easy to ignite), headlamp, roasting sticks for them s'mores, water shoes and tromping shoes. The closest store for supplies is 11 miles (20ish minutes) down Rose Valley Road, a small country market with basics, and fuel.
There driveway is steep but fine for 2 wheel drive vehicles. When driving out, make sure gate is open before starting the climb out.. The driveway is steepest at the gate so please do not stop there as tire spinning will result.

This is a 10 acre camp of wooded hills. This campsite currently has an rv pad for rent and a featured camp site with a hobbit house. Soon to be more tent sites. There is a firewood stand on site and bundles are only $5! The hobbit house is built back into a hillside and is underground, round doors, and arched ceiling stays true to hobbit architecture. This is a glamping opportunity. Inside the hobbit house there is a full bed for two, with a quality mattress and an adjustable bed frame that has a motor to lift body to sit up or you can raise legs. There is power inside and a small microwave for cooking. 30 feet away is a sink for cleaning and good drinking water. There is a bathroom area a short way down the hill with a flushing toilet and heated shower. Outdoors includes a fire pit, a few small springs and ponds and lots of trails to explore.
Your shelter and mattress will be top notch, however this is still a campground and you need to be prepared as a camper. Currently we do not have a refrigerator, bring your own cooler. No silverware, or plates are provided. You can heat things in the microwave or cook over the fire. Bring whatever utensils are needed. Within a couple miles of our location is Lewis River Golf Course, as well as popular water spotd of Merwin Lake Park, and floating the Lewis River. We have a scavenger hunt set up on the trails of our property if you want the challenge of finding our targets as you walk the trails.

It is an ideal location for large groups and in order to keep the campground as a single site, larger groups are given preference. Birdsong comes early here, and crickets and frogs light up the evenings. There aren't any city lights, so stargazing is a real delight. Centrally located and with 10 acres of field, forest, and farm, there is something of interest for everyone.
In camp, you will find a rustic kitchen with three picnic tables, and a fire pit with accessories. There is a sink for your convenience so remember to bring water containers for hand and dish washing.
The resource area for campers is at the second gate and has an electrical outlet, a water hose, and a wagon for transporting items to camp. We have several items for sale, including nice firewood bundles, farm-fresh eggs, and snacks for hand-feeding the farm animals. Lawn games (volleyball, badmintton, bocci ball), hammocks, a parachute, etc. are available for rent.

It sits upon a meadow with surrounding trees and a cow pasture in the distance. Spring time offers a small pond (please see below), but the Lewis river is close by with tons of recreational activities (swimming, fishing, hiking, wineries, etc.). There is only one site so there is a lot of privacy (there used to be two so some of the pictures show the older site right by the pond). It is a rural property with both farms AND residential homes/Airbnbs along the river and surrounding area. Town is not far (six miles) to get supplies and the Heisson convenience store is less than a mile away. Privacy is better here than at a public campground and it's perfect for a quick trip out of town for a day or two or just a quick and safe stop in your travels, or an extended stay.
This is a beautiful property and I enjoy sharing it, please be mindful of the rules. *This winter was tough, lots of wind, so some trees fell, but they are all cleaned up and lots of small trees were planted. Can't wait until they grow to help for more privacy!!!
Please, read the site description carefully! There is NO electricity or plumbing at the sites but there is a BPA safe hose for water at the top of the hill for your use (I usually have it on but if not please feel free to message me, and if you don't want to wait for a reply please feel free to knock on my door). The camp toilet (composting bucket with seat and lid) has a private tent, please be aware you must pack out your waste.
This site can accommodate a large group, please see the prices when reserving. (It can fit up to five RVs but keep in mind it's dry camping and the RVs must have their own toilets.)
I LOVE Dogs and they are most welcome, and may be off leash for a run in the field, however, they MUST have high recall. Please be mindful of my own dogs and chickens down below so please do not let them go beyond your site or the field when using.
*We plan on making the pond to be a swim pond that will hold water all year long (the creek that runs into it is seasonal so it dries out depending on how much rain we get in any given year).

We are located on top of Bunker Hill nestled between the Dunn creek and Chehalis river. Our property is 56 acres of mixed biomes including multi-generational forests, open meadows, and creek side trails. We are located right off Chandler Road, off of Highway 6. You turn onto Labri road (white sign) and you're on the property after going through a gate.
Meander down the road past a red barn and several buildings on your right.
Through the second gate, the dispersed camping site offers various sites for camping attached to a main trail that parallels the Dunn creek down to the Chehalis river. They are conveniently accessible off the logging roads which cross with Labri road after you've passed through the second gate. If you take the logging road to the left (look for a blue and white ribbon) you will come up to a tree line where you can park (another blue and white ribbon) and either take the trail to the left or right where you will find ample places to camp.
You may camp along the trail or closer to the creek. The most ideal spot is right after you park near the blue and white ribbon if you walk North you'll see a site marked with an orange and white ribbon. This site has easy access to the creek but is still on a hill.
There are four RV spots with full onsite hook-up. Two of the RV sites are paved and lit with ground lights and are prioritized for heavier rigs. The other two sites are on grass. We have two RV sites with no hook up (boondocking) but bathroom and shower access. We do not allow dumping of grey water or sewage at our property but there is a dump station just 1 minute away at Rainbow Falls State Park.
The site is located on a hill so you get very nice view of sunsets and sunrises. For those who enjoy bird watching the nearby fruit trees bring in many birds.
We are an ideal location for those who love the outdoors or just want to have private family events.

This is a gorgeous park-like RV campground situated between the trees of the arboretum. NO TENTS, please. Also we have NO PUBLIC RESTROOMS. Beautiful view of the mountains and forests here in western Washington. We are close to Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier and several lakes.
There are walking trails all around the site. The 12 acre campground is located on a 136 acre property that is an active Christmas tree farm. Trails continue throughout the tree farm.
Many trails have a view of the Tilton River, which can be reached via a challenging 3/4 mile trail. Sites are on 12 acres planted with many different species of trees that are about 30 years old. Giant Redwoods, Cedars, and Maples are just a few of the varieties present. Part of the farm is still a working Christmas tree farm.
The trails are wide and grassy. The old logging road that we use as a trail to the river has an elevation change of about 500 feet, the trail can be quite challenging. Bear Creek empties into the Tilton river at the end of the trail.

Once a working farm, Grey Owl Hollow sat fallow for over 20 years.
In 2017, Seth left the corporate world and he and Yvonne dedicated themselves to the stewardship of this charming locale.
The densely planted lumber forest was trimmed and thinned, allowing deer and other wildlife migration while providing shady campsites for nature lovers.
Seth has begun planting a redwood grove in the high meadow and Yvonne is adding hazelnut and walnut trees to the 80-year-old apple orchard.
Grey Owl Hollow is in trust and is intended to remain a nature sanctuary for future generations. Our 20 acre piece of heaven includes a fir tree forest for cool camping in the heat of summer. Romp with your dog through the rolling meadow, meditate or play in the 35' labyrinth and - in early fall - help yourselves to blackberries and apples in the orchard. Black-tailed Columbian deer are regular visitors, while coyotes, owls, and frogs may serenade you in the evening.
We are firm believers in the value of time in the woods as a balm for physical, psychological, and emotional distress. Batwater Station is located halfway between Portland and the Oregon Coast on the Columbia River. Batwater worked with several agencies when we breeched a levee and flooded 26 acres for salmon and wildlife habitat. Hike along the wetlands and see beaver dams and dens. Batwater is also home for many types of birds including eagles, osprey, tree swallow, purple martins, barn swallows, wood ducks, common and hooded mergansers, mallards, scoots, scaups, grebes, cormorants, great egrets, blue herons, geese and many types of song birds . In the spring and summer see our returning osprey who have. nested on our dock since 2013. There are now 2 osprey platform since a pair of Canada geese choose that as their nesting site as well. Some bald eagles winter here but we have our resident bald eagles Hep and Hope. They arrived in 2003 to start their nest on Crims Island. They still nest there although there old nest tree collapsed in 2020. Many birds migrate here for the winter. Common mammals are river otter, mink, muskrat, raccoons, nutria, coyotes, black tailed and threatened Colombia White Tailed deer. We also are home to native turtles and frogs.
Batwater is a working farm with cattle feeding on lush pastures, 2 retired horses and chickens. When eggs are available, we will share some with you.
Batwater is a great place to kayak, canoe, paddle board or row during the summer months. We have windy afternoons for windsurfers or sailors. The Columbia River is well known for salmon, and sturgeon. For an extra fee you can moor your larger boat while visiting. There are a volley ball and badminton set ups along with horse shoes during the summer months. We suggest swimming during the summer months when the tide is coming in or slack. You can also walk or drive down to Mayger beach which is popular with locals. There are sandy beaches on Crims island that you can paddle over too.

There is only one campsite on this property, insuring privacy and solitude during your stay. The setting is most private, the river lovely. This setting is wonderful for a quiet family getaway in the woods; it is not 'party' appropriate.
The Coweeman River runs clean and pristine. Though only 3' to 4' deep, it provides a refreshing dip on a warm summer's day. It can be used for washing and bathing and could be filtered/treated to make it potable.
A locked cabin has a large covered porch overlooking the River that is available for campers, complete with chairs and picnic table.
Well mannered, non-digging dogs are welcome (maximum 2) as long as their responsible owners clean up after them.
The camp has a pit toilet and we are asking guests to extend its life by only putting poop and pee in it. Please burn your TP or take it out with your trash.
There is a fire ring and a tub of firewood available (and refillable) on site for $10. Payment for the woodcutter is through Venmo when you return to the electronic world. If you bring your own wood keep maximum length to 20" to keep fire/ash within ring. There is a covered picnic table (10' X 10' pop up) and chairs at the fire ring.
Trash can provided. Please remove your trash.
Don't forget to bring drinking water, toilet paper (none is provided), fire starter (though our firewood is well seasoned, dry and easy to ignite), headlamp, roasting sticks for them s'mores, water shoes and tromping shoes. The closest store for supplies is 11 miles (20ish minutes) down Rose Valley Road, a small country market with basics, and fuel.
There driveway is steep but fine for 2 wheel drive vehicles. When driving out, make sure gate is open before starting the climb out.. The driveway is steepest at the gate so please do not stop there as tire spinning will result.

This is a 10 acre camp of wooded hills. This campsite currently has an rv pad for rent and a featured camp site with a hobbit house. Soon to be more tent sites. There is a firewood stand on site and bundles are only $5! The hobbit house is built back into a hillside and is underground, round doors, and arched ceiling stays true to hobbit architecture. This is a glamping opportunity. Inside the hobbit house there is a full bed for two, with a quality mattress and an adjustable bed frame that has a motor to lift body to sit up or you can raise legs. There is power inside and a small microwave for cooking. 30 feet away is a sink for cleaning and good drinking water. There is a bathroom area a short way down the hill with a flushing toilet and heated shower. Outdoors includes a fire pit, a few small springs and ponds and lots of trails to explore.
Your shelter and mattress will be top notch, however this is still a campground and you need to be prepared as a camper. Currently we do not have a refrigerator, bring your own cooler. No silverware, or plates are provided. You can heat things in the microwave or cook over the fire. Bring whatever utensils are needed. Within a couple miles of our location is Lewis River Golf Course, as well as popular water spotd of Merwin Lake Park, and floating the Lewis River. We have a scavenger hunt set up on the trails of our property if you want the challenge of finding our targets as you walk the trails.

Pleasant Places campground is clean, quiet, spacious, and private with lots of nooks for R&R, as well as ample space for play and activities. It is an ideal location for large groups and in order to keep the campground as a single site, larger groups are given preference. Birdsong comes early here, and crickets and frogs light up the evenings. There aren't any city lights, so stargazing is a real delight. Centrally located and with 10 acres of field, forest, and farm, there is something of interest for everyone.
In camp, you will find a rustic kitchen with three picnic tables, and a fire pit with accessories. There is a sink for your convenience so remember to bring water containers for hand and dish washing.
The resource area for campers is at the second gate and has an electrical outlet, a water hose, and a wagon for transporting items to camp. We have several items for sale, including nice firewood bundles, farm-fresh eggs, and snacks for hand-feeding the farm animals. Lawn games (volleyball, badmintton, bocci ball), hammocks, a parachute, etc. are available for rent.

It sits upon a meadow with surrounding trees and a cow pasture in the distance. Spring time offers a small pond (please see below), but the Lewis river is close by with tons of recreational activities (swimming, fishing, hiking, wineries, etc.). There is only one site so there is a lot of privacy (there used to be two so some of the pictures show the older site right by the pond). It is a rural property with both farms AND residential homes/Airbnbs along the river and surrounding area. Town is not far (six miles) to get supplies and the Heisson convenience store is less than a mile away. Privacy is better here than at a public campground and it's perfect for a quick trip out of town for a day or two or just a quick and safe stop in your travels, or an extended stay.
This is a beautiful property and I enjoy sharing it, please be mindful of the rules. *This winter was tough, lots of wind, so some trees fell, but they are all cleaned up and lots of small trees were planted. Can't wait until they grow to help for more privacy!!!
Please, read the site description carefully! There is NO electricity or plumbing at the sites but there is a BPA safe hose for water at the top of the hill for your use (I usually have it on but if not please feel free to message me, and if you don't want to wait for a reply please feel free to knock on my door). The camp toilet (composting bucket with seat and lid) has a private tent, please be aware you must pack out your waste.
This site can accommodate a large group, please see the prices when reserving. (It can fit up to five RVs but keep in mind it's dry camping and the RVs must have their own toilets.)
I LOVE Dogs and they are most welcome, and may be off leash for a run in the field, however, they MUST have high recall. Please be mindful of my own dogs and chickens down below so please do not let them go beyond your site or the field when using.
*We plan on making the pond to be a swim pond that will hold water all year long (the creek that runs into it is seasonal so it dries out depending on how much rain we get in any given year).

We are located on top of Bunker Hill nestled between the Dunn creek and Chehalis river. Our property is 56 acres of mixed biomes including multi-generational forests, open meadows, and creek side trails. We are located right off Chandler Road, off of Highway 6. You turn onto Labri road (white sign) and you're on the property after going through a gate.
Meander down the road past a red barn and several buildings on your right.
Through the second gate, the dispersed camping site offers various sites for camping attached to a main trail that parallels the Dunn creek down to the Chehalis river. They are conveniently accessible off the logging roads which cross with Labri road after you've passed through the second gate. If you take the logging road to the left (look for a blue and white ribbon) you will come up to a tree line where you can park (another blue and white ribbon) and either take the trail to the left or right where you will find ample places to camp.
You may camp along the trail or closer to the creek. The most ideal spot is right after you park near the blue and white ribbon if you walk North you'll see a site marked with an orange and white ribbon. This site has easy access to the creek but is still on a hill.
There are four RV spots with full onsite hook-up. Two of the RV sites are paved and lit with ground lights and are prioritized for heavier rigs. The other two sites are on grass. We have two RV sites with no hook up (boondocking) but bathroom and shower access. We do not allow dumping of grey water or sewage at our property but there is a dump station just 1 minute away at Rainbow Falls State Park.
The site is located on a hill so you get very nice view of sunsets and sunrises. For those who enjoy bird watching the nearby fruit trees bring in many birds.
We are an ideal location for those who love the outdoors or just want to have private family events.

This is a gorgeous park-like RV campground situated between the trees of the arboretum. NO TENTS, please. Also we have NO PUBLIC RESTROOMS. Beautiful view of the mountains and forests here in western Washington. We are close to Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier and several lakes.
There are walking trails all around the site. The 12 acre campground is located on a 136 acre property that is an active Christmas tree farm. Trails continue throughout the tree farm.
Many trails have a view of the Tilton River, which can be reached via a challenging 3/4 mile trail. Sites are on 12 acres planted with many different species of trees that are about 30 years old. Giant Redwoods, Cedars, and Maples are just a few of the varieties present. Part of the farm is still a working Christmas tree farm.
The trails are wide and grassy. The old logging road that we use as a trail to the river has an elevation change of about 500 feet, the trail can be quite challenging. Bear Creek empties into the Tilton river at the end of the trail.

40 acres of secluded forest, fields, creek, and orchards. The Fern Haus is an abandoned once-was nursery and tree farm. Patches of overgrown plants and trees can be found all across the property. Enjoy fishing in the creek only steps from one of our many campsites, or strolling in the cottonwood and alder trees. You'll encounter all sorts of wildlife during your stay. Hang in a hammock, sleep in one of our 20ft. bell tents, stay in our Forager geo-dome, enjoy our new Witches Cabin, or use one of our many tent camping sites. Large nearby field is perfect for stargazing!

Once a working farm, Grey Owl Hollow sat fallow for over 20 years.
In 2017, Seth left the corporate world and he and Yvonne dedicated themselves to the stewardship of this charming locale.
The densely planted lumber forest was trimmed and thinned, allowing deer and other wildlife migration while providing shady campsites for nature lovers.
Seth has begun planting a redwood grove in the high meadow and Yvonne is adding hazelnut and walnut trees to the 80-year-old apple orchard.
Grey Owl Hollow is in trust and is intended to remain a nature sanctuary for future generations. Our 20 acre piece of heaven includes a fir tree forest for cool camping in the heat of summer. Romp with your dog through the rolling meadow, meditate or play in the 35' labyrinth and - in early fall - help yourselves to blackberries and apples in the orchard. Black-tailed Columbian deer are regular visitors, while coyotes, owls, and frogs may serenade you in the evening.
We are firm believers in the value of time in the woods as a balm for physical, psychological, and emotional distress. Seth, your host, is a certified Forest and Nature Therapy guide, and two-hour guided walks are available as an extra with your booking.At Grey Owl Hollow, we are dedicated to providing a delightful camping experience with whimsy, wonder and tranquility.

Peaceful property tucked away from the hustle. The tent is spacious and well furnished. I enjoyed the solitude and wood fire stove.
There was a little calico feline concierge there to greet me but didn't wear a collar. After a shirt conversation we agreed their name would be Dr Concierge Dribble, as they drooled when pet. They were friendly and well behaved, be kind to Dr Dribbles if they pay a visit.
Awesome break in a tucked away paradise.

Such a cozy and witchy vibe me and my fiancé had such a wonderful time staying here for Valentine’s Day weekend. The aesthetic was well thought out and the cabin was well stocked for a relaxing time. The cabin was a little hard to find in the dark when we arrived as it’s tucked into the back of the property, but once we found it it was nothing but a great time.

Wonderful little slice of property! Directions are clear, setup is simple, lodging is as advertised. We loved our stay in the little A frame cabin - clean, cozy, comfortable. We rented a buddy heater to keep warm & it worked great, only needed it for about an hour. Nestled the two beds together to make one large space. Used wagons to help transport goods down to the cabin & were grateful they were available. Host is responsive and kind - swapped some farm goods for some shellfish & gave us good hiking and local event info. Great stay!!

I stayed in the A-frame cabin in the woods and it couldn’t have been more perfect. I needed a retreat to get away by myself and reconnect with nature and this was well beyond what I expected. Kyle took great care of me upon checking in and Sydney offered me a dozen farm fresh eggs that had just been harvested! I left after three days and two nights a brand new person!!! Thanks :-)

Beautiful farm with very kind hosts. We had a great time unplugging, connecting with the livestock, and enjoying the sunrise and sunset each day. The tent stayed warm so long as someone was up to tend to the wood stove. Would definitely recommend this getaway.

My daughter and I had a lovely stay at this amazing property in the Witches Cabin. My daughter and I explored around the property and we had the best time. Dionne is a amazing host that helped us find the location and also came out to make sure we were all good at our campsite later on in the night. I recommend going to this hipcamp any time!

I couldn’t say enough nice things about this place - It was absolutely lovely with the trickling little river lulling us to sleep at night, the birds singing a sweet melody to wake us in the morning, the massive fire pit that you could fit a whole family around, and the pavilion with multiple tables and a cute little propane heater to stay warm just incase there is a rainy day. This was all tucked away in a beautiful forest which made it feel very secluded. We had such an amazing time!

The little A-frame structure was perfect for my needs and stood up well to some pretty blustery weather on my first day. It takes a minute to locate the structure if you arrive in the dark and rain, as I did, but once I was oriented, all was well. Definitely recommend this instead of a tent if you're coming at a time of year when the weather is a bit unpredictable.
