Keesee River Property

We loved this place! We booked the large group site. Very secluded and perfect for a group camp! It was myself, my husband, and our four adult children with their families/pets. We didn't have to worry about other people/pets around us. Our kids/pets could easily roam freely. Big wide-open space right next to the river. There are large, beautiful trees with thick moss all over, wildflowers, blackberries, etc. There was an outhouse and picnic table, which was not shown on the Hipcamp website, so that was nice. The rustic bridge can be really fun to fish from. The river is very low and slow (some deep spots) but very easy to watch our little ones around. This is a perfect, inexpensive place if you just want to get away and hang with family & friends and do your own thing. We will definitely be coming back. We would like to give a special thanks to Kenny! Both mine and my husband's Maps sent us WAY out of the way in the opposite direction from town. (None of our children's maps did this, so possibly it was our phones) We ended up getting stuck behind a Weyerhaeuser gate with very limited cell service. Kenny spent (I'm guessing) likely a couple hours out of his evening looking for us on his motorcycle so he could help get us out. Then he led us back to the actual camp and made sure everything was ok. My recommendation is to get detailed directions from Kenny before going. If you end up on a gravel road and not paved, you are going the wrong way. :) Thanks Kenny!

Kenny’s place was incredible! We were there for 4th of July weekend and it was so peaceful! The only noise was the river that runs next to it. We spent the days fishing, playing games, really just hanging out, it’s perfect for everything. It was easy to pull into for our friends RV and flat for those in tents. At night we set up a screen and used a projector to watch movies under the stars! And Kenny the host? Such great communication! Responds quickly and is very clear about details like directions. I would highly recommend this space for next camping trip, family reunion, girls weekend, heck get married here! This spot is amazing! I thank you Kenny for sharing your property with us, I wouldn’t change a thing, we will be back!

We absolutely loved our time spent in Site 2! We had a beautiful view of the Coweeman river, as well as private access The property is tucked into a little pocket and you are surrounded by beautiful trees, with lots of room to roam.

We had a wonderful stay at this campsite! The host was incredibly kind and flexible, which made our experience even better. The property is absolutely beautiful, nestled right by a peaceful river. Our kids had a blast playing in the water while we relaxed nearby. it was the perfect mix of fun and relaxation. The river is cool, refreshing, and a great way to beat the heat. We also appreciated the available tables and chairs, which made everything so convenient. Overall, a fantastic spot for families. We’ll definitely be back!

We had a fabulous family camp out at the event space. There was plenty of room for all of us some of us in RVs one in a camper and a few tents. The river was calm and the kids loved playing in it.. We will absolutely stay here again!

Nice spot, quiet and private, nice clean out house. Beautiful area. There are a few things laying around the property that could be concerning for children, some boards with nails, a brush pile and some metal sheeting to a canopy but that is at the area closest to the river.

Great for groups!

Our group had a great time at the Keesee River property! There were two other big groups at the other sites and we all had plenty of room to spread out and play. We cooled off and relaxed in the creek, played badminton, cooked around campfire, caught some gorgeous sunsets and did some stargazing! The property is quiet and well kept—and everyone cleaned up after their pets. You have to pack everting in and out (no water or bathrooms), but that’s not a big deal! The sites have a good mix of sun and shade and access to the beautiful creek.

Labor Day weekend

This was a great site for our group of 10. And plenty of room for 20! The river runs at the back of the property, with easy access and a small bank to put chairs out. Great spot to spend the hot hours of the day, as it is shaded and 20 degrees cooler. The last 5 miles is windy and the road is narrow. But we pulled a trailer no problem. 1 of 4 of our company missed the driveway, but it was dark when they arrived. Follow the mile markers and directions given by Kenny, not your GPS. There are multiple sites on the property, but they are spaced out and we didn’t hear any of the other campers. Kenny is a great host and responds to questions right away. Would absolutely camp there again.

Site 4

Absolutely loved camping here! The river is absolutely gorgeous and it is perfect for little kids to play in but has some deeper spots to swim. My dogs enjoyed running in the field early in the morning and got to really stretch out their legs! 10/10

The area for camping was a large field surrounded by beautiful old growth trees. We got lucky, we only had to share the whole property for one of the two nights we stayed. The creek by the sites is gentle and lovely. One thing we wish we knew prior to coming was that there is a one lane road that takes you to the property. It’s pretty tight with a large vehicle/ RV. Overall the experience was lovely and we would love to come again!

A lovely out-of-the-way spot by the river with a great swimming spot. Clear views to the night sky. 35 minutes off I-5 on a winding road that is paved instead of rutted and potholed.
