We had a wonderful time! The campsite was peaceful, picnic shelter was awesome, porta potty was clean and the stream was perfect to cool off in. There were no sightings of Sasquatch.

We absolutely loved our time here. Perfect for our 3 families, tents and trailer, kids and dog. Perfect little spot to splash and plunge in the creek. Shelter was great for kitchen area with little sink. Porta potty in great condition. Would definitely return!

I love this campsite! There is so much space! The covered area is amazing AND there are so many birds to enjoy! The creek is perfect for cooling off and the sound is hypnotizing! Chris is thoughtful and very responsive if anything is needed!

We love this place so much. It is becoming an annual trip for my group of friends. It can accommodate lots of people, there is shelter if it rains, the creek is a lovely backdrop and amazing on a warm day. It also feels quite private.

Once again Chris’ campsite came through for us. The stream to enjoy, plenty of flat grass area for tents, croquet and some baseball. The covered pavilion is exceptional! Four long tables is really a nice luxury. The site is quiet and secluded. A real gem.

Great Camping Experience

The site was absolutely beautiful with the river running thru it. Morning coffee by the fire with the calming sounds of the river is just what my soul needed. The large pavilion was such a BONUS for our trip, with a fireplace, picnic tables, camp sink, BBQ, etc. Plenty of grassy space for the kids, NICE horse shoe pit and plenty of space for yard games and fun. There's a beautiful lake a short distance away, which I recommend checking out. It's worth the short drive. Chris and her husband were FABULOUS camp hosts and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we might need. I can say if we lived closer, we could be great friends. In fact, the hospitality of everyone in that area is remarkable. We will definitely return for many future trips. Thank you Chris for sharing your beautiful space and allowing us such a memorable time.

It was exactly what I needed. I wanted a good secluded space for a big group to celebrate a birthday without bothering anyone else, and it was perfect. The creek was super pretty, the fire pit was nice, the port a potty was clean. Chris was nice and pleasant.
The only thing was there was some gunshots through the afternoon in the surrounding hills. Given the area it’s not surprising but just keep in mind if you’re looking for complete quiet. It was on and off for a few hours but nothing late into the night.

our group of 11 had a fantastic weekend at this camp site! the creek is beautiful, the space is lush with a lot of flat spots for tents, the covered area is a HUGE plus. even though our weekend was sunny, if it rained it would be no big deal. there are a few houses within view of the canpsite but that didn’t bother us at all. a surprise that we did not know was going to be there was a metal foot pump sink for hand washing or dishes! overall we were very impressed and want to visit again.

I couldn’t say enough nice things about this place - It was absolutely lovely with the trickling little river lulling us to sleep at night, the birds singing a sweet melody to wake us in the morning, the massive fire pit that you could fit a whole family around, and the pavilion with multiple tables and a cute little propane heater to stay warm just incase there is a rainy day. This was all tucked away in a beautiful forest which made it feel very secluded. We had such an amazing time!

Just what I needed! As a solo female camping with only my soulpup, this slice of heaven is spectacular! I arrived on a day that the sky opened up and it poured for hours. I even got stopped by a road closure for a downed tree 20 minutes up the road on arrival. Chris was in constant communication when I let her know I’d be delayed for checking in. She and Jack showed up (after I had gotten there and had time to regroup a bit) with an offer for the propane fire pit under the shelter and helped me get it going. We car camped and I accidentally drained my battery overnight. Jack was so nice to come jump it for me the next morning. All of this was above and beyond as hosts if you ask me. As far as the property, it’s such a nice mix of lawn space and wild space. Amenities, yet wilderness. The covered shelter offers a space to relax, even in the rain. The tent deck was the perfect spot for meditation and taking in scenery that had me constantly in awe. And the sound of the flowing creek was so calming. To address some points I noticed in previous reviews,…the portapotty was spotless when I was there. And there was zero scent or odor, even with the heavy rains and wind. Yes, there is a neighborhood pup who randomly strolls through. I have a selectively reactive pup and he didn’t so much as bark at her. I legit think this old girl gives off some kind of calming aura about her! Not even space to rave as much as this place deserves! Perfection!

Warm and dry even in a storm

This was the second time we stayed at Chris’ HipCamp and both times we camped under Er the shelter knowing the rain was coming. The portable toilet and campsite were very clean. The firewood was delivered and under the shelter and started in the fire right away. You can tell the site is loved and the special touch was the hosts left a vase with a bouquet of fresh flowers on one of the picnic tables. After the fire was put out we could hear the deluge of rain start but we stayed warm and dry.

We had such a wonderful weekend! The space is so peaceful and the hosts are lovely. It was so helpful that our pups can be with us and we weren't worried about other campsites. Such a great spot! We will definitely be back!

The campground was nearly perfect. It offered the best of a backpacking experience, without having to pack everything in: a creek with wildlife, in a secluded, serene setting unlike what you will find in a typical public campground. Host Chris greeted us and provided helpful info.
The only thing that marred our experience was the port-a-potty which has been criticized in other reviews. It appeared clean but was clearly in need of pumping out. The odor wafted over the campsite, especially into the nearby covered pavilion where we cooked and ate (until we gave up and moved those activities farther away from the offensive area.) Host Chris claimed that it was pumped out "regularly" except for when we were there. There was only a bottle of dried hand sanitizer in the port-a-potty, something very necessary in a "dry" camp.

Quiet and Relaxing Getaway

This was truly the best spot! Quiet, relaxing, and easy to find thanks to clear directions and communication.
Chris and her husband are THE most friendly, kind, and hospitable hosts I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. They do an incredible job keeping the area clean and welcoming for every camper. The porta potty was spotless, the grounds were well cared for, and we were pleasantly surprised by how level the gravel was for our 25ft trailer - we didn’t have to do any extra work setting up.
We were also surprised by the lack of mosquitos and bugs, which made it so easy to enjoy the space. The horseshoe pits were a highlight for us. We used them multiple times a day during our 4 night stay. Our two dogs and our 1 year old had an absolute blast exploring. The creek was icy cold but perfect for hot afternoons, and the soothing sound of the water made it even better. We were also lucky enough to hear and see great horned owls in the evenings.
All in all, this is a really wonderful place and we are excited to come back! Sad to hear stories in which campers don’t clean up after themselves, so please, as with any camping trip, help take care of this land and clean up after yourself and your dogs.

It was 101 and very tolerable! If we would have camped anywhere else we would have had to leave, but the campsite was perfectly cool! Even my three dogs stayed cool with the concrete pad. So much space to do anything you need. Even with the fire ban the hosts were kind enough to let us use a propane fire stand so we could still have some sort of “camp fire” in a safe way. Can not recommend enough!
