Spacious Mowed Lawn In Wooded Area.
I couldn’t say enough nice things about this place - It was absolutely lovely with the trickling little river lulling us to sleep at night, the birds singing a sweet melody to wake us in the morning, the massive fire pit that you could fit a whole family around, and the pavilion with multiple tables and a cute little propane heater to stay warm just incase there is a rainy day. This was all tucked away in a beautiful forest which made it feel very secluded. We had such an amazing time!

Just what I needed! As a solo female camping with only my soulpup, this slice of heaven is spectacular! I arrived on a day that the sky opened up and it poured for hours. I even got stopped by a road closure for a downed tree 20 minutes up the road on arrival. Chris was in constant communication when I let her know I’d be delayed for checking in. She and Jack showed up (after I had gotten there and had time to regroup a bit) with an offer for the propane fire pit under the shelter and helped me get it going. We car camped and I accidentally drained my battery overnight. Jack was so nice to come jump it for me the next morning. All of this was above and beyond as hosts if you ask me. As far as the property, it’s such a nice mix of lawn space and wild space. Amenities, yet wilderness. The covered shelter offers a space to relax, even in the rain. The tent deck was the perfect spot for meditation and taking in scenery that had me constantly in awe. And the sound of the flowing creek was so calming. To address some points I noticed in previous reviews,…the portapotty was spotless when I was there. And there was zero scent or odor, even with the heavy rains and wind. Yes, there is a neighborhood pup who randomly strolls through. I have a selectively reactive pup and he didn’t so much as bark at her. I legit think this old girl gives off some kind of calming aura about her! Not even space to rave as much as this place deserves! Perfection!

Warm and dry even in a storm

This was the second time we stayed at Chris’ HipCamp and both times we camped under Er the shelter knowing the rain was coming. The portable toilet and campsite were very clean. The firewood was delivered and under the shelter and started in the fire right away. You can tell the site is loved and the special touch was the hosts left a vase with a bouquet of fresh flowers on one of the picnic tables. After the fire was put out we could hear the deluge of rain start but we stayed warm and dry.

We had such a wonderful weekend! The space is so peaceful and the hosts are lovely. It was so helpful that our pups can be with us and we weren't worried about other campsites. Such a great spot! We will definitely be back!

The campground was nearly perfect. It offered the best of a backpacking experience, without having to pack everything in: a creek with wildlife, in a secluded, serene setting unlike what you will find in a typical public campground. Host Chris greeted us and provided helpful info.
The only thing that marred our experience was the port-a-potty which has been criticized in other reviews. It appeared clean but was clearly in need of pumping out. The odor wafted over the campsite, especially into the nearby covered pavilion where we cooked and ate (until we gave up and moved those activities farther away from the offensive area.) Host Chris claimed that it was pumped out "regularly" except for when we were there. There was only a bottle of dried hand sanitizer in the port-a-potty, something very necessary in a "dry" camp.

This was truly the best spot! Quiet, relaxing, and easy to find thanks to clear directions and communication.
Chris and her husband are THE most friendly, kind, and hospitable hosts I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. They do an incredible job keeping the area clean and welcoming for every camper. The porta potty was spotless, the grounds were well cared for, and we were pleasantly surprised by how level the gravel was for our 25ft trailer - we didn’t have to do any extra work setting up.
We were also surprised by the lack of mosquitos and bugs, which made it so easy to enjoy the space. The horseshoe pits were a highlight for us. We used them multiple times a day during our 4 night stay. Our two dogs and our 1 year old had an absolute blast exploring. The creek was icy cold but perfect for hot afternoons, and the soothing sound of the water made it even better. We were also lucky enough to hear and see great horned owls in the evenings.
All in all, this is a really wonderful place and we are excited to come back! Sad to hear stories in which campers don’t clean up after themselves, so please, as with any camping trip, help take care of this land and clean up after yourself and your dogs.

It was 101 and very tolerable! If we would have camped anywhere else we would have had to leave, but the campsite was perfectly cool! Even my three dogs stayed cool with the concrete pad. So much space to do anything you need. Even with the fire ban the hosts were kind enough to let us use a propane fire stand so we could still have some sort of “camp fire” in a safe way. Can not recommend enough!

This is a hidden gem of a spot. I almost don't want to tell you how great it is and keep it a secret. The host is great with easy, friendly, clear communication. They answered any questions right away.
The sight was great for myself and 2 friends. It is beautiful and has a covered pavilion with a few picnic tables that provided shelter for our 2 days of camping in the rain. It was quiet. There are big beautiful cedars along w a few lovely Japanese maples. A clear babbling creek. A big area of mown grass. Ample space to park or camp. We all had a great time.

I did get to meet Chris and she is a very pleasant person to talk with and cares about her campsite. Clean, well laid out, tons of space, a relaxing place, with a burbling creek. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants spend some time at a quiet, relaxing getaway.

We loved our time at this camp site. Chris was so nice and helpful! There is a ton of space for tents and lawn games. The creek running through is gorgeous and refreshing. We had a large group and we all had plenty of room. We can't wait to go back!

Very beautiful relaxing campground. Everything as described and better in person. We had a large group and there was plenty of room. The creek was very beautiful and so nice to sit next to. Definitely would recommend this oasis of a campground.

This is a beautiful spot, we ended up going while it was in the mid 90s for a couple days and there was plenty of shade and felt like we stayed in the 80s..
Chris was a wonderful host, she told us they lay out of the land and recommended a couple stores and some places to swim, definitely can’t wait to come back in the future!

This campsite was extremely spacious and had great features! A large covered area with 5 picnic tables, large grassy area to set a volleyball net, shallow creek for the kids, plenty of parking and the biggest fire pit I've ever seen! Chris was extremely welcoming and very responsive. Definitely worth the drive!

Quiet and secluded with a small stream (great for kids and dogs to walk in, no floating or swimming as it is not deep enough for that). My kids (11 and 7) enjoyed looking for neat rocks and playing with dolls in the creek. Sitting facing the creek, you look out onto deciduous trees and shrubs. I loved that there was a large, clean covered area with multiple tables to be able to immediately unload camping gear onto and be in the shade. It just felt relaxing as soon as we pulled up. Spacious and private enough that you could be moderately loud and feel like you aren't bothering anyone (this spot is located in a neighborhood but the houses are spread far apart). CLEAN port-a-potty (I didn't know that those existed prior to this trip, kudos to Chris). I love how tidy the site was and how much flat area there was for tents, badminton, Cornhole, or whatever you may want to do. Wood for sale. Amazing, huge fire pit. Chris is friendly and low-key, she checked in on us a couple of hours after our arrival and chatted a bit, then we were left alone. Great spot for kids small and large, they can be "alone" playing in the shade under some trees or down one of the trails to the creek and they can still hear you calling them. There's a "front lawn" next to the parking area that is separated from the "main lawn", which would be perfect if you have two families or couples who want different areas in which to set up tents. Great vibes here. Looking forward to coming back.

This is a gem of a camping site! Very private, the covered table area is awesome - it provided great shade on a warm day. The sounds of the creek is so soothing and there is lots of space to spread out tents. The port-a-potty was clean. My kids loved the horse shoe pit and grassy space to play in! We took a quick trip over to Cresap Bay day use area to get in some lake swimming! Chris was a fantastic host and it was so nice to buy wood on-site (a large bundle plus kindling for a reasonable price!). Can’t wait to camp here again!

We had an absolutely delightful stay! So peaceful with birds singing & a babbling brook - with a place to park our lawn chairs on beside it. It was very private and well kept and Chris was super friendly when she popped by to see if we needed anything. Cresap Bay was a short drive to launch our kayaks. We plan to book again!

What a wonderful peaceful little paradise! We loved the pavilion for food prep and storage. The babbling brook is delightful and the space is ample and fun for games. The porta potty was clean. This is a real gem.

We stayed here with a large group and several trailers. The space was perfect and easy to set up in. The nearby creek was a big hit, especially with the kids, and made the setting peaceful and fun. The gazebo was a great central spot for meals and games. The fire pit was the perfect size for the whole group to gather around at night. Highly recommend for anyone planning a group getaway!
