This is a gorgeous park-like campground situated between the trees of the arboretum. Beautiful view of the mountains and forests here in western Washington. We are close to Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier and several lakes. There are walking trails all around the site. The 12 acre campground is located on a 136 acre property that is an active Christmas tree farm. Trails continue throughout the tree farm. Many trails have a view of the Tilton River, which can be reached via a challenging 3/4 mile trail. Sites are on 10 acres planted with many different species of trees that are about 25 years old. Giant Redwoods, Cedars, and Maples are just a few of the varieties present. Part of the farm is still a working Christmas tree farm. The trails are wide and grassy. There is an old logging road that we use as a trail to the river. With an elevation change of about 500 feet, the trail can be quite challenging. Bear Creek empties into the Tilton river at the end of the trail. There is an ART GALLERY where you can learn to pound flowers, see the host's artwork and get a cup of coffee! This is upstairs above the shop, right on the property. Tilton River Studio Gallery. Member of ARTrails of Southwest Washington. Every site has a water spigot (use a pressure regulator if you want to hook up). No restrooms or sewer hookups. Garbage disposal site available Memorial Day to Labor Day. We look forward to hosting you!

It simply doesn't get better than this place. Like camping in a beautiful park. Great family place but they were very welcoming to a solo traveler. Barb and Terry are super nice and accommodating.

Love Coyote Cabin
It is quiet, beautiful and lots of room to play! Great for family and friends gatherings. This trip we had two trailers and used the cabin for family staying overnight. The location is perfect…..surrounded by trees for privacy.

This place is awesome. The hosts are very friendly and will be there when you need them but leave you alone if you don’t. Absolutely beautiful place to camp/relax. If you have the ability to dry camp, try this one out. You won’t regret it.

The Arboretum - Cedars
I booked the Cedars for our last camping trip of the 2022 season but after arriving, we shifted our group to the Coyote Cabin site. The Cedars is beautiful with tall trees to shade from the summer sun. It was just a little too shady for early Fall, though. We will likely stay there in mid summer months. We moved to the Coyote Cabin because we had a group of 3 RVs and the size of the site accommodated us perfectly… plus it was much sunnier! We all had a wonderful stay there. We have been to The Arboretum 4 times May-September staying in different sites. Coyote Cabin was a great gathering place with plenty of room to play an assortment of outdoor games and allow 5 well behaved dogs to hang out. Barb and Terry are the most gracious, interesting and lovely hosts! Barb has her beautiful gallery and pounded flower workshop and Terry sells delicious honey and vinegar. This HipCamp location is gorgeous and super relaxing…..rain or shine!

Mimi's Pond Site
Beautiful camping site
Mimi’s Pond Site was beautiful, very large and open and we loved walking around the pond. The chairs on the dock made for a beautiful view of the sunset each night. Barb and Terry were very nice and just came around a couple times to make sure we didn’t need anything. We loved camping here and will definitely be booking again!

Beautiful grassy sites for boondock
Lovely quiet secluded campsites, with trees all around. There is a small playground in the center. The sites are very spacious and grassy. A wonderful place with Mountain View’s. My only complaint was the cost with no hookups, I’d stay again but not as often as I’d like because of the cost with no amenities. Overall very satisfied with our stay, our hosts were lovely people and very helpful when needed.

Dark Sky Camping
Barb and Terry make your stay at the Arboretum wonderful! It is so quiet, beautiful sunsets, very dark skies. You can actually see the Milky Way!! The grounds are well maintained. The hike down to the Tilton River is steep but the trail is maintained. We will definitely return!

Best Hipcamp Yet.
I don’t know where to begin. We loved everything about this site. We choose this site to use as a base camp for Mt. Rainier National Park and Mt. Saint Helens and it worked perfectly. The property was beautifully maintained. We have never seen so many perfect Christmas trees. The camp sites were very spacious with large grassy areas. We were lucky enough to be the only campers there for most of our stay. So, we felt like the entire campground was just for us. But, even if it was full, there was enough space for every site to feel private. The hike down to the river was very enjoyable albeit steep on the way back. And, the hosts were more than gracious. Barb checked on us just enough and promptly answered any question we had. She gave us a tour of her art studio which we very much enjoyed. She is an amazing artist. We truly hated to leave. Thank you Barb and Terry for letting us stay on your gorgeous property.

This place is gem!
I absolutely loved camping here! Spacious and private site, well kept and clean. Just us, the trees, birds, and fresh air. Thank you, Barb, for the opportunity to stay on your land. We hope to be back soon—I would love to take your flower pounding workshop.

Quiet, relaxing RV spot
We loved our week at the Arboretum. The sites are surrounded by a huge mature pine grove of all types. Quiet and peaceful setting. Was a great launch point for Mount Rainier National Park and we played in the water at the nearby lakes and rivers. Loved loved the River Trail - this is a slightly intensive hike down to an ultra private segment of the river where we whiled away the hot afternoon in the cool, clear water. Barb is an excellent host, she checked on us just enough and we enjoyed time in her art gallery and learning to fly drones with her. Note: there is no garbage on site so plan accordingly. Our site had a water spigot which made all the difference for our hot week long stay. We look forward to coming back in the RV. Thank you so much Barb!

This is our second trip to The Arboretum. Cedars is a gorgeous quiet spot to camp with friends. Our kids enjoyed the play area and we spent a wonderful afternoon paddle boarded at Ike Kinswa State Park down the road. We will certainly be back again.

Hidden Gem
Great place to get away from it all. Very peaceful and beautiful surroundings. Not a bad site at this spot. LARGE private sites. Barb is very creative and loves to share her artwork. Very quick to respond to questions and so helpful. We will definitely be back!! I’m almost afraid to recommend this hidden gem because I want it all for myself. We did the hike down to the river. For a couple of oldsters it took us awhile to get back up the hill but we did it and felt like we still have it. Loved visiting the gallery and seeing all the amazing artwork. So talented. Wonderful relaxing weekend. If you’re into noise, crowded campsites and loud neighbors this is NOT the place for you. Thank you Barb and Terry for sharing your place.

It’s a beautiful, open spot in the middle of tall trees. The area is immaculate and the hosts are incredibly nice and helpful. Barb came to our site to greet us soon after arrival. We had plenty of room for our 27 ft 5th wheel and a friends trailer as well. This was our 2nd trip and have already reserved a 3rd trip with our camping buddies!

Never Disappoints
This was our 4th trip to the Arboretum, and it continues to be the best HipCamp property we have experienced. Barb and Terry are wonderful to deal with and very responsive. The location is perfect for exploring the awesome nearby lakes and hiking but the property offers plenty to do if you want to remain on site. One addition Barb made since our first 3 trips is offering art classes in her art studio. My wife and daughter did a Pounded Flower Workshop and had a fantastic time. It was a great option for a day with less-than-ideal weather. We look forward to our next stay and highly recommend The Arboretum.

Cedar grove
Barb and Terry's property is just beautiful. We stayed in the cedar area. We had cow visitors in the evening and a beautiful view of their field of wild flowers and grasses. Our neighbors were playing music pretty loudly when we got there. Shortly after arriving Barb greeted us and asked them to turn it down. We would definitely come back.

camping in peace and quiet
We had an awesome time at mimis pond camp site. It was very quiet and serene. We went for 4th of July to escape all the noise and it met our hopes. The camp host had a gallery and held a fun art class for anyone that wanted to join. Also theres some very wonderful art to purchase in the gallery. There is a trail down to the river and some other areas to take walks around the property. Barb and Terry take exceptional care of the property, the ground are beautiful. You can offer wood and the deliver right to your site. You'll enjoy this site, I'm sure of it.

Can’t get enough
We had a blast our second time here, and even with every site booked, we had plenty of privacy and space to ourselves . Took advantage of a steep hike down to the river, and even got to check out the gallery! Do yourself a favor and bring the family for a safe enjoyable slice of nature! Will be back to picnic on the river bed soon!
