Named one of the best Hipcamps to visit in 2023.
This is a quiet and secluded camping location with ACCESS to the river, access to farm land, ponds and DNR land. Our camp spots are private and not stacked on top of each other. We also have cows in our neighboring farm and places for you to walk, trails to hike and places to fish and duck hunt. Right now we have dry camping with outdoor honey buckets. Our goal is to have showers and running water soon. We are working on a 💯 solar ran facility soon. We are wanting something that you can clear your mind, camp In peace. We want our campers to help in the developing process. We also offer wood for sale and all of our sites have wood burning areas. We also have ice and delivery services. WE ARE VW Friendly!!! Lol We are about 45 minutes from ocean beaches, only a few minutes from the best riding, hiking and boating in the world. We have a cute bar and restaurant within a mile. Also gas and groceries are close as well. Boat launch is about 1/2 a block easy access. You will have a secluded spot all your own without people stacked on top of you. Lots of river and low bank river access within walking distance. We also border DNR land. This is wooded and nice. Lots of hiking, siting or fishing by the river. Boat launch across the street, swimming and ATVs are able to drive up on DNR land. We are open year-round for hunters of all kinds and campers. We want to grow with a community. *We are a new campground we are working out the bugs of this site and our land. If you are an impatient person or an unhappy person, please do not stay with us. Life happens and we can only adjust to each circumstance as they come along. With that said the site does not have an address as we are a wilderness area, we like to meet and great all our campers. This is $28 folks it’s not the Ritz's… Please be honest, its 4 people (1 family) PER camp spot. That doesn't mean 4 friends with 4 cars, 4 tents, 3 kids and 4 dogs.  if you have more people in your party, please book more spots accordingly. Yes, you have to walk to the bathroom, yes there is a river, but you have to walk to it less than 40 to 200 yards depending on where you stay!! There is a boat launch, but you have to launch your own boat, there might be a train that pops by once in a while. It’s harmless, it doesn’t toot its horn or anything and it’s slow. Do we have wild animals YES!!! So be aware of your surroundings. ATVS are ok in the Capital Forrest which is just down the road. We do not allow Atvs On our land except in your camping spot and down the road to go to the capital Forrest or drive our roads to swimming areas. Wood when it rains gets wet!!! So, if it’s in a stack it can absorb water. What if the combination of my truck and trailer exceeds 30ft? Well, we are experienced and still might be able to help if you ask. But our policy is 30 total feet or less. We do our best to help EVERYONE, however if you don’t ask you don’t know and the ones that don’t know always assume so be sure to ask. We love helping people that are happy and ready to relax. If your amped up, we will ask you to leave we DOOOOOO NOT WANT TO DEAL WITH RUDE OR UNREASONABLE PEOPLE PEROID. Remember this is my 1000 acres and I choose to share it very cheap to those that can’t enjoy this kind of stuff, when it becomes a hassle, I shut the gates and let friends and family enjoy. Keep things clean and be respectful and kind to your other campers!!! Thanks Robby. NOTE: We offer ice delivered right to your spot!!!!! We also have wood in every spot and available for purchase. Please let us know your needs!! Update as of 9/7/2022: There is talk about sites at river, we have some in their premature stage. This is not offered through our Hip Camp site yet. However, we do upon arrival let people stay right on the water on a case-by-case deal. There are reasons for this: When we initially opened, we allowed people to camp there through Hip Camp and I was getting low stars ratings because Entitled people thought for $28 bucks, they got the whole river to themselves and would fight with other campers, than they would cry because the bathroom was too far. IT JUST GOT TO EXHAUSTING. So now I do it judging by the vibe the camper gives me when they arrive. Next year I’m going to try to set up some premium sites on the river and work super hard at getting amenities that will match that price. But for now, Enjoy Camp Hope and the river too!! We appreciate the wonderful feedback everyone gives it helps us grow with you!! Thanks Robby Update: We are also toying around with the idea of a VW BUS Camping experience. This would a nights stay in your own Vw westfalia Bus. The spots would have camp pits, concrete sitting area and a bus suite for your sleeping and lounging needs, these sites would also have 12volt solar power lighting systems. My question to the community is what is a fair price for a stay like that?

Peaceful Stay
The sites are relatively private. There was a group of people staying nearby that were friendly. Since it was our first time they were kind enough to give us the lay of the land. The firewood is very handy.

We love Camp Hope!
Another relaxing and peaceful stay here at Camp Hope. Our family loves coming here and swimming and doing floats down the river. It’s great sitting in the evening around our campfire and having a good dinner and conversation with everyone. Robbie is awesome and brought us ice when we needed. We really appreciate that! Thank you again for opening up your place for us to come and camp!

RV and TENT camping River ACCESS
A Turn for the Worse
Our camping experience started out with a quiet location that was dispersed from other sites. The river access is great and easy to get to. I was very excited to see that we had chosen what seemed to be a great camping location. However, things started taking a turn for the worse. People from various sites were loud and disrespectful at different times of the day. The train that goes through the property is loud and goes by a few times in the day. At night and in the daytime there were multiple gunshots that were fired. People’s pets were barking and became frantic. The last day at the campsite multiple people left as early as 6am because I am sure they were just as irritated. The straw that broke the camel’s back was during the morning we were due to depart. As my husband and I were packing to leave someone stole my phone from our campsite. That being said, we have been to places all over the states and abroad and this has never happened to us. I really wanted to give this place a chance, but as a result we won’t return or recommend this campsite. If you choose to stay at Camp Hope that is your choice you have been warned.

RV and TENT camping River ACCESS
It was quite enjoyable to stay at Camp Hope! We went on a holiday weekend mixed with a weekend that had high temps. The campsite was almost full, which was to be expected for the holiday weekend. The river area was a LIFE and weekend saver! We spent as much time down by the river as possible. We plan on coming back again, one stay wasn’t enough

Fantastic
We really enjoyed how quiet the camp was. It was a quick walk to the river for swimming and a short drive into Oakville for supplies. The campsite is clean! Only negative is the toileting, it was really full and needs to be pumped out.
