This is a gorgeous park-like RV campground situated between the trees of the arboretum. NO TENTS, please. Also we have NO PUBLIC RESTROOMS. Beautiful view of the mountains and forests here in western Washington. We are close to Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier and several lakes. There are walking trails all around the site. The 12 acre campground is located on a 136 acre property that is an active Christmas tree farm. Trails continue throughout the tree farm. Many trails have a view of the Tilton River, which can be reached via a challenging 3/4 mile trail. Sites are on 12 acres planted with many different species of trees that are about 30 years old. Giant Redwoods, Cedars, and Maples are just a few of the varieties present. Part of the farm is still a working Christmas tree farm. The trails are wide and grassy. The old logging road that we use as a trail to the river has an elevation change of about 500 feet, the trail can be quite challenging. Bear Creek empties into the Tilton river at the end of the trail. There is an ART GALLERY where you can learn to pound flowers, see the host's artwork and get a cup of coffee! This is upstairs through the check-in entry-way. Tilton River Studio Gallery. Three sites have electrical hookups. Every site has a water spigot (use a pressure regulator if you want to hook up). No restrooms or sewer hookups. Garbage disposal site (dumpster) available Memorial Day to Labor Day. We look forward to hosting you!

Overview

About

RV Travelers, Fifth Wheelers, Airstreamers and Motorhomers, we’ve found a perfect place to park your home. Large, paved, level sites, full hookups, a lake view and huge shady trees? Is this a dream or what! Taidnapam Park is a tucked away and untainted forest on the east side of Riffe Lake. Use it as a base camp for exploring nearby Mt. Rainier or Mt. St. Helens, fish from the heights on Taidnapam’s fishing bridge or unearth artifacts from old Native American settlements. This park has lots of gentle trails for cruisin’, easy walking and wildlife viewing, as well as a huge grassy area for tossing the ball around and gettin’ your play on! If you like to adventure underwater, there’s also a big swimming area to do just that. Whether you are backing-in or pulling-through, the sites are private, spacious and able to handle your entire traveling family and getup. Come one night and you just might end up staying forever!

Notable campgrounds

  • Water, electric, and sewer hookups - Enjoy the convenience of full-service camping amid towering trees.
  • Water and electric hookups - Ideal for those seeking a blend of comfort and the rustic outdoors.
  • Walk-in tent sites - Perfect for adventurers who prefer a more intimate connection with nature.

Tips for snagging a campsite

  • Book up to nine months in advance for peak season dates between May 15 and Sept. 15.
  • For off-peak visits, take advantage of walk-in availability from Sept. 16 to May 14.
  • Remember to check for seasonal closures before planning your trip.
  • Explore nearby camping options to ensure you have a spot, especially during busy weekends or holidays.

When to go

The best time to visit Taidnapam Park is between May 15 and Sept. 15, when all facilities are open and the weather is most favorable for outdoor activities. However, for those seeking solitude, the off-peak season offers a quieter experience, with walk-in sites available.

Know before you go

  • Check current lake levels and burn ban information before your visit for a safe experience.
  • Be mindful of heavy log truck traffic on the road leading to the park.
  • Day-use parking fees apply on weekends and holidays from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
  • Respect the park's septic system by avoiding the use of RV holding tank chemicals.
  • Prepare for changes in weather and bring appropriate gear for a comfortable stay.
