'Royal Heart Hill' is at the very end of a Dead-End road, which means no sound or light pollution from passing cars or nearby residences. Surrounded by BLM and Timber properties, while being 6 miles from downtown CG (7 miles from the I5) and 30 miles from downtown Eugene.
All guests have access to the outdoor shower, which is connected to the Dome. Please use biodegradable soap in the shower! Potable water spigots are located by the carport and at the top of the steps leading down to our platform site. Each site has its own composting toilet, fire-pit, electrical outlet and hammock.
Nearby access to: two lakes for swimming and fishing, waterfalls and cliff-jumping, hiking and biking trails, dining, wineries, breweries, shopping and more. I am happy to offer suggestions and share what I know- please ask!
UPDATE: The timber acreage that borders our property- to the west and north of Overholser Road- was harvested winter 2024.
The property consists of Oak savanna, mixed conifer woodland, camas meadow, undulating hills and a SMALL pond (home to many rough-skinned newts- no swimming or fishing). At our domestead we practice permaculture, native habitat restoration and regenerative forestry.
Poison oak is present on the property! I have done my best to clear it from camping areas and trails. Tecnu is provided in the outdoor shower.
There is a mile long loop that goes around the whole property, which we keep mowed and accessible. Hipcampers are encouraged to use the loop to explore the property. To access- walk south/downhill toward the pond signs and follow the mowed path through the meadow and back up toward the road, which will take you back to your campsite. I have included a screenshot of the loop as recorded by my Strava app, which is in the property photos.
The property hosts a geodesic play-dome and slack-line (during the dry months) up by the green dome/outdoor shower. Guests may play on these at their own risk- the closest hospital is 7 miles away.

Our farm is nestled in the Honey Grove Creek valley in the lush coastal mountains. The creek meanders through our seven acre property. The north side contains a field, small orchard, greenhouses and barn. The south side is steep and wooded with healthy riparian. An extension to the Honey Grove Trail leads out of the property accessing a user maintained hiking/mountain biking trail with 1.5, 3, 5 and 7 mile loop options.
Other nearby activities include hiking and mountain biking in Mary's Peak and Alsea Falls recreational area. Access to the Alsea River is located 2.25 miles from the property on Honey Grove Road or at nearby Clemmons Park.
The guest cabin has two rooms and can sleep (4) guests comfortably and up to (6) guests. It contains (2) queen size beds, and one pull out couch. One bed is in a loft accessed by a ship ladder. There is a small kitchen and an un-attached bathhouse. The toilet is non-flush, composting. From the designated parking area there is a 200 foot walk along a gravel path to the cabin.
Other features include a fire pit, sauna, and creek access for cold dips and kid play. Internet is available in the cabin. There is a Level 1 vehicle charger available for guests.
The property also contains a host residence. The area around the residence is for the hosts but guests are welcome with permission from the hosts.
The cabin and the property are very quaint and inviting but also very rustic. Do not be surprised to see a few (or many) spiders, slugs and other bugs. There are occasional bunnies, wild turkeys, Garter Snakes by the ponds and Newts on the trails. Please maintain good situational awareness when enjoying the property as structures and grounds may have some inherent hazards.
The barn is off limits. Greenhouse and gardens are fine to explore as long as doors and gates are closed and dogs are kept out. Please refrain from harvesting produce and/or eggs unless accompanied or given permission from hosts directly.

Close to the farm is world class mountain biking, hiking, fishing, waterfalls, great views, and surfing on the Oregon coast. The camp spot is a very private grassy nook nestled next to Honey Grove Creek.
There are nature trails on the property with blackberry bushes. We offer farm fresh eggs, firewood bundles, and as the garden begins to ramp up- we will offer all the veggies to campers including goat cheese! We can do cash or Venmo payments.

One mile from I-5, you may pitch your tent or park your van in a meadow near some fir trees bordering Elk Creek. Feel the restful flow of water bringing tranquility. Follow hiking trails along the creek, through groves of trees, or play in the singing creek. There is another hiking trail to another portion of the creek to the right of the road that passes by the barn. A sign on an oak tree indicates the edge of the large mowed meadow that will take you to another sign for the trail to the creek.
When entering the property at the county road, you’ll see a big Century Farm sign on the left at the driveway entrance.
Continue past a brown machine shed. You will see two apple trees on your left. Just beyond the apple trees is a sign, on a big fir tree. This sign points to the direction of the campsite. Shaped like an arrow it points to the mowed path down to the creek and campsite which you may drive.
Uphill from the campsite is a trail going through a small copse of trees that leads up to the red barn. On the left, at the entrance to the barn, is a bathroom complete with sink and shower. Towels are not provided.
Beneath the apple trees is a faucet with potable drink safety hose and a bucket for your use.

Our campsite is nestled among the trees next to the river. There's lots to enjoy. Do you like hiking? Silver Falls State Park is only 36 miles away. Boating? You can put in your kayak/canoe at Gills Landing in Lebanon and float down the river back to the campsite. Fishing? Bring your fishing pole and try catch and release in our pond. Swimming? Take a swim in the cool water. Of course, you can just relax by the water's edge and enjoy the tranquility provided by the soothing flow of the river.
This 192 sq. ft. cabin is very basic. There is no shower, but there is a portable toilet with a wash station located outside. We do provide a full 5-gallon water cooler for drinking since there is no running water. For cooking there is a 24" Blackstone 2-burner griddle, and small propane cans are provided. Also, the cabin is furnished with a small supply of pots and pans. There is a battery that provides lighting, and phone charging is available in the cabin. During the cooler months, there is a small wood stove for heating, and firewood is provided. The cabin sleeps 2, but there is room for a camper and/or tents. This campsite is meant to be very simple, so you should plan on bringing whatever you may need/want for camping.

Rustic off-grid forest sanctuary with wood-fired sauna. Home of 50 yr old historic rhododendron garden. Nestled in the coastal range of western Oregon lies our 50-acre property surrounded by a lush forest. Explore the garden trails to find your bliss at a meditation station. Lead your own yoga session at the covered pavilion. Relax in a hammock. Walk our quiet country road or hike a strenuous private logging road for a view at the top. The rhododendron and vegetable gardens span a few acres. There is an old orchard with a blueberry and raspberry patch, and you have a small homestead to explore. This includes horses, sheep, dogs, and ducks. The gardens, and forest are free for roaming with respect to the plants, animals, and human residents. Use of the wood-fired sauna is included in your stay. It must be scheduled at least an hour in advance to ensure a host is available to light it for you. A warm shower is located inside the sauna house. It is available 24/7. A composting toilet is located near the Rhododendron Garden Parking area. Our campground is small to promote a peaceful experience. We currently offer 2 sites, with a 3rd in progress. The Zen Den is an off-grid glamping experience in a round, wooden, cozy bungalow overlooking the rhododendron garden (max 2), and the Peace Pad tent platform, an 14 x 14 raised wooden platform ready for your tent, in a meadow next to a gently flowing creek (max 4 adults). Four permanent residences also enjoy the beauty of Nelson Mountain Gardens. Each are separate and away from the campsites. You are welcome to bring your well-behaved dog(s). Limit 2. Horses are welcome with prior approval. Please let us know when booking. There is no cell phone service in our rural area. Limited wi-fi is available in parts of the rhododendron garden and at the barn for making necessary calls (no downloading, streaming or extended video calls). A phone charging station is located in the sauna house and in the shared loft / kitchen. Parking onsite is free. Smoking or vaping anything is prohibited inside all structures on the property. Smoking anything that requires fire is prohibited except inside your vehicle or on the paved road off of the property. Vaping is ok anywhere outside.

moss covered forest with friendly folks
welcoming you to stop off and rest.
Nights are quiet with faint to no road noise or light pollution.
The driveway and grounds are flat with safe
gated parking space for cars/vans and small-med sized trailers, tents etc. It is our pleasure to offer you a safe space to camp with your friends and family.

Mosswood is on 5 acres of mostly forested land, there's usually a project going (or three).
We've recently finished building a barn workshop, a covered timber frame deck in the meadow, and a very unique woven tree net that you'll be sure to enjoy!
No dogs living here, just one friendly cat, otherwise it's squirrels, birds, and the occasional wild turkey procession or coyote.
There is a large garden, and when growing season is on, we may send you packing with some fresh greens or veggies! If you see us out and about, feel free to come say hello or ask questions.
We love sharing good conversations and ideas about how to live well and stay excited about all things.

We really enjoyed staying at this site! Lots of privacy and beautiful views. The Pioneer Cemetery was very interesting and is a must see. Our Hosts were very thoughtful and respectful of our privacy. How much did we like it? So much, we stopped there again on our way home. Thanks so much for the great camping site. A rare find.

Our family had the best time, even with all the rain this weekend! The cabin was perfect for our kids and grandson and the property was spacious enough for us to have our travel trailer. We explored, found beautiful rocks, and relaxed by the campfire. Would totally recommend!

1 night at Glamping on the North Santiam River
We had an amazing experience here. The land is both beautiful and private, which is exactly what I was looking for. The lodging was so cozy and it was immediately clear how much effort the hosts put into to making it so. Big fan of the cows (here and in general) and the river was awesome too! Already regret only staying one night.

20 ft truck camper
We spent 4 peaceful and relaxing nights at Moon Shadow Meadows. We got the beautiful spot #42, The Sum of the Universe, which is remote from the other sites and has a stunning view. There was one other camper there for 2 of the nights but we never heard or saw them. We saw lots of deer and wild turkeys and went for long walks. Jason and Carmen were really communicative when we needed them but left us alone to relax and enjoy the clean, fresh air the rest of the time.

I would give them 10 stars if I could. The hosts were super warm and welcoming, they brought ice and firewood to our site whenever we asked to purchase more. It’s a nice secluded area next to the water and not far from Florence. Quiet hours were respected by all visitors and all facilities were spotless and clean.

Weekend Trip to Shelter at Castle Rock Farm🏕️🚐
Richard was communicative and helpful, and the space he and his father have created is just perfect. The land was spectacular, the amenities were exactly what we needed, and the campsite felt cozy and spacious at the same time. Jean and his sweet dogs were so incredibly kind and welcoming. He invited our entire family (including the group's 6 kids) to explore the garden and property and gave us helpful local hints. We feel so lucky to have found this spot and will definitely be back.

We had such a lovely stay! The property was beautiful and well kept. Deer kept us company. The amenities were exactly what we needed. One of. Favorite parts were the extras. I ordered, fresh eggs, a bouquet of sunflowers and a little succulent that I keep in my office window to remember my stay. Oh! It was extra special that we got to stay on a full moon!

The Big Maple Campsite Site at Shelter at Castle Rock Farm was a wonderful camping experience. Richard‘s property is quiet, peaceful, and removed enough that you feel like you‘re staying in your own slice of paradise. Between the comfortable tent set up, hammocks, and surrounding meadows, there are plenty of places to relax.
The site leaves you immersed in nature with abundant wildlife, and is also just a quick drive from any convenience/staples you might need (as well as some great hiking trails).
The outdoor camp kitchen makes cooking and clean up simple.
Richard was friendly, informative, and made sure we had what we needed. He was even kind enough to share some fresh produce from his garden. Daisy, his pup, was friendly as well:) He has thought of many of the extras you might need, leaving really just the essentials to pack.
We will definitely be back to enjoy this space again!

We loved our stay at Nelson Mountain Gardens! Alys and Mary were communicative and understanding of our friendly but vocal dogs. Even their horse was very calm and patient with them barking at him. Otherwise, our dogs loved being able to run free on the property. It was gorgeous with lots of trees, ferns, mini meadows and a creek running through it. We loved our peace pad tent area, very private with its own fire pit and a nearby outdoor sink for convenience. The garden pathways were magical and the sauna was amazing! A perfect way to spend my birthday weekend!
