Sauna
A little haven of warmth and relaxation.
Our farm is nestled in the Honey Grove Creek valley in the lush coastal mountains. The creek meanders through our seven acre property. The north side contains a field, small orchard, greenhouses and barn. The south side is steep and wooded with healthy riparian. An extension to the Honey Grove Trail leads out of the property accessing a user maintained hiking/mountain biking trail with 1.5, 3, 5 and 7 mile loop options. Other nearby activities include hiking and mountain biking in Mary's Peak and Alsea Falls recreational area. Access to the Alsea River is located 2.25 miles from the property on Honey Grove Road or at nearby Clemmons Park. The guest cabin has two rooms and can sleep (4) guests comfortably and up to (6) guests. It contains (2) queen size beds, and one pull out couch. One bed is in a loft accessed by a ship ladder. There is a small kitchen and an un-attached bathhouse. The toilet is non-flush, composting. From the designated parking area there is a 200 foot walk along a gravel path to the cabin. Other features include a fire pit, sauna, and creek access for cold dips and kid play. Internet is available in the cabin. There is a Level 1 vehicle charger available for guests. The property also contains a host residence. The area around the residence is for the hosts but guests are welcome with permission from the hosts. The cabin and the property are very quaint and inviting but also very rustic. Do not be surprised to see a few (or many) spiders, slugs and other bugs. There are occasional bunnies, wild turkeys, Garter Snakes by the ponds and Newts on the trails. Please maintain good situational awareness when enjoying the property as structures and grounds may have some inherent hazards. The barn is off limits. Greenhouse and gardens are fine to explore as long as doors and gates are closed and dogs are kept out. Please refrain from harvesting produce and/or eggs unless accompanied or given permission from hosts directly. The cabin is nestled in the woods alongside Honeygrove Creek. It is accessed by parking in front of a welcome kiosk and using the short trail from there. There is a wagon guests can use for hauling there things. There is a detached bathhouse on the left with a composting toilet and a hot shower. There are two sleeping areas: The main cabin area has a lofted bed above the kitchen, as well as a living room area and a yoga/work desk area near the front. The second sleeping area is what we call the "Veranda Room" with double doors that open to a back patio and to Honeygrove Creek. Both rooms have electric heaters/AC units. There are paths around the cabin for exploration. One in particular crosses a suspension bridge into the woods. After passing a clear cut stay straight to reenter mature forest. Here you can continue for up to 5 miles on semi maintained trail or do a quick 1.5 mile loop that takes you back to Honeygrove Rd and back to the property. See our tail map when you arrive for details. If you would like to bring a pet please add it the the extras section of your booking after your booking is complete. Pets are an additional $30 per pet. Please add to the extras section after booking (ATTENTION DOG OWNERS: Salmon do spawn in our creek in December/January and dogs who visit during these months who have not previously been exposed to Salmon Poisoning should have limited and monitored access to The Alsea River, other coastal rivers and Honey Grove Creek. Salmon Poisoning is common in Oregon, Washington B.C. and Alaska.) TODDLERS AND INFANTS UNDER 3 YEARS OLD ARE FREE at Alsea Valley Farm (Just don't add them as guests when you book, Hip Camp says it will still insure them). Thank you!

  • Review summary

    Generated from real Hipcamper reviews

The campsite offers a serene and inviting atmosphere, perfect for those looking to immerse themselves in nature. Guests consistently praise the cozy and well-equipped cabins, with many appreciating the thoughtful touches like fresh produce from the garden. The surrounding trails and creek provide ample opportunity for exploration and relaxation. While a few mentioned minor issues, such as a faulty freezer, the hosts' prompt and accommodating responses left a positive impression.

This is a relaxing and unique place, in a forest next to a creek. In addition to the cabin w/ a loft, there's an adjacent/attached bedroom (w/ separate entrance door) and the adjacent bathhouse (w/ shower and toilet). And then there's a sauna building not too far from those buildings. Nice host. Comfy bed (we slept in the downstairs bedroom/next door). Pleasant sauna that's easy to use (has an electric heater). It was a lovely place to be in the early fall. There are some nice trails in the area. Very quiet in the cabin when the cabin heaters aren't running. (For those who are sensitive to noise, you might want ear plugs for sleeping there during heating season, as the older model heat pumps are kinda loud when they come on—at least until you get used to them.) We enjoyed our stay. Two nights was perfect for us.

Danny was a great host. It was a beautiful cabin. Danny greeted us with fresh strawberries and our entire experience was awesome. I would highly recommend.
