Very quiet and peaceful spot! Given privacy during our stay. Bryce was kind and left the gate open for our arrival and open with communication. Very accommodating! Spot a little slanted uphill, not too bad if you have tire blocks. Water pressure nice. Verizon got very little service, AT&T got satellite but was rough, T-Mobile didn’t get service. Take that into mind, though very nice if you’re looking to get away from it all like we were!

we stayed here on our way up and back to Bremerton, so this review is supplemental to my earlier one. As before, this is a great place to stay with all the hook ups and a nice view out over the hillside. Jered is a really easy-going host and again went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable. I'm sure we'll stop back by on our next trip as this site is easy to get to being just a few short miles off of I-5. It's peaceful and quiet at night and well worth the quick jaunt off the freeway to get a good nights sleep.

We stayed 2 nights in late Nov while in the area for a U of O game and it was nice (although quite cold). Go Ducks!! This was a great camping spot that was very private and quiet. We got to Eugene in under 15 minutes. We will likely be back but in warmer weather next time. Thanks for a smooth experience.

The Hosts are always kind and considerate, going out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. The place looks great as they continue to make improvements all around. All amenities for RV hook ups are available and it's a beautiful hillside overlook from the pad.. Easy to get to from I-5 but feels like you're out in the country and very peaceful. We will be back.

Weekend Trip to Umpqua's Last Resort

I absolutely loved staying here in my deluxe cabin! It was the perfect personal retreat I needed, the cabin was super clean and cozy, nice fluffy bath towels and the Wolfgang Puck coffee pods were a treat! The park was quiet and at night I could hear the river from my cabin, there is a nice trail down to the river and I was able to spend time by the river in the evening. The location is so close to many waterfalls! Toby and Dustin are super nice hosts! The shared restrooms were clean and the showers hot! I loved the small trails to wander on next to the park. I cant wait to return as this will be my place to stay this coming year, thank you for providing such a nice place to have a get away from the world! My only request would be to allow for a late check out if needed but I ended up leaving early to see more waterfalls!

Absolutely gorgeous property, a private site with a beautiful view. Very close to Old town Cemetery, with a historic downtown less than 10 minutes drive. In Brownsville, OR. Stayed for 3 weeks for a job in Lebanon, OR so it was close enough for a comfortable drive to and from, out of the hustle and bustle of the bigger city. Livestock in close surrounding areas, lots of deer! And wild turkeys.. also witnessed a lady bug swarm for the first time in life and it was such a great experience! Host was very accommodating, helpful and friendly, also gave advice on what to check out for holiday festivities while staying. Fire pit included! ☺️🦃🌳🦌🐄🐃🐓🪦They also have all hook ups available for your RV as well as recycling and garbage can for trash etc. Would absolutely stay again. Its giving Sleepy Hollow vibes ❤️

We put in campsites, a cabin, a barn loft, and a fire pit. We offer these to guests when not being used by our family and friends. Wildlife includes deer, turkey, and quail & 3 active beehives. Guests are welcome to fresh eggs from the chicken coop. We are fully fenced and gated for your family and pets protection. South Santiam River is less than 1 mile for fishing, kayaking, or rafting. Foster reservoir is 30 minutes away and Green Peter Reservoir is 45 minutes away for boating, swimming, and fishing. There is a loop exercise trail that circles the property and offers 30-degree climbs. You can also play games inside or basketball outside. We thought it would be great to have family gatherings and get togethers here and think of this as our slice of heaven, and hope others enjoy it as well.

*Please read FULL site description and rules before booking so you know what to expect and what is expected of you!* 'Royal Heart Hill' is at the very end of a Dead-End road, which means no sound or light pollution from passing cars or nearby residences. Surrounded by BLM and Timber properties, while being 6 miles from downtown CG (7 miles from the I5) and 30 miles from downtown Eugene. All guests have access to the outdoor shower, which is connected to the Dome. Please use biodegradable soap in the shower! Potable water spigots are located by the carport and at the top of the steps leading down to our platform site. Each site has its own composting toilet, fire-pit, electrical outlet and hammock. Nearby access to: two lakes for swimming and fishing, waterfalls and cliff-jumping, hiking and biking trails, dining, wineries, breweries, shopping and more. I am happy to offer suggestions and share what I know- please ask! UPDATE: The timber acreage that borders our property- to the west and north of Overholser Road- was harvested winter 2024. The property consists of Oak savanna, mixed conifer woodland, camas meadow, undulating hills and a SMALL pond (home to many rough-skinned newts- no swimming or fishing). At our domestead we practice permaculture, native habitat restoration and regenerative forestry. Poison oak is present on the property! I have done my best to clear it from camping areas and trails. Tecnu is provided in the outdoor shower. There is a mile long loop that goes around the whole property, which we keep mowed and accessible. Hipcampers are encouraged to use the loop to explore the property. To access- walk south/downhill toward the pond signs and follow the mowed path through the meadow and back up toward the road, which will take you back to your campsite. I have included a screenshot of the loop as recorded by my Strava app, which is in the property photos. The property hosts a geodesic play-dome and slack-line (during the dry months) up by the green dome/outdoor shower. Guests may play on these at their own risk- the closest hospital is 7 miles away. *Please note- if you do not respect our camp rules your visit will be flagged, hipcamp will be notified and you will be asked to pay 25% of your booking fee for cleanup costs.*

Enjoy the calm, quiet serenity of the South Santiam River. Get back to the basics here and just relax and enjoy nature. We have a small cabin with a bunk bed, and a camping toilet is provided. Bring your tent or camper for extra room. Our campsite is nestled among the trees next to the river. There's lots to enjoy. Do you like hiking? Silver Falls State Park is only 36 miles away. Boating? You can put in your kayak/canoe at Gills Landing in Lebanon and float down the river back to the campsite. Fishing? Bring your fishing pole and try catch and release in our pond. Swimming? Take a swim in the cool water. Of course, you can just relax by the water's edge and enjoy the tranquility provided by the soothing flow of the river. This 192 sq. ft. cabin is very basic. There is no shower, but there is a portable toilet with a wash station located outside. We do provide a full 5-gallon water cooler for drinking since there is no running water. For cooking there is a 24" Blackstone 2-burner griddle, and small propane cans are provided. Also, the cabin is furnished with a small supply of pots and pans. There is a battery that provides lighting, and phone charging is available in the cabin. During the cooler months, there is a small wood stove for heating, and firewood is provided. The cabin sleeps 2, but there is room for a camper and/or tents. This campsite is meant to be very simple, so you should plan on bringing whatever you may need/want for camping.

Overview

About

On the banks of massive Fall Creek Reservoir, Fall Creek State Recreation Area is a collection of six recreation areas that attract boaters, swimmers, fishing enthusiasts, and anyone who likes being on or near water. The most popular spot for day-trippers is the Winberry day-use area on the southern banks of the lake, where you'll find a two-lane boat ramp, a dock and beach for swimmers, and plenty of picnic areas with fire pits and barbecues. Camping is available on a first-come, first-served basis at Cascara Campground (which also has a boat ramp), and at the adjacent Fisherman's Point Campground, available for group reservations.

Notable campgrounds

Best for boat-owners: Cascara Campground has its own boat ramp for easy access to the reservoir.
Best for big groups: Fisherman’s Point can be reserved in advance and has room for up to 64 campers.

Tips for snagging a campsite

Arrive early. Cascara Campground does not take reservations, and spots are available only on a first-come, first-served basis. Your best bet is showing up around sunrise, when departing campers are likely to be waking up—and packing up.
Avoid weekends. You'll have better luck getting a campsite if you can camp on weekdays.
If you really want a reservation, Fisherman's Point can accommodate up to 64 people in eight campsites. Reservations can be made up to six months in advance of your stay.

When to go

Fall Creek is open for camping from May 1 through the end of September. It’s at its busiest during summer vacation, particularly on weekends, with July and August getting the most visitors due to generally warmer weather. September (after Labor Day weekend) is the best time to visit—the weather is generally still pleasantly warm, but with kids back in school, crowds tend to be smaller.

Know before you go

The closest place to stock up on food and basic supplies is the town of Lowell, about a 15-minute drive from the recreation area.
If you’re camping at Cascara, bring your own water—potable water is not provided.
Fire bans are common in Oregon state parks, particularly in summer and early autumn, when wildfire risks are at their highest. Propane stoves are sometimes banned during extreme-risk periods.
Boat ramps and swim platforms are sometimes closed due to low water levels.
