I have mixed feelings and thinking it's not fair to the owner to write a review on personal preference. The listing is accurate. I just don't think I am a fan of camping on gravel. It loses the appeal of the camping feel to me. I gave it a shot, however. Camping on gravel is very clean, so that's a bonus. There are three separate full RV hookups available along the ridge overlooking farm lands. Tons of space for multiple RVs (even more than three can comfortably fit). The owner has supplied a propane fireplace (bring own propane - I think? We didn't use since we were able to have a campfire). Propane grill, which we didn't use... which these are typically not supplied, so very cool for those who would use. There was a picnic bench as well. Nothing is staged and I found that a little difficult as it can be nice to have a defined area for things (again, personal preference). Walked down to lower tent area (steep gravel road) and found the space to be pretty unkempt. But, we weren't scheduled to use that space so might have been different knowing someone would be camping. It's nice knowing the owner only rents to one group at a time, so you wouldn't have tent campers if RVing and vise versa. Ultimately, I would return if there was a grass area on the ridge to have fires, meals, etc. It was pretty peaceful (we live in the country and used to farm/country sounds). It is a great spot and do recommend to those that don't mind gravel camping. We really liked the valley and area.

It was a great visit. Very conveniently located in a super cute small community about 20 minutes off the I5 Fwy. I didn't get to spend a lot of time there but it was a beautiful view in the morning and seemed like a nice place to hang out for a bit.

Such a great place to camp for the whole family ! The kids especially had a blast! They Ran around the whole time and we felt safe about it. Nice to have the water 3 minutes away. The hosts were welcoming and helpful. We will definitely be back next year!!!

Our group of 3 adults, 1 kid and 3 dogs all had the best time camping on James' land! The sunsets were incredible, and the hosts were very helpful and friendly. We used the RV site with full hookups as well as the tent campsite below. We enjoyed how spacious and peaceful the land and surroundings were, and especially loved seeing the neighbor's horses. Our first night there, the sky was clear, and we got treated to a spectacular sky full of stars. I've been to Klamath and Central Oregon recently, but this was the most stars I'd seen in years! While I wish we'd had more time to explore the beautiful surroundings, we sure made the most of our weekend trip, with s'mores on the propane fire pit to cooling off in the Calapooia River. The neighboring town of Brownsville was featured in the film, "Stand By Me"! I recommend bringing your own propane, unless you'd like to buy a very expensive tank from Dari Mart. We had a great experience camping here, 10/10.

This is a awesome place for a group to camp! There were 12 of us and was room for more. We got to put tents up on the platform, the trees are perfect hammock trees. We were able to spend our days at the river right down the road and our nights watching the Stars with a awesome view.
We set up our camp in the tent area which is down a gravel road from the electricity and dumping for RVs. It's a little bit farther away than I was expecting based on the pictures but we just set everything up down there and with some extension cords there was no problem. We had a couple of issues with small cars getting up and down that hill, but the on-site owner let us use the driveway to bail out the one that could not make it back up. There are lots of fun things to explore, including a treehouse, zip line, swings, friendly goats next door, bats, birds and the occasional curious yellow jacket. We appreciated the privacy and the ability to have a great time without worrying about other campers. Would definitely recommend and we will be coming back next year!

This was a great place to hang out for the weekend. The setup was a little different than what I expected but it worked out great. We loved having plenty of space and hookups for both RVs we had. We loved the grassy tent area but wished it was a little closer to the RV area. We found a little swimming hole 5-10 minutes away that was perfect for cooling off and having some fun...and while technically within walking distance, if you had any inflatables and chairs, it may prove a little more difficult than just driving there. There was a neighborhood dog that barked most of the night...not anything the host can do but something to be aware of. Overall, this was a great place and we highly recommend. James was great with communication and his dad was available anytime during the weekend if we needed anything. Would definitely rent again.

My family loved staying at Shearer Farming and Camping. The directions were clear and easy to follow. The site was clean, quiet, and peaceful. We also really enjoyed the beautiful scenery.

Lovely location atop a hill with stunning views. My wife and kids adored this location. It was a quick turn around or us but we did enjoy an evening walk on the trail and took in the beautiful sunset. Highly recommend!

This was a good spot for a family gathering. Things are as bit spread out from each other but all in all this was a very nice place.
The kids loved the zip line in the forest. The water is about a mile away and we found that the nearby park worked best.

I loved tent camping at this property! It was so open and spacious with an area where the trees are behind you, a little trail to a treehouse and zip line (so fun!).
The fire pit is super big and clean! Our group of 5 friends with 2 dogs had such a good weekend here.
Short walk to the river, saw some goats on the neighboring property. Beautiful little valley scenery.
The host was so nice and brought an ax for us to chop some wood and we really loved our fire pit!

My dog and I enjoyed the full hookups and great walking paths through the field and forest. It was so quiet and private the whole time we were there. Out host loaned us his 50-to-30 amp converter. Seeing the neighbors' goats and horses was a real treat. We will definitely ask to stay again!

We had a nice trip. Zip line was fun. Big field with swing to watch sunset was nice. River access is about a 7 to 10 min walk and it's just for dipping in and out. Not really hangingfor the day. mcKercher park a mile away better for that

Loved the site! Allergies were bad during May. Would’ve loved shorter grass and more spread out than shown. There was chopped wood and it’s not too far from a store. Overall loved the site!

love how spacious the pad was where we parked the RV. loved the full hook up. we came at night and it was hard to find the little left turn off to the landing pad, so maybe a light or an image of what the turn off was would be helpful. there was even a fork at the bottom of the hill, where i thought we were supposed to park along side the other RVs off to the right. so, more signage overall would be great. but i still very much appreciated this space. thank you!

Fairly easy to find, some in my group found it more difficult. Nice big open space with plenty of room for cars and tents. Host was pleasant and allowed us to have privacy as well. Would definitely recommend for large groups. The playhouse and zip line were a hit for the youngster with us! All around a nice and relatively quiet spot (aside from some barking dogs in the hills). RIP to little Jack-Jack as well

We stayed at the Shearer camping site for 3 nights in July this year. There are a lot of great things to love about this place - first and foremost I wanted to shout out James for being a super great host. They answered our phone call at 10pm the night we got in to help us get situated and then also gave us their 50 -> 30 Amp converter to use all week since we didn't have one.
The place itself is pretty private, with just a few animals and young kids that can be heard during the day. There are several hikes to enjoy nearby and the place is 1 hour from the Blue Hole.
Would recommend to anyone, and especially if you have several RVs that are joining for the trip as the actual gravel lot you stay in is huge.

This is a great spot, the kids loved the zip line and treehouse, very close to an awesome water hole too so we spent a good majority of the day hanging out in the river. The camp was very open and had beautiful views of the sunset.

The site needs more pictures that are updated. It was nowhere near what we expected. Sites should be cleaned and prepared when people are to be expected as well. I won't bash the host on here because he made it right by us, but if you are expecting to have a memorable camping experience you may want to look elsewhere.

Beautiful view and nice grassy area to pitch a tent. James was very friendly and helpful when my blonde kicked in and missed the turn to the camp spot. Right down the road from some great swimming holes. Had a lead wire attached to some trees to hook my puppers up to so he could run around which was awesome. I felt a little on display, but got over it pretty quickly. Would stay again and the only thing I would add would be cornhole boards…and a porta potty .

The views are so peaceful and the property is a lot of fun with the zip line and tree house. There is a big hill in gravel to get to your spot. We tow a 29’ airstream with a GMC 3500 and had no trouble, just something to know! The hookups were great. Jack and James are fantastic hosts!
