Turning Earth Farm was one of the best places you could ever ask to stay at. From the moment we go there we felt welcomed, relaxed, and everyone had smiles on their faces.
Our kids, and I can't lie the adults too, loves petting the goats, feeding the pigs, and watching the chickens.
The stage was a great place for the kids to put on a little play for us. We spent time each day exploring the creek, and the shade of the trees was perfect for the sunny days.
Overall this place was a 10/10. I could not recommend it enough.

Turning Earth Farms is an incredible hipcamp. Sara is a great host who makes you feel welcome and is ready to help with any questions or needs with ease.
This is such a peaceful and magical place and we will definitely be booking again and again in the future. One of the best hipcamps out there! 100% recommend!

This was our second summer visiting Teak Creek. We LOVE having the roaming farm animals, the huge shaded campground, the beautiful clean composting toilets and the refreshing creek. Our granddaughters enjoyed all this also, and this time they brought their bikes to ride around. What a lovely camp experience.

Turning Earth Farms
My family and I had a fantastic time camping in the woods at Turning Earth farm. Our boys (7 and 2) loved splashing in the creek and petting the goats, and never tired of trying to spot the llama through the trees. A really wonderful trip.

We really love staying at Sara's place. This was our second trip, and even though it rained much of the time we were there, we had a great time. It's so nice to be alone in the woods, hang out by the creek, and watch all the animals. The baby goats were hilarious and endless fun to play with and watch.

We decided to take our Nintendo obsessed 6 yo for a quick camping trip 20 minutes from our west salem home. We had the most amazing evening. We walked around the turning earth farm property, checked out the goats, the garden, the creek, the beautifully built treehouse and the magical stage the was adjacent from the camp spots hidden in the forest. It was very special and we will definitely be back to visit Sara and her farm. She was a very sweet host and was available but also have us space!

We had a lovely experience. Sara was so gracious and kind - even shared some fresh mushrooms from the property. The upkeep of the camping area was impressive, including the out house. It was quiet and beautiful and felt very private. We will definitely return.

Great little spot to camp. Close to Black Rock MTB trails if you are looking for an easy overnight camp spot. Sara and Don were great hosts! Fun hanging with the animals and enjoyed the farm fresh eggs and veggies. See you next year!

Turning Earth Farms is a lovely environment with fantastic people, adorable goats, delicious food and a beautiful stream running through the whole place. Sara is a wonderful host and made me feel incredibly welcome and safe. Looking forward to returning already!

The host and others here were very friendly and welcoming. The camp was fuller than im sure is usual, so it wasnt quite as private as it might otherwise be. Overall it was a very cool experience. My kids loved the free roaming pigs and chickens.

We had a totally amazing time with our 3 year old. Our site was super private and huge, and we didn't have to worry about noise from others (or worry about waking others up when our kiddo woke up at the crack of dawn). We spent our mornings roaming around the garden and farm, giving scratches to pigs and goats, watching the baby chicks peck at the ground, picking incredibly delicious raspberries and blackberries, chatting with the awesome farmers, swinging in the random hammocks on the property, cooking and eating farm eggs in their outdoor kitchen and eating fresh goat cheese. During the hot afternoons we hung out at the creek and stayed cool. We stayed for 3 nights and spent one day in Salem, a 30ish minute drive and spent the whole day at the children's museum there which was also a hit with the 3 year old! I just asked the little one what her favorite part was, and she said seeing the stars. She says "I loved the camping trip. I love eating smores!"

Sara was so welcoming and friendly! When we arrived she even offered us some drinks, and to show us around the property. The forest area is beautiful and perfect for camping. It really was the perfect camping spot. Felt very safe and welcomed! Plus seeing all the farm animals made my heart happy :)

We had a peaceful 2 nights camping in the fern-carpeted forest, right by the charming creek that runs through the farm. Our kids loved the creek, catching frogs and crawdads, skipping flat stones and finding natural clay deposits. They were thrilled to play in the multiple hammocks and to follow the herd of free ranging goats - including one young nursing baby goat that was sweet and playful. The white llama that roams the property is mythical looking!
There were chicks to hold and piglets to pet.
Our hosts were laid-back and gave us plenty of autonomy. We enjoyed campfires in the evenings, the trees bathed in golden light. The composting toilets were clean and well-maintained, and did not smell bad. On our way out, I purchased several bars of homemade goats milk soap from the outdoor kitchen on the property ($3 each). Tried the soap at home, it is creamy and so moisturizing, plus smells amazing with essential oils. My new favorite soap!
Our hosts gave us free rein to pick from the large garden on the property, and there is drinking water available for campers.
We had a wonderful, relaxing stay and hope to return again soon! We highly recommend this experience!

One of the most inclusive camp sites I have ever been to. Our family really enjoys camping here. Our son plays in the water while our daughter gardens and plays with and tends to the farm needs of the goats, chickens and pigs. Without a doubt the camp host Sara is a beautiful soul and the people who help run the farm are kind and interesting, in a great way, people. Highly recommend a stay at this ever evolving site!!!!!!!!

Turning Earth Farms
We stayed in Site #2. It was more than spacious and quiet and private. I was surprised to hear commuter traffic from Kings Hwy from about 4 AM to 7 AM. Otherwise it was a very serene place. We especially liked the mischievous goat herd and the illusive white llama. We were well cared for by Sara and her volunteers. What a lovely way to camp for a few days

My partner and I had a fantastic time staying at Turning Earth Farms. We had the pleasure of dining with Sara and her loved ones our first evening there, and then spent the rest of the week enjoying our fellow campers' company and exploring the campsite.
The site is on the smaller side, but that is not by any means a negative comment. We loved the cozy atmosphere and the grounds were incredibly well kept. As others have mentioned there are many places you can pitch your tent in a single campsite, though we opted for a site with a fire pit. There is no firewood, so be sure to bring your own, or stop in Dallas to pick some up.
As per the goats-- we can vouch for their friendliness! However, if you expect to leave your campsite at any time, we recommend putting your trash up high and hiding any and all paper goods. I had a sizable bite taken out of my book cover, but that was my fault for assuming they wouldn't find it tasty! We also received oats as we were in campsite 4 and the closest to their enclosure so we could lure them away if need be. Also, be warned that the ones with horns will butt heads and fight over food! No harm done to us and no aggression directed toward us, just normal goat behavior that I didn't see others mention.
Other honorable mentions, the creek and the treehouse were both gorgeous, and we absolutely fell in love with Sara's pigs. Also, although I can't guarantee this for everyone's service provider, my partner and I both had fantastic cell service! We opted to not use our phones for the trip, but regardless it was nice to have peace of mind that we could use them for emergency purposes without driving into Dallas.

Bryan and I just spent the weekend here! It's only a 36 min drive from Salem! They have tent sites, teepee's, and a TREEHOUSE!!! Which is where we stayed! Sara the host, is super Friendly and it was a total kick hanging out in nature and petting some camp goats! We highly recommend this place and will be back!

This place was AWESOME! The goats were super cute and while I didn't meet Sara, we did meet her husband Gary who builds all of the stuff there...bathroom, picnic tables, etc. The garden was fantastic with delicious veggies, the animals were adorable and I loved the homemade goat milk soap. Gary is a wonderful host, too. My only concern was one guy who was staying there. While he was friendly to us he was definitely having some mental issues and if I were traveling as a solo female I might be a little nervous, but traveling with my boyfriend it was just fine. I would definitely recommend this place for couples and people traveling with friends.

Turning Earth Farms is an absolutel dream! I fell in love with the environment, the forest, the beauty, te wonderful energy, the farm anaimals within seconds of getting there. It's a beautiful place and Sara's heart is so in the right place - to grow food for the community, to offer her wonderful soap and to provide some fabulous homemade goat cheese? What, was I CAMPING? No, I was a guest on an absolutely beautiful piece of property that contained a wonderfully saturated atmosphere of love and giving! I'll go again!
