GeerCrest Farm was settled by the Geer family in 1848, and is still owned and stewarded by the family. The house Ralph and Mary Geer built in 1851 stands and is one of the oldest in Oregon to remain in the same family.
The farm features creeks, forests, pastures, orchards and gardens as well as the historic buildings. Currently we have four friendly sheep and a small flock of Mallard ducks to keep us company. The Pioneer Memorial Orchard features over 50 vairieties of pre 1850 apple trees. The Heritage Grove has ten fruit and nut trees that were recognizeds as a memorial the the early pioneers of the nursery trade by Oregon Heritage Tree program. The 20 acre property, offers three tent camp sites Including the Tree House site, as well as two forest cabins and a small forest bunkhouse (sleeps 6).
Our peaceful, small farm offers a reflective immersion in nature and history among the occasional quacking of ducks and baaas of sheep. The scenery from all corners of the farm is incredible - a favorite is the westward view of the valley pasture at sunset -- called "Homer's View" after famous political cartoonist and Geer descendant, Homer Davenport. No matter which camping site you choose, the sounds of the creek, pond frogs, or conversing owls are sure to lull you to sleep.
Feel free to roam the farm, but always leave gates as you find them, open or closed. Please say hello to our sheep and barn cats (they may say hello first). Explore the Heritage Grove of historic trees, the Memorial apple orchard and pear glade with varieties circa 1840s, indulge your senses in our medicinal herb garden, and chat with our farm family while they water the veggie gardens, if you so wish! Your experience will certainly be unique to the season.

More about the property:
- This is a regenerative farm, just starting. Last season I focused on chickens- for flocks (egg layers for backyard chickens) and freezers (meat birds- available for your camp dinner). Some cows and sheep roam the front pasture and my goal is to grow their numbers to be able to improve the soil health here at the farm.
-My tiny home is in the area of the sites, but far enough away to maintain privacy. Otherwise it is a private and secluded area. Because I live on site, I will not allow repeat visits if groups become rowdy or disrespectful.
-There is ELECTRICITY and WATER on site for 1 RV. The electricity is through a standard household outlet so an adaptor will be necessary, and possibly an extension cord, depending on where you choose to set up. An outhouse with a composting TOILET and sink are available, but no shower. However, in winter months, the sink will be turned off to protect pipes. Water is still available from an in ground frost free spigot.
-There is a FIREPIT for evening musing, don't forget your marshmallows. Firewood is available on site for $10/night with an unlimited supply (or free if you want to gather downed limbs).
- There is an old hay wagon converted into a covered picnic area that I call the COWZEBO for use in bad weather. Enjoy a meal here with a great view of the river.
- FRIENDLY DOGS are welcome. Know that my dogs also hang out here. If your dog is aggressive or timid, please consider other accommodations.

Jsm Ranch started in 2004 when we moved from Oregon City.
This once was a working farm with two chicken barns and a meat locker barn. All had been fallen into disrepair before taking owner ship.
In 2007 we planted 200 trees and 100 shrubs to build a new fish and wildlife habitat along Woodcock Creek. We then focused on building fence along the Molalla River to protect water quality.
From there, we started raising Black Angus in 2008 after spending four years cleaning up the fields to make it safe for animals. We strive to be good stewards with our land as we continue to work with Clackamas Soil and Water to make better working lands.
You're only minutes away from the town of Molalla to grab a bite, groceries or other camp items. Also have Molalla Rodeo just 3 minutes away on

Our campsite is nestled among the trees next to the river. There's lots to enjoy. Do you like hiking? Silver Falls State Park is only 36 miles away. Boating? You can put in your kayak/canoe at Gills Landing in Lebanon and float down the river back to the campsite. Fishing? Bring your fishing pole and try catch and release in our pond. Swimming? Take a swim in the cool water. Of course, you can just relax by the water's edge and enjoy the tranquility provided by the soothing flow of the river.
This 192 sq. ft. cabin is very basic. There is no shower, but there is a portable toilet with a wash station located outside. We do provide a full 5-gallon water cooler for drinking since there is no running water. For cooking there is a 24" Blackstone 2-burner griddle, and small propane cans are provided. Also, the cabin is furnished with a small supply of pots and pans. There is a battery that provides lighting, and phone charging is available in the cabin. During the cooler months, there is a small wood stove for heating, and firewood is provided. The cabin sleeps 2, but there is room for a camper and/or tents. This campsite is meant to be very simple, so you should plan on bringing whatever you may need/want for camping.

THE PROPERTY:
Our campsites
are on two beautiful ponds with a seasonal creek in an old growth cedar forest with a few trails to enjoy the stillness and magic
of the woods.
There are 11 acres with a vineyard, fruit orchard, large garden, cob garden wall for lounging, fire pit at the vineyard with several picnic tables and hammocks, a big open field above the camping area, and the beautiful cedar forest.
We consider this land sacred. We are only caretakers passing through, and honor this place and the original people of this land: The Molalla, Clackamas, and Kalapuya tribes, who were "relocated" to the Grand Ronde Reservation in the mid 1800's.
Please be mindful of the energy of the forest, and all the people and animals who still reside and have come before.
The forest is home to beavers, coyote, deer, raccoons, salamanders, frogs, and many bird species.
Our dream is to share this land with all people to create community in harmony with nature and provide a safe space

WHEN YOU ARRIVE:
Proceed down our long driveway to the bottom. Take a left at the sport court, and continue right. On your left is the woodshed with the "Calliope Farm" mural. You will see two parking spots to the left of the woodshed (Harmony Hollow parking) and two on the right (Hobbit Circle)
You can unload here and grab a cart.
Across from the parking, on the red barn, is the water station, and the hot tub sign up sheet.
You will be walking/carting your things down to the forest where you will pass the outhouse on the left.
For Harmony Hollow, after you cross the first bridge, take the path to the left and cross a second bridge and the campsite is on your right.
For Hobbit Circle, cross the first bridge and walk around the pond, which will lead you to the campsite.
The campsites are a short walk, (200 yards) but there is a decline, and
you need to be a little hearty to walk back up the hill with your things.
You will have a good amount of space and privacy for your group, but may encounter others visiting the forest as well.
Enjoy a social time while respecting that some come for quiet and reflection.
We provide a picnic table
We wish to all work together for safety, with intelligence, common sense, and fire consciousness.
OFFERINGS:
We have a cedar hot tub, massage therapy,
and an outdoor shower. The charge for the hot tub is $15 per person for 75 minutes
of hot tub
time.
You can schedule the hot tub for privacy at the sign up sheet on the barn.
If you would like to shower and not hot tub, the cost is $5 per shower, otherwise its included in the hot tub fee, and required for hot tub entrance.
If you, or anyone in your group did not pay for a hot tub ahead of time, you will find a Venmo link on the barn, or can bring cash.
HOT TUB:
The hot tub sign up sheet is on the barn next to the water station. It is first come first serve. If you are a larger group using the tub, consider choosing a later spot for water displacement.
If the hot tub is too hot, please add cold water from the hose to desired temp.
PLEASE do not turn down the temperature on the hot tub, but use the cold water to create desired temp, but not below 102.
If you are staying multiple nights and would like to hot tub again, the cost is $10 pp, instead of $15. Kids under 10 are $5
The hot tub is to the right of the house down by the garden. Your time is private, but we may need to visit/work in the garden.
PLEASE read and be mindful of the hot tub etiquette posted in the hot tub area.
VINEYARD:
~Silas Wines~ This is the original vineyard for Silas Wines founded in 2010.
Our Pinot Noir vines are 40 year old Wadensville clone planted by the Ritter family in the early 80's.
You are welcome to walk the vineyard, and explore the front of the property. Our neighbor Beth, to the west, is a master gardener, and loves to give tours of her gardens or you can wander on your own. (please inquire)
Dogs:
Please let us know if you will be bringing a dog. We and our neighbors have chickens that are penned and free ranged.
Please DO NOT allow your dog (or yourself) to roam on our neighbors property over the fence in the next field to the East. He is very friendly, and we have a good relationship, but that is his request.
Please pick up after your dog. Please do not lose site of dog, and keep them on leash in common areas.
Please do not leave your dog unattended at the campsite or anywhere on the property where they will bark and disturb other guests.
THE CARAVAN SPOT:
Please let us know if you are needing a van camping spot opposed to tent camping in the woods. We do have a few different options for car camping, and when booking select the "caravan spot". We also can split up your group if some are tent camping and others need van camping, but you would need to book the two different sites.

Highly recommend to anyone wanting a safe, relaxing, family & pet friendly atmosphere.
We absolutely loved our stay. Mike & Stephany are courteous, attentive hosts who seem genuinely eager to ensure their guests are right at home. The “barn” offers everything one might need for an extended stay and is a great place to hang out in the evenings for family game night.
The property itself is very well kept; the sites are private, the grounds are clean and safe for kids to roam. The large, communal fire pit was kept ‘ready’ for s’mores at all times. Our kids also enjoyed playing on the swing set near the barn. The beds in the bunkhouse are very comfortable; quality bed linens and excellent, comfy memory foam (new condition) mattresses on all beds. Potable drinking water is a great bonus for those trying to travel light. We usually travel with our own water filter so the great tasting drinking water was a nice surprise!

Jim took time to know his guests. He cared about how it was going and if we needed anything. Brought out a playhouse for my kiddos and a beautiful farm. Great for sunsets, walks and sitting on the porch.
Perfect for a big family and close to Silverton. It was our favorite place to stay since using hipcamp.

This place ruins every other campground I have ever been to. Our hosts helped us find the perfect spot for us on fairway 16, showed us all the cool spots to go to, and even brought us a picnic bench and burn barrel so we could have the perfect camping set up. We were a short drive and walk to the water from our site, and even on a busy holiday weekend it felt like we had the place to ourselves. There was no service with Verizon (which we loved, but just be aware) and the grounds and port-o-potties were pristine and freshly serviced. We are so happy to have found this campground and will definitely be booking more trips out here!

Awesome trip! Anthony met us right away and let us move to a spot that accommodated our truck. It was fun 4x4’ing to a spot right next to the river where we could enjoy absolute peace and quiet.
There’s tons of walking trails. Took a walk and saw a decent sized cinnamon colored black bear. So cool!

Camp Colton was exactly what me and group needed, it’s a beautiful property! we stayed in the meadow right next to the creek and the pond nearby. The sounds of the creek was so relaxing to sleep to. I appreciated the water bottle fill up station, free use of washing machine/dryer, canoes on site (we didn’t get to do this but it looked like fun) and the clean bathroom/showers. Not to mention the host was accommodating to my request to modify my trip to an earlier date, and was so gracious to guide us to our site and let us pick whatever camping spot we’d like. We will definitely be back!

We stayed a night while traveling in Oregon. The farm was well kept and peaceful. Jim came out and gave us firewood for the pit and let us know about what's happening in the area. He was kind and hospitable. We enjoyed watching the sunset over the hills and interacting with the sheep just on the other side of the fence before having a campfire and retiring to our tent for the evening.

Campsite 8 is at the end of the camping area so it’s private, and gets quite a bit of shade which was good because it was pretty hot while we were there. Family friendly. There’s a community beach area just a short walk away but not river access from the campsite. Very clean bathrooms!

Our little get away was perfect. The yurt was clean, comfortable and stocked with fire wood. The bathhouse was clean, stocked and kept warm with a heater. The property caretaker stopped by and was friendly and asked if we were needing anything and enjoying our stay. We will definitely be back!

Overview
About
Set in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, Silver Falls State Park is the crown jewel of the Oregon state park system thanks to its waterfalls, all of which are easily accessible via the 7.2-mile Trail of Ten Falls or several shorter hikes. Add more than 9,000 acres of temperate and old-growth rainforest and miles of backcountry trails, and you’ll want to spend a few days here. With RV spots, cabins, tent camping sites, group sites, and a horse campground, the small Silver Falls Campground allows campers and equestrians to stay overnight and explore. Several day-use areas also offer picnic areas, horseshoe pits, playgrounds, and a swimming hole.
Notable Camping Spots
- Best for tent campers: Loop A offers 43 tent sites with water nearby and 10 standard RV sites.
- Best for large RVs: Loop B offers 38 standard RV spots and can accommodate rigs up to 83 feet.
- Best for privacy: Fourteen rustic cabins offer beds, heat, and electricity. Cabins 8, 9, and 10 are especially set apart.
Tips for snagging a campsite
- Book in advance if you plan to visit during the busy summer period, especially over weekends. Sites can be reserved online or by phone up to 30 days in advance.
- A very limited number of first-come, first-served sites (B35-43) are sometimes available. Check before showing up at the park to avoid disappointment.
- For the best chance at an uncrowded campground, visit in winter. Tent sites are closed, but electric sites and cabins are open year-round.
When to go
Although summer is the most popular time to visit Silver Falls, spring is actually the best time to see the waterfalls at their fullest. The falls have the lowest flow in summer, and some especially dry years see fewer than the usual 10 waterfalls. Guided horseback trail rides are available from Memorial Day to Labor Day. While some camping is still possible in the winter, not all facilities are available.
Know before you go
- Limited supplies are available in the park, though ice and wood usually are at the campground. Pick up groceries and other supplies in Silverton, Sublimity, or Salem.
- The Trail of Ten Falls is steep in some areas with unpaved sections. It’s not suitable for wheelchairs or strollers.
- No pets, bicycles, skateboards, or in-line skates are permitted on the Canyon Trail portion of the Trail of Ten Falls.
- Two campsites, four cabins, and campground restrooms and showers are accessible to wheelchair users.
- All standard campsites and four of the cabins are pet-friendly. Be aware of bears and cougars in more remote areas of the park.

Silver Falls Campground
This is probably the hardest place in Oregon to get camping reservations. And don't get me wrong, it's nice, but it's not THAT much nicer than other places. It does have the Ten Falls Trail to meander upon, and a dramatic waterfall view you can walk under. But other than that, it's a lot like other state parks - Milo McIver also has great hikes, and so does Champoeg. The campground itself is very similar to those other parks too - the exact same kind of template was used. Is it worth visiting? Sure. Does it deserve the status as the hardest to get reservations at? I'm not so sure. I actually like Richardson Park campground better run by Lane County on the Fern Ridge Reservoir. Bigger, greener campsites and access to a huge, gorgeous lake with fishing, and of course Eugene at your fingertips. But hey, this is good too. If you do go, hit Pacific Honeybee in Mount Angel, and the Oregon Garden. The honey is great, and so is the garden.

These are some of the most underrated falls in Oregon. The campsite is lovely and even has a clean bathroom with a shower and the option to buy firewood. Highly recommend.
