Reconnect with nature and escape the heat on our 28 acre filbert orchard, better known as hazelnuts. On hot summer days you’ll find the temperature under the orchard canopy almost 10 degrees cooler at the heat of the day. Feel free to roam the orchard, play a little hide and seek, hang up a hammock, or bring a blanket and picnic. Within walking or bicycle distance are fantastic amenities including Aurora Colony Vineyards, Pheasant Run Tasting room (Friday summer concerts), Aurora Colony Pub (acoustic Thursday), Filbert Farmhouse Restaurant, White Rabbit Bakery, Aurora Healing Gardens-psilocybin experience (advanced reservation required), a local park and lots of antique stores. Within driving distance are tons of wineries, breweries, distilleries and the Woodburn Outlet Mall. Here to visit wine country? Welcome campers! This site is perfect for tent and car camping. Parking is available for only a single vehicle but multiple tents if needed. For roof top tents, you may want to be in our old growth orchard sites 1-9 for shade and privacy. You will have a designated parking space between a row of Hazelnut Trees (16ft total length enough for a passenger vehicle). Feel free to pitch a tent in any comfortable spot nearby. These sites are by reservation only and will be reserved for you to arrive anytime during the length of your reservation. Your site will have a picnic table and a firepit, with firewood available for sale onsite (when not too dry). We usually have a burn ban that starts sometime in July and goes until the fall rain. We do allow propane fireplaces and stoves year-round. There are a few hammocks available for use when on property. We have 3 flushing toilets, an enclosed shower, and an outdoor shower. The outdoor shower has 3 walls, a curtain, and the best view of any shower nearby! Note that these toilets see heavy use Saturdays and Sundays from 7:30-9:30am. Lovely spot with great amenities. I accidentally chose a spot, (Site 12) that was reallllly tight for my vehicle. I assumed they were all the same, but others were more suitable. I drive a Ram ProMaster 1500 (136WB), not huge, but I'd recommend that unless you want branches scratching your paint, there are better choices. I realized after the fact (I was tired) that I probably could have swapped my site without issue. If in doubt, reach out to the hosts!

My wife and I loved this spot! It’s very conveniently located near the Oregon Ren Faire, which was the main draw, but we quickly fell in love with the site as one of our new local getaways. I absolutely loved the outdoor shower! So gorgeous and refreshing. The bathrooms were really nice and very clean! The orchards are beautiful and very cool to sleep under. We will definitely be back!

Shane’s orchard is absolutely beautiful. It was about 15 minutes from the Oregon ren faire which is why we picked this spot! We have a pop up tent for the bed of our truck and got nestled between the trees. Even tho there was campers spread throughout, it felt very private and peaceful. The flushing toilets were wonderful as well as the showers! Bring towels! My husband and I are rather new to camping so we did forget to bring towels, no outdoor shower for us. 🫠 would absolutely recommend and stay here again!

Tranquil Orchards is absolutely gorgeous! My wife and I had such a lovely time. The outdoor shower was my favorite thing! The sites are spacious, and we felt like we had a lot of privacy. The bathrooms were very nice and clean. It’s convenient in that it’s very close to the Oregon Ren Faire, which was the main reason for our visit, but we have talked about coming back just to have a little getaway from the city. It is a sweet little campsite that is not too far from Portland proper!

We loved staying at site #14! Such a beautiful location and well kept. Our site had a nice big picnic table and firepit (complete w/extinguisher & poker) . Bathrooms and showers were a nice convenience. We enjoyed walking around the Hazelnut farm. Shane was excellent in communication as we were interested in possibility of charging our car and he was able to accommodate us. Highly recommend staying here. 5* 😀 And for us, it was a perfect location as we were attending the Oregon Renaissance Faire which was only a 10min drive away.

We had a lovely and tranquil overnight stay at Shane’s orchard. It’s a great spot among the hazelnut trees. After a long day on I5, we enjoyed walking along the rows of trees and visiting the horses and goats. Having hot(ish) showers and clean flush toilets was a luxury. Everything was clean and tidy.

I had such a great stay here! Camping in the hazelnut orchard made this Hipcamp feel really unique and special. The campsites are arranged in separate rows with trees between them, which gave each site a nice sense of privacy and peacefulness. As a solo female traveler, I also felt very safe and comfortable staying here, which is something I really value when choosing a campsite. Each site includes a large picnic table, fire pit, and even a fire extinguisher — such a thoughtful touch. The entire property was pristine, well cared for, and very easy to navigate with clearly marked sites. I absolutely loved this spot and will definitely be back. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a peaceful, unique camping experience!

Loved this spot so much! Very cool setup in their orchard. It was easy to find our spot even in the dark, lots of space between the orchard rows between camp sites. It was a perfect stop on our road trip to sleep, cook and use the bathroom. We didn’t use the shower, but it was functional! Be aware there may be train noises in the middle of the night that echo through the fields. We loved being in the orchard though!

This is a tranquil hazelnut orchard where the trees are in long rows left to right, forward and backward, and diagonally. Although they're about 20' apart, and you can almost see down a row almost a quarter mile, your camp disappears quickly when you walk away. There are 3 flush toilets that are rather clean, one shower (no coins, I don't know if it's heated). There's a fire ring and picnic table at each site. It's shady and well-protected from wind. Nearby you can hear cars, small planes from a rural airport, and trains passing at times. Not a lot of wildlife, though we did hear an owl overnight, and doves at the edge of the land during the day. The firewood was self-serve (pay by Venmo, honor system), and it was dry and in a useful carrying bag. It was very pleasant and we had a lovely fire. Didn't see another soul even though the site across the way seemed to have occupants. Would recommend, especially for soft-launch camping trips from Portland. It's an easy getaway, and if your camping skills are a little rusty or you don't do it a lot, it's an easy way to have a weekend in nature without too much challenge or risk. Would recommend! :-)

Loved camping on Shane's Land. We parked our Airstream between rows of hazelnut trees. During the day, we walked rows and rows of trees. It was magical. The directions to the land were easy and the spots are clear marked.

Really nice space. The lights indicating the occupied spaces was special. We were able to easily find our campsite after a full day of wine tasting. Bathroom was super clean.

Beautiful camp site! Very private, easy to access and quiet! Dogs loved it. Had a wonderful experience! Aurora was close enough to Portland, but far enough to be away from the city.

Lovely camping setup. Very nice to have a bathroom with running water. It was pretty muddy, but that's to be expected when camping in the rain in February. Super easy process, every thing was self explanatory.

Safe, private, creative campsite. Colored lights lit up the site numbers which was very helpful. It was a misty night and the place still looked magical, I’d stay here again!

Had such a great experience in June that I returned in October! The warm water shower is the greatest for a Hipcamp experience. Shane is so responsive and has really made this a great family venture. Much obliged!!

Lovely campsite with rows of hazelnut trees, friendly golden retriever Paisley, cute goats munching fallen apples, and sociable horses. Kind owner shared great tips on nearby spots. Aurora’s a charming small town with antique shops and excellent eats—loved Filbert’s Farmhouse Kitchen and White Rabbit Bakery’s cinnamon rolls, coffee, and breakfast. Locals are welcoming. Note to campers: planes, trains, and automobiles—all can be heard till 11 PM and from 5 AM due to nearby road, airport, and railroad; bring earplugs. Would return!
