We purchased this slice of paradise in 2003 as a place to relax, recharge, and someday build our dream home. It started as nothing more than a gravel road leading to a small clearing with an old bus and a couple decks. Our children have grown up out here learning a deep respect for nature and the real (non digital) world. Now empty nesters, we live on site. Part of our retirement planning is to spend next several years developing the lower portion of the property (approx. 15 acres) into a campground and retreat for our guests, as well as our own family, friends, and grandchildren. The campground area (currently) consists of a handful of primitive campsites, and a group area. We are working steadily on improvements, including adding more sites, improving the roadways, and upgrading the common areas. There are 11 acres with a vineyard, fruit orchard, large garden, cob garden wall for lounging, fire pit at the vineyard with several picnic tables and hammocks, a big open field above the camping area, and the beautiful cedar forest. We consider this land sacred. We are only caretakers passing through, and honor this place and the original people of this land: The Molalla, Clackamas, and Kalapuya tribes, who were "relocated" to the Grand Ronde Reservation in the mid 1800's. Please be mindful of the energy of the forest, and all the people and animals who still reside and have come before. The forest is home to beavers, coyote, deer, raccoons, salamanders, frogs, and many bird species. Our dream is to share this land with all people to create community in harmony with nature and provide a safe space We welcome, open heartedly, people of all gender identity or expression, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, and artistic expression. WHEN YOU ARRIVE: Proceed down our long driveway to the bottom. Take a left at the sport court, and continue right. On your left is the woodshed with the "Calliope Farm" mural. You will see two parking spots to the left of the woodshed (Harmony Hollow parking) and two on the right (Hobbit Circle) You can unload here and grab a cart. Across from the parking, on the red barn, is the water station, and the hot tub sign up sheet. You will be walking/carting your things down to the forest where you will pass the outhouse on the left. For Harmony Hollow, after you cross the first bridge, take the path to the left and cross a second bridge and the campsite is on your right. For Hobbit Circle, cross the first bridge and walk around the pond, which will lead you to the campsite. The campsites are a short walk, (200 yards) but there is a decline, and you need to be a little hearty to walk back up the hill with your things. You will have a good amount of space and privacy for your group, but may encounter others visiting the forest as well. Enjoy a social time while respecting that some come for quiet and reflection. We provide a picnic table We wish to all work together for safety, with intelligence, common sense, and fire consciousness. OFFERINGS: We have a cedar hot tub, massage therapy, and an outdoor shower. The charge for the hot tub is $15 per person for 75 minutes of hot tub time. You can schedule the hot tub for privacy at the sign up sheet on the barn. If you would like to shower and not hot tub, the cost is $5 per shower, otherwise its included in the hot tub fee, and required for hot tub entrance. If you, or anyone in your group did not pay for a hot tub ahead of time, you will find a Venmo link on the barn, or can bring cash. HOT TUB: The hot tub sign up sheet is on the barn next to the water station. It is first come first serve. If you are a larger group using the tub, consider choosing a later spot for water displacement. If the hot tub is too hot, please add cold water from the hose to desired temp. PLEASE do not turn down the temperature on the hot tub, but use the cold water to create desired temp, but not below 102. If you are staying multiple nights and would like to hot tub again, the cost is $10 pp, instead of $15. Kids under 10 are $5 The hot tub is to the right of the house down by the garden. Your time is private, but we may need to visit/work in the garden. PLEASE read and be mindful of the hot tub etiquette posted in the hot tub area. VINEYARD: ~Silas Wines~ This is the original vineyard for Silas Wines founded in 2010. Our Pinot Noir vines are 40 year old Wadensville clone planted by the Ritter family in the early 80's. You are welcome to walk the vineyard, and explore the front of the property. Our neighbor Beth, to the west, is a master gardener, and loves to give tours of her gardens or you can wander on your own. (please inquire) Dogs: Please let us know if you will be bringing a dog. We and our neighbors have chickens that are penned and free ranged. Please DO NOT allow your dog (or yourself) to roam on our neighbors property over the fence in the next field to the East. He is very friendly, and we have a good relationship, but that is his request. Please pick up after your dog. Please do not lose site of dog, and keep them on leash in common areas. Please do not leave your dog unattended at the campsite or anywhere on the property where they will bark and disturb other guests. THE CARAVAN SPOT: Please let us know if you are needing a van camping spot opposed to tent camping in the woods. We do have a few different options for car camping, and when booking select the "caravan spot". We also can split up your group if some are tent camping and others need van camping, but you would need to book the two different sites. MORE ABOUT THE LAND: Located right off Hwy 26, directly in between the city of Portland and the peak of Mt. Please do not throw any trash in the porta-potties. 4WD/AWD REQUIRED PAST THE BARN: The steep gravel roads can be tough for some cars and rigs (particularly on the way out) and consequently, can cause a lot of damage to our roads. So for everyone's safety, we have restricted access to only vehicles with 4WD or AWD only. Please do not message us asking us to advise on the vehicle you have. If someone in your party has a 2WD vehicle, they can park up in the entry lot and get shuttled down to the campsites in a 4WD vehicle. DOG FRIENDLY: We are as dog friendly as it gets here. Unleashed dogs are allowed on this property down by the creek (on-leash required in and around the barn). If you have a fear of dogs, or have dogs that are not friendly with other people or fellow dogs, this probably isn't the right campground for you. Of course, we expect all dog owners to keep an eye on their pets so they don't disturb other campers or ingest anything they're not supposed to. QUIET HOURS: 10pm-9am. We ask that guests keep the noise (loud music and loud conversations) to a minimum between 10pm and 9am. We live onsite and will enforce these if we have to (please don't make us). This site has a private fire pit. 3. Creekside RV - retro trailer newer looks like a 50's diner. Has fridge, stove top, microwave, electric hot water kettle and Air Conditioning. This is a nice addition to the other sites due to the AC and fridge. RV is parked next to creek across from campground. The toilet is not connected (please use Portable toilet next to trailer). 4. A cabin in the trees 12'x20' with queen bed and all bedding included. No Kitchen in the Cabin, The cabin includes a picnic table, fire pit, hammock, and outdoor bench and chairs. No Electricity. All sites have shared access to hot showers, portable toilets, and potable water next to Outdoor kitchen and dinning area. Guests love staying with us; "Brenda's property is fantastic. We had a gathering of friends for a long weekend on this property (rented the cabin too) and had the best time. Having the creek to splash around in, warm running water for showers and washing dishes, trails to explore, and the delivery of fresh produce and eggs from the property far exceeded our expectations. Brenda is the best host - she answered all my questions quickly and was very generous with our group. Definitely recommend!"

This is our home and property that we want to share, so let us work together to keep it clean and safe. Thank you from the Toops Family Jsm Ranch started in 2004 when we moved from Oregon City. This once was a working farm with two chicken barns and a meat locker barn. All had been fallen into disrepair before taking owner ship. In 2007 we planted 200 trees and 100 shrubs to build a new fish and wildlife habitat along Woodcock Creek. We then focused on building fence along the Molalla River to protect water quality. From there, we started raising Black Angus in 2008 after spending four years cleaning up the fields to make it safe for animals. We strive to be good stewards with our land as we continue to work with Clackamas Soil and Water to make better working lands. You're only minutes away from the town of Molalla to grab a bite, groceries or other camp items. Also have Molalla Rodeo just 3 minutes away on Splat Action Paintball is just five minutes away. Marmot House is a lush 13 acres of mostly old growth forest in the foothills of Mt. Hood, right on the Historic Oregon Trail. It is close to hiking, biking, and forested waterfalls a short drive away. We have beautiful short hikes on trails in our forest on the property. World class windsurfing 30 miles away in Hood River, as well as more amazing waterfall hikes in the Columbia River Gorge. The Sandy River recreation area is just up the road from us and we are 10 mins. from The Sandy Ridge Trail with its 17 miles of mountain bike trails. Each campsite is tucked in the woods and has access our communal fire pit at our gathering space. Our well water tastes amazing! The is not a developed campground, it is our home. We see ourselves as stewards of this hidden forest gem and welcome people to enjoy its beauty. We are avid campers and recently spend 9 months in our teardrop trailer off grid on public lands. Living here we are three family members, one renter and short term volunteer traveler workers. We all work from home, Arehn a spiritual life coach, who loves to cook, Jim a software engineer and disc golfer, son Ian, software engineer and writer and Zuzu, forest fire fighter and logger lives in a separate apartment on the property.

The RV site backs up to Southwest Community Park, 41.9 acres, an undeveloped nature park in the Southwest Gresham Neighborhood (East Portland). The Park is partially wooded and slopes east towards 19 acres of Fairview Creek Headwaters. Views include Grant and Jenne Buttes and Mt. St. Helens. The Park contains a large Western Red Cedar/Mixed Tree Grove and a Douglas Fir Grove, both of which are identified on the City’s significant tree list. The Park provides valuable wildlife and fish habitat, and will be preserved, protected and enhanced as part of the City’s conservation effort. Learn more about this land: This is a great neighborhood spot to park with full amenities just outside of Portland, while having immediate access to 40 wooded acres with walking path and .7 mi to the Springwater Trail for biking/running. 25 mins to downtown Portland; Easy day trips that are ~30 minutes drive to Waterfalls along the Columbia River Gorge (Bridal Veil, Multnomah Falls) or under an hour to Mt. Hood for time in the snow!  Fenced in backyard for any of your 4-legged friends to stretch. Gas fire pit, gas grill and patio table + lounge chairs are all open for sharing. Our previous homeowner had a trailer and set up this nice pad with built in hookups. We have grandparents with a 27' RV that come visit a few weekends a year, but we would love to share this corner of the woods with others looking for an accessible home base to access Portland/Mt. Hood/Gorge +.  Note: Our driveway entry is steep, but navigable. We limit the trailer/RV length to 27' in order to avoid bottoming out. Novice trailer drivers may want to avoid.  For quick bearings if you are booking while on the road, we are located just off 26 (Powell), 5 miles from I-205 or 11 miles from I-5 via the Ross Island Bridge. If you are traveling along I-84, we are 4 miles south from the exit.

I truly couldn't speak more highly of a glamping site, their staff and my overall experience!!! I booked a last min solo trip out to Oregon for my birthday and by doing so I knew there'd probably be a couple mishaps or delays with bookings of all sorts, not just for this camping portion, to which the very minute hiccup was graciously handled by Allison in a swiftness and even so generously upgraded me to my own personal Yurt. It was the most cozy and charming stay a solo bday girl could ever dream of. You'd think I was exaggerating until you've experienced this for yourself. The only unfortunate thing about my stay was that my second day there I ended up dropping my phone in the river, totally my doing ofc, and since I was on this trip alone with no other back up phone nor form of communication with my family, I had to cut my stay short of one night and head back to town to figure out my situation. To which, Neal, the kindest and gentle soul let me use his phone to reach out to my parents and chatted with me and introduced me to Ollie, their handsome lil goat, as I waited to get my ride situation handled. I did tell him I was hoping I would get to town on time to get my phone fixed and uber back to the site because that's how much I was in dire need to spend every second I could there but that didn't end up being the case which is fine because it left me with just enough to hurry back for more and definitely a longer stay. Thank you so much again CC team!!! Til next time:')

Weekend Trip to Camp Colton

Camp Colton is such a beautiful, special setting. This was our first visit since getting married here almost 20 years ago, and it’s as lovely as ever. The accommodations were spartan but cozy—exactly what we had in mind—and our host was accommodating but hands off. Plus, we enjoyed a syrup-making workshop from the Oregon Maple Project onsite after checking out in the morning. Highly recommend this remote retreat!

A nice private quiet spot to park our RV, with full hook ups! Worked out well for us to be close to family and friends over Christmas week. Only slight negative would be the steep driveway off the main road - scraped the rear bumper on the way in and out … even with trying to go at an angle to avoid that. But those things sometimes happen with a 30 foot motorhome 😉

Overview

About

Stretching along the Clackamas River, this spacious park offers scenic vistas and numerous opportunities for outdoor recreation. Three boat and kayak ramps offer easy access to the river and tranquil Estacada Lake for boating, paddling, and rafting, while a fish hatchery ensures plenty for anglers to catch. Enjoy land-based activities with 13 miles of hiking and horseback riding trails, a horse arena and training station, a 27-hole disc golf course suitable for amateurs and pros, and numerous picnic areas. Several campground options let visitors stay a while, and include RV sites with electrical hookups, tent-only sites, hiker/biker sites, and group sites.

Best for RVs: Forty-four sites in the Milo McIver Campground offer 30-amp electrical hookups.
Best for hikers and bikers: Three hiker/biker campsites are available with water, lockers, a fire pit, and solar charging station.

Tips for snagging a campsite

During peak season, make plans as soon as you know your dates. Reservations can be made from one day up to six months in advance.
Time your visit during the week or non-holiday periods if your plans are flexible.
If traveling on foot or bicycle, try for one of the three hiker/biker campsites, available for walk-ups on a first-come, first-served basis.

When to go

Peak season is between March and September. Visit in spring or early summer for the largest rapids on the Clackamas River. Family-oriented interpretive programs are also available in summer. Fish hatchery viewing is at its best over winter, while steelhead fishing is the most productive in March.

Know before you go

Discs can be purchased or rented from the park office, while SUP and kayak rentals and tours are available through an affiliated outfitter at Estacada Lake. Paddlesport visitors should use the kayak launch on Estacada Lake.
A valid fishing license is required of anyone over the age of 12.
Bikes are permitted only on paved park roads and trails.
Bring binoculars to go birdwatching for songbirds, migrating birds, ospreys, and bald eagles.
Accessible facilities include one campsite, restrooms, showers, a kayak launch, fishing dock, and picnic areas.
Firewood and ice are available for purchase at the park. Fire restrictions may be in place from time to time.

Milo McIver Campground

This campground is lovely, has rather private sites especially on the outer edge of loops, well-kept restrooms, and all amenities for RV's. The larger park offers hiking trails. I have a kid who's not that into hiking, but guess what he does love? Frisbee golf. The frisbee golf course is open to the public, and very large and well-maintained. It has over 18 holes and takes hours to get through. There are fun and challenging holes. Thanks to the park day use fee of $5, the grass is always mowed, the metal baskets are in great shape, and I've had coworkers from Californa who are into disc golf gasp when I say I went there during the weekend - yes, it's THAT well known, and for a good reason. Come to camp, and to chuck a frisbee around, even if you don't know how to play!

Awesome spot, very close to Portland and the state park is BIG. Perfect for a quick getaway. Floating, swimming, and disc golf are a plus.

Well the winds are gone !! The camp is all cleaned up so hope to see you all soon. There is camping sites still available for drop ins in the meddle of the week. But make sure that you look up availability frist. This camp has something for everyone. Hiking Fishing. And much more!!! And for you disc golfers a out standing and clean corase for a day of fun. The park is open and rolling right along . It is time to go camping at Milo McIver State Park. Fishing is great camp sites clean and the hiking trails are just waiting You and your family. Hip Camp review on Milo Mclver State Park Well this is your shirtless host l am still at Mcliver. I will be here for the next 5 months. The camp will open for camping in just 15 more days. Mar. 10th. Is opening day for camping but day use is open all year. If you have not been to Mclver you must make it one of your future spots. The camp is right on the Clackamas river just out side Estacada Or. The moss covered trees are out of this world to see. The camp has 44 water/electric and about 9 tent camping spots. You will have a lot to do fishing hiking disc golf horse back riding group camping. Also has a Hatchery in the camp. Short trips to Mt. Hood, Portland, and much more. You will love your camping experience at Mclver. Shirtless Steve

Hip camp review on Disc Golf course at Milo McLiver State Park. Just 25 miles east of Portland OR. In the town of Estacada along the Clackamas River. McLiver is a year around day use park and camping during the summer. The Riverbend Day use area has one of the best Disc Golf Course in the Portland Area. This is a 27 hole course and has both Amateur and Pro. Courses. The Disc Course is along the river and in the middle of this 950 acre park. I walked the course the other dayit is flat and each tee is well marked and in a pictureress setting. The 4 large picnic shelters along the course will accommodate large groups. This course is the Home of the Beaver State Fling!!! This is a Professional Disc Golf Association ( P.D.G.À. ) Tournament.

Ditch the car and hike or bike in from Estacada. You can take a TriMet bus from Portland & hike the 2 1/2 miles to the campground, where you can stay at the Hiker/Biker camp. It has a sheltered picnic area with lockers that have solar-powered USB outlets.
