Welcome to Calliope Retreat! We are open for camping, as well as full property use:weddings, friend gatherings, family gatherings and retreats. (Full property use, all campsites) please inquire for details/cost/available dates) *If you don't see a weekend open for dates for a full property booking, please inquire as we have some weekends blocked off for potential weddings/retreats THE PROPERTY: Our campsites are on two beautiful ponds with a seasonal creek in an old growth cedar forest with a few trails to enjoy the stillness and magic of the woods. There are 11 acres with a vineyard, fruit orchard, large garden, cob garden wall for lounging, fire pit at the vineyard with several picnic tables and hammocks, a big open field above the camping area, and the beautiful cedar forest. We consider this land sacred. We are only caretakers passing through, and honor this place and the original people of this land: The Molalla, Clackamas, and Kalapuya tribes, who were "relocated" to the Grand Ronde Reservation in the mid 1800's. Please be mindful of the energy of the forest, and all the people and animals who still reside and have come before. The forest is home to beavers, coyote, deer, raccoons, salamanders, frogs, and many bird species. Our dream is to share this land with all people to create community in harmony with nature and provide a safe space We welcome, open heartedly, people of all gender identity or expression, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, and artistic expression. WHEN YOU ARRIVE: Proceed down our long driveway to the bottom. Take a left at the sport court, and continue right. On your left is the woodshed with the "Calliope Farm" mural. You will see two parking spots to the left of the woodshed (Harmony Hollow parking) and two on the right (Hobbit Circle) You can unload here and grab a cart. Across from the parking, on the red barn, is the water station, and the hot tub sign up sheet. You will be walking/carting your things down to the forest where you will pass the outhouse on the left. For Harmony Hollow, after you cross the first bridge, take the path to the left and cross a second bridge and the campsite is on your right. For Hobbit Circle, cross the first bridge and walk around the pond, which will lead you to the campsite. The campsites are a short walk, (200 yards) but there is a decline, and you need to be a little hearty to walk back up the hill with your things. You will have a good amount of space and privacy for your group, but may encounter others visiting the forest as well. Enjoy a social time while respecting that some come for quiet and reflection. We provide a picnic table We wish to all work together for safety, with intelligence, common sense, and fire consciousness. OFFERINGS: We have a cedar hot tub, massage therapy, and an outdoor shower. The charge for the hot tub is $15 per person for 75 minutes of hot tub time. You can schedule the hot tub for privacy at the sign up sheet on the barn. If you would like to shower and not hot tub, the cost is $5 per shower, otherwise its included in the hot tub fee, and required for hot tub entrance. If you, or anyone in your group did not pay for a hot tub ahead of time, you will find a Venmo link on the barn, or can bring cash. HOT TUB: The hot tub sign up sheet is on the barn next to the water station. It is first come first serve. If you are a larger group using the tub, consider choosing a later spot for water displacement. If the hot tub is too hot, please add cold water from the hose to desired temp. PLEASE do not turn down the temperature on the hot tub, but use the cold water to create desired temp, but not below 102. If you are staying multiple nights and would like to hot tub again, the cost is $10 pp, instead of $15. Kids under 10 are $5 The hot tub is to the right of the house down by the garden. Your time is private, but we may need to visit/work in the garden. PLEASE read and be mindful of the hot tub etiquette posted in the hot tub area. VINEYARD: ~Silas Wines~ This is the original vineyard for Silas Wines founded in 2010. Our Pinot Noir vines are 40 year old Wadensville clone planted by the Ritter family in the early 80's. You are welcome to walk the vineyard, and explore the front of the property. Our neighbor Beth, to the west, is a master gardener, and loves to give tours of her gardens or you can wander on your own. (please inquire) Dogs: Please let us know if you will be bringing a dog. We and our neighbors have chickens that are penned and free ranged. Please DO NOT allow your dog (or yourself) to roam on our neighbors property over the fence in the next field to the East. He is very friendly, and we have a good relationship, but that is his request. Please pick up after your dog. Please do not lose site of dog, and keep them on leash in common areas. Please do not leave your dog unattended at the campsite or anywhere on the property where they will bark and disturb other guests. THE CARAVAN SPOT: Please let us know if you are needing a van camping spot opposed to tent camping in the woods. We do have a few different options for car camping, and when booking select the "caravan spot". We also can split up your group if some are tent camping and others need van camping, but you would need to book the two different sites. We look forward to hosting you and invite you to enjoy camping at Calliope Farm and the Cedar Forest. +++Our goal is to donate a portion of earnings to NAYA (The Native American Youth and Family center) and to MMIW (Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women).

Harmony Hollow is close to the creek, when it’s running, and a short walk down the path to a pond. This site is nestled in our old growth forest. There are no fires allowed in the old growth forest. We have two communal fire pits available with lots of seating . H.H. can fit two large tents and one small tent. There is a picnic table at the site.

Hobbit Circle is next a lovely small pond in a Beautiful cedar grove. This is a (short) walk~in site. You cannot drive to site. There are no fires allowed in the old growth forest. We have two communal fire pits available with lots of seating . The site has a picnic table and room for 4 tents.

This site is for up to 3 vehicles (Tent Camp/Van Camp/RV) and up to 8 people are allowed in this site. You may also tent camp in the woods here. You will be in our side forest or vineyard closer to the house and hot tub with a picnic table. There are no fires allowed in the side forest. We have a two communal fire pits available with lots of seating . The outhouse for this site is located behind the chicken coop. When the ground is wet, we recommend a 4 WD vehicle. In the summer, any vehicle is ok.

My partner and I started at Harmony Hollow for two nights and it was such a beautiful experience. The campsite is GORGEOUS, the outhouse was clean, and the hot tub and outdoor shower made this tent camping experience blissfully relaxing. There are easily spaces for at least two other tents on this campsite comfortably. I am already dreaming of the next time we can go visit.

Emily and Frank have a lovely campground that felt warm and welcoming. Upon arrival, Emily greeted us and provided a tour of the grounds, which included a beautiful tree-line with a handful of private tent spots along a down slope which led to 2 small ponds and a small walking trail. By the house there was a chicken coup, hot tub, and a barn with a yoga studio in upper floor. Even though we were in an eyeshot of the house it truly felt like we were in the middle of the woods. Apart from the tent site, we especially enjoyed the hot tub under the stars. Overall, we had a fantastic experience, if you’re looking for an intimate experience with lovely hosts this is your place. We looking forward to our next visit! Thank you again Emily and Frank!

Very unique property with gracious hosts. The hot tub area is even better in person and worth taking a soak to enjoy the view and relax. We only spent a night there but looking forward to coming back in summer and potentially doing a company retreat.

I so enjoyed my time. Emily greeting me and helped me to get situated by asking her husband to help me back my trailer up. They also welcomed my dog and allowed him to be off leash. My dog made friends with everyone. There property is beautiful and Emily encouraged me to roam the garden and the forest as well as enjoying the hot tub. I hot tubed in the early morning looking over the garden. I will definitely go back. Thank you for sharing your magical spot ❣️

Such an enjoyable night out among the big trees the birds and the salamanders. The hot tub was absolutely delightful and the forest quiet and restorative. We packed way too much for our night out in the woods but the cart made it easy to pack stuff in (downhill) and a good leg workout packing it back out uphill. Delightful hosts, and beautiful property.

Emily's place was awesome! This was a first time using Hipcamp for everyone in my group, and I think some of us are not going back to public campgrounds. Emily was great with communication and accommodated our large group. They have very friendly chicken, cat, and dog roaming the property which we all loved. Well, everyone except our dog who was not allowed to roam since she was not used to all the critters at this place. There were so many different critters! Our site was huuuuge, with plenty of space between 5 tents, all away from the picnic tables. From our site, we couldn't see the other campsites. The other campsites looked wonderful. If I get to come back, I'd def try the other sites. The 2 outhouses were easy to get to. The common fire pit was a great location for stargazing. The outdoor shower and amazing hot tub made our trip feel like glamping. We all enjoyed it so much, some of us used it again the next day. This trip was planned for my spouse's birthday, and Emily's place really made it special for him.

It was so peaceful. Its a lovely property, with lovely little walking paths, and a garden to wander through. While the hike in was a bit difficult with my physical limitations, it was so quiet and peaceful. It was the perfect little getaway we were looking for.

We just wrapped up our very first HipCamp stay, and it completely exceeded our expectations! From start to finish, everything about this experience was incredible. We brought our two dogs along, and they had just as much fun as we did. The property was spacious, peaceful, and beautifully maintained - exactly what we needed to unwind and disconnect for a while. The space had such a welcoming and serene energy. You could tell that a lot of care and thought went into the layout and upkeep. Every detail felt intentional and inviting. One of the absolute highlights was the cedar hot tub - it was pure bliss! After a long day of exploring and enjoying the outdoors, soaking in the hot tub under the stars was the perfect way to end the evening. It’s not always easy to find a getaway that feels this relaxing and also dog-friendly, but this place nailed it on all fronts. We felt completely at home and well taken care of, and it was so nice to have a space where our dogs could relax and enjoy the stay with us. We’ve already talked about making this a regular spot for us, and we can’t wait to come back. Highly, highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful escape with all the right touches!

Felt like camping in wilderness

Emily met us when we arrived and showed us around and had a lovely chat. The camp site was nestled in trees!. We felt like we had the entire place to ourselves because the other sites were far away. We didn't setup a campfire in our site because of dry season but used the fire pit near the outhouse which had chairs. We met the other campers there and Frank, one of the owners and had a great conversation by the fire. Overall we had a wonderful time with great hosts and a beautiful campsite. The one thing I would do differently was have two people help on cart. While going downhill, two people can help slow the cart. And we needed two people , one to pull and other to push the cart uphill because we over packed

We were tent camping and had a great experience, nice little walk to site, they let us use little carts to get our gear to the site. Really friendly hosts, came and chatted with us and some other campers by the fire. Highly recommend if you want to get away for a weekend, we'll definitely have to come back.

It was a second time that we camped there. Camping lot is well secluded enough from the host’s house. They have real nice gardens and hot tub area. You can’t make a fire at your spot for safety reasons. But they have nice common areas to make fire for Smores. It was nice stay. Hosts are very welcoming.

This place was magical while still having some modern amenities available. Hiking back and forth can get a bit tiresome but they make it much easier by allowing access to a cart. Asked us several times if we needed anything and they were just all around awesome host!
