Weekend Trip to Central Oregon Private Oasis

Marie and Patrick were so kind and accommodating! We were able to chat with them before booking to ensure we had an understanding of the site and what would be included. The site is about 15 minutes from Downtown Bend and they have an adorable little "shop" where you can grab little essentials if you need them, like lighters, toothpaste, etc. They even had firewood for a super reasonable price! They provided immediate responses to all our questions and allowed us privacy and flexibility during our stay! The site was on the opposite side of an RV garage providing a private area, complete with a nice port-o-potty for us to use. GREAT hosts! Highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to Winter Creek Acres

It was very nice we stayed for 1 nigjt and hiked smith rock and went to a waterfall to swim the next day great trip, only downside is that it’s hard to figure out where to set up camp we found a sorta flat spot and called it good wasnt bad at all, overall would recommend especially for the price

We loved our stay at Tom’s Rest. The property is expansive and beautiful. You get front row seats to sunsets over the snow-capped mountain range and at night, you get to see the stars—so many stars! We got to see the Milky Way with our own eyes, 2 out of the 3 nights we stayed. Cheryl is the kindest, sweetest person. We loved getting to know her and hope we get to see her on another stay at Tom’s Rest.

Very basic camping spot for our pop-up and that's what I expected. It's a but if a walk from sites 4 and 5 to the restroom, so on board potty would be a good idea. Beautiful setting. The views over the canyon are awesome and the light pollution free night sky is "heavenly". Cheryl is a very friendly and I'm helpful host.

Weekend Trip to Rancho Mateo

What a great site! Very quiet and private. When we arrived, Mateo showed me where to go and was very helpful. There are a mix of farm animals on the other side of the fence. They are friendly and cute. They do wake up early so if you sleep in, you may get waken up. Overall, it is very quiet and romantic spot. I'll definitely book again when we travel back to Bend.

Nice remote place to stay yet still an easy drive to Sisters/Redmond/Bend. Great views. Clouds hung over the mountains most of the time but I did get early views to enjoy. Still great views even with the high clouds. Cheryl has done some wonderful things with the property. Very interesting. She is a wonderful lady. I did take a walk in the labyrinth. I had an all-day event so did not spend as much leisure time as I should have there. This is my first hipcamp stay so not sure what to expect. I am a tent camper and in a traditional campground, it takes me a while (longer than most!) to scout out a good site with level/cleared site for my tent. It was very windy (expected in a higher open area) and I opted to sleep in my car as I have done in the past. I would say this is a great place if you have a camper/RV or plan to sleep in your vehicle. Less so for setting up a tent but I would still come back. It was great to enjoy a reserved spot without lots of other campers and their campfire smoke!

Wow, Kelly and Andy are running an exceptional camp experience! We stayed 4 days, visited the river and great spots, and returning to our base camp. The toilet and wash station were clean, the hosts truly great folks... Thanks for a wonderful John Day River adventure, love you guys !!

1 night at Antelope Market and RV Park Camping

This place is so cute and they are doing a lot of work to make it just perfect. The A-frames have electricity and air conditioning! Also, if you’re coming through with your bike, the host is a bike mechanic and made my gears shift like butter! The gathering space was perfect for morning coffee with the other guests. If you arrive and can’t check your Hipcamp notifications, the WiFi is on the fridge. I will definitely be back. Oh, the night stars are amazing also.

Had a great stay!! Will be back with my son I think he would really enjoy it! Host was great we had a hard time finding the place due to the app not giving a number she came down to meet us and open the gate.

Our unique location is close to Bend city limits and right next to Horse Ridge Mountain Biking Trails. BLM land surrounds the area, and is even accessible from the upper part of our property. Come out and enjoy the high desert and expore the juniper forest. We have tent camping sites and one tipi. We are currently in the process of still building out our glamping pods. However in the mean time you can currently book a stay at thoses sites for tent camping. The tent sites offer a comfortable setting for your tent in the sandy dirt. Each site includes a picnic table and a fire pit. We have a small community area! There you will find a mini outdoor kitchen with a blackstone and a bbq. (We have no water on-site) This is also where the trash bins are located. There is also a basketball hoop, yoga deck, and pull up /hanging bars. Next to the community area is where you will also find the bathroom, which is a clean porta potty. Come enjoy wandering the juniper forest and sage brush in Central Oregon’s high desert. We are next to 100’s of acres of BLM land, including the Horse Ridge Mountain Biking Trail System. There is hiking, biking, horse trails and ATV trails all nearby. Our open skies are great for daydreaming and stargazing. Come see how bright the milky way is out here Sage Ridge. Sage Ridge is only 15 miles east of Bend right off of Hwy 20.

It has allowed us the opportunity to enjoy everything Central Oregon has to offer and we hope you too can experience and enjoy it as much as we do. It's all about making memories. It's also perfect for Fall/Winter fun and avoiding the summer crowds. Simply stay on our 5 acre property with complete hook ups if you're looking to avoid the bustle of downtown and it's hotel prices! Our property is about 5 acres and tent spots are first come first serve with about 1 acre being closer to our house with shady grassy areas. The other 4 acres are in the pasture and mostly unshaded. Pitch a tent out in the pasture, near the canal that runs through the property. We are a perfect location to the fairgrounds for the Farewell Festival and all Bend festivals throughout the year. We are 4 miles to the festival sights in Redmond and 20 min to Bend. We offer shuttle rides to and from the festivities so just enjoy the ride, enjoy the show and come home for a relaxing evening under the stars. If coming for The Farewell Festival we offer the purchase of a weekend shuttle pass to and from the fairgrounds for the weekend so you can enjoy your time and not spend it stuck trying to get out of the parking lot!! If you are bringing an RV or trailer we have hookups for electric (first come basis). We are close to Bachelor for skiing, Smith Rock for hiking, Sisters for shopping, too many lakes to name and 20mins to all Bend has to offer and so much more!

There is no shortage of things to do close by. During festivals there is a three day minimum for all sites. No matter the time of year there is always something to do. We have hose water available to fill tanks or just drink. We have an outhouse on site. We have generator available for rent. Small items available to purchase for those forgotten items. Oregon is a 21 and older state. Everyone needs to be 21 years old to smoke cigarettes, marijuana, or drink alcohol so please obey state laws. That being said feel free to partake just be respectful with your cans and butts. Most nights only 1 night stay is required however there are some blocked out days or extended stays (only a couple times a year)

Camping is situated on 10 acres and just 10 minutes from the Crooked River, Prineville Reservoir and Millican Valley OHV Trail System . A 15 minute drive will take you to a very scenic hike at Chimney Rock Trail. Bend and Prineville are both a 30 minute drive away. The group tent site has two separate-12' x 14' flat gravel pads and will accommodate tents of all reasonable sizes. Also includes an outdoor shower/compostable toilet, BBQ with picnic area, and propane fire pit. The other two separate tent sites are roughly 20'x20' flat gravel pads and will accomodate 2 individual tents if needed. Also includes shared compostable toilet and individual propane fire pit. Hi and welcome to Picknik Place LLC! This is a 20 acre farm, so there is plenty of land to roam free and explore, as well as having your privacy from the primary residents. With this spot, you are nestled under a juniper tree with a lava rock backdrop and can watch the sun dip below the volcanos in the distance. This spot is very simple and tucked away. While feeling remote and removed from the Bend tourism, it only takes 15 minutes to get downtown, where there are ample restaurants, shops, coffehouses, etc. It takes 7 minutes to get to Trader Joe's and Home Depot, and 10 minutes to get to St. Charles Hospital. Heads up- as many places in central Oregon, Picknik Place gets pretty dusty and dry in the summer months.

Tom Edwards worked tirelessly for years to clear this wild recreation space where he planned to live while helping others. Tom suddenly and unexpectedly passed February 2, 2015 while in the process of making his move to Sisters with his High School sweetheart of 45 years. Cheryl continued his passion and their dream to make this a place for those in need as a way to honor the most giving man she ever knew. This process has brought some healing and it is our hope to continue that healing for others in need from life's many trials. Anyone having a grief, widows/widowers, caregiver, cancer, hospice or other group that would like to have their group listed should message us as well. These respite visits are short getaways to refuel and support individuals during tough times. Those that come to enjoy Tom's Rest will hopefully gain some needed respite. Most feel they are pretty much 'on their own' in this retreat area with the option for seclusion OR mingling if so desired. My deepest thanks to all who have stood alongside through this journey and continue to do so. Sunny Ponderosa Camp

Park in our large wrap-around driveway under our beautiful Ponderosa pines and fall asleep to the gorgeous view of the stars with no obnoxious streetlights. Don’t worry, we have a flood light and cameras to keep you and your stuff safe! Then wake up to the smell of our Juniper trees and watch our local group of mule deer grazing through the yard with views of Tumalo Mountain. Just across the street starts the Canal Trail that heads East and West. A 5 min bike ride East along the trail will take you to a Fred Meyer Grocery store, Starbucks, and much much more. Or take the Canal Trail West through the massive 123+ acres of forested public land that connects directly to the Deschutes River Trail (only 4 mins away). Once there, the outdoor activities are endless! Great fishing, bouldering, biking, swimming, rafting, and nature viewing spots are all within a couple minute walk from our home. Heading to the Old Mill or Hayden Homes Amphitheater for some shopping, a concert, restaurants, or drinks? It all starts 3/4 of a mile down the hill! If you’re viewing this posting, you probably already know all the amazing outdoor and sporting opportunities, entertainment, shopping, and eating that our beautiful town of Bend offers.
