Private cozy high desert corner
Farmland Site #2 was perfect for us and our reactive dogs. Very private and "cozy" under a gorgeous juniper tree with a lava rock backdrop. Sunsets were incredible and we enjoyed birding. We mainly wanted to test out some new camping gear, so being near the road and hearing traffic wasn't a big deal for this trip. There was also a burn ban in effect, but we typically don't make campfires anyway, so that didn't impact us at all.
Site is pretty dusty, and there is a ton of cheat grass beyond the gravel pad, so beware of that if you have dogs. We kept ours on leash and were just mindful of where we walked them on the property. The only downside was that previous campers left their TP in the bushes in the back. We picked it up before we left, but REMINDER: this site doesn't have a bathroom, so plan accordingly and pack it out! We came prepared with our own Luggable Loo toilet and a privacy tent.
I would absolutely stay here again. Conveniently close to town and all the recreation areas, easy to find, and lovely scenery.
