We purchased this slice of paradise in 2003 as a place to relax, recharge, and someday build our dream home. It started as nothing more than a gravel road leading to a small clearing with an old bus and a couple decks. Our children have grown up out here learning a deep respect for nature and the real (non digital) world. Now empty nesters, we live on site. Part of our retirement planning is to spend next several years developing the lower portion of the property (approx. 15 acres) into a campground and retreat for our guests, as well as our own family, friends, and grandchildren. The campground area (currently) consists of a handful of primitive campsites, and a group area. We are working steadily on improvements, including adding more sites, improving the roadways, and upgrading the common areas. In all we will likely have 12-15 total designated camping areas (including a group area or two, as well as a couple hike to secluded locations). There is also a lot of additional information listed on the individual campsite descriptions.

With plenty of room for 2+ tents this site offers a picnic table and a designated fire pit. The "Chop Wood" walking trail running behind this site provides the best path to the creek access areas. A large fallen Cedar lays in the back of this unique site, telling the story of the 1950’s logging era. The tree fall creates a magical tucked away area perfect for a tent. Next to extra guest parking the Cedar is right off the main road nestled near the old logging bridge (please stay off the bridge itself). With two leveled areas for tents surrounded by trees, you can listen to the creek burble under the bridge and experience the tranquility. Set back a little further from the road than the others, the sounds of the creek can be clearly heard from camp. This Deluxe site offers a larger camp area, more guests, and a 3rd car in the site. The site is also eligible for the Mini Yurt (Bell Tent) addon option for those interested in a little interested in adding a little "glamp" to their stay. Note: Though this site is quite close to the creek and offers great ambiance as a result, there is no easy direct access to the creek at this location. The best creek access to a beachy area is a couple hundred feet away at the center clearing (see map for details). This is the original camping spot my family used through the 2000's and 2010's. We have had very large family campouts here with tents and campers everywhere.  This is the area still used by my family to this day, but when not in use by my own family, we have decided to offer it to Hipcampers as a group site.  We have big plans for it in the long run, but for now it includes the features listed below.   Current Features: • Large Group Area (room for several tents, and/or small RV's). • Up to 20 Guests (12 Included in base rate) with up to 8 Vehicles. • 24 X 24 Covered area with under cover firepit. • Well water in site. • Under Cover Outdoor Kitchen (counter and storage shelving, sink, and gas countertop stove) • Off Grid Power: Solar panel with small battery array (DC Power) to run basic lighting, well pump, charge phones, misc. electronic devises, etc.. • 4 Picnic Tables and 2 Firepits.   For more details, pictures, descriptions and a comparison guide please visit www.zen-acres.com

The Elderberry is an excellent choice for a couple or small group. Though it is one of our smallest sites, it is still quite spacious compared to public campgrounds, and is well situated as the closest standard site to the main creek access point. This site is the closest to the main creek access area, and off to the side on a small secluded area across the little creek. There is a view of the main creek right from the campsite. This is an oversized, deluxe site. We may (in the future) add an RV and/or small yurt to this location to further enhance it, but for now it is being offered as a Premium campsite. We may have it ready as early as May 1st. We are taking advance bookings now for anytime after 7/1/26. However, if we complete it early, we will lift the block for immediate booking.

The place is beautiful. I spent a weekend there with a group of friends and we had a great time. Very green, with beautiful trees and a river to walk along. They treated us very well. Highly recommended for groups of people.

We loved camping at Zen Acres. The grounds are incredibly well kept and their communication was top notch. Prior to arrival Mike sent updates about finding the campgrounds and they even offered firewood and ice delivery. Having one less thing to pack made a huge difference. Ill definitely be coming back! Thanks team for helping to make a great weekend trip!

Beautiful property with well thought out campsites. We stayed at #4 which was spacious and private. You could see the campers at the site next to us but didn't feel like we were right on top of them. Once we set up the tent it blocked the view and made the site feel very private. I'd highly recommend and would definitely come back.

We just stayed here over the busy Labor Day weekend with our family of four & our dog, & we had a fantastic time. The site we were on was big (#3)— we easily fit our large tent with room to spare. Honestly, the space could have accommodated three or four more tents if needed. Even though there were other campers around, everything was well spaced out with trees offering a good amount of privacy. The layout of the campground is really well thought out. There’s a main road that makes it easy to get to other sites, the porta-potties, & the nearby creek — all of which were clean & easy to access. The vibe was great. There were campers of all ages & lots of friendly dogs. Despite the campground being busy for the weekend, it was surprisingly quiet at night & not rowdy at all during the day. We think the generous spacing between sites really helped keep things peaceful. Another big plus: you’re allowed to burn firewood in the designated fire pit at your site! Overall, this is a great spot with plenty of space & a laid-back atmosphere. We’ll definitely be coming back! Thanks so much, Mike!!

Camping at zen acres was fantastic. Big private camp sites! We could not even see our neighbors. The space was flat and clean with a very high quality table. The canopy was breathtaking. A short walk to the beautiful creek. It was also safe and quiet. Some people have complained on here about the port-a- potty. I have to say it was clean, close by, had toilet paper and was just fine! I’m not sure Mike could do anything better. He responded quickly was friendly and helpful. I much preferred it to state parks or other profit focused sites and property. This was set up for family’s and puppies. Our golden doodle was in heaven and made a bed in the ferns. GREAT WEEKEND! thank you Mike.

This is my second time staying here and it is hands down the best campground I've been to. I've been camping for years and this place is top notch. It's hard to find a campground that is as private and spacious as this one, these days. There is access to a beautiful creek that you can explore for hours, and the detail put into the property really shows. Mike is an amazing, super genuine host and offers daily ice/firewood delivery even. Also - the porta potties are ACTUALLY CLEAN!! The entire property just feels clean, serene, and well taken care of. We will be back next year again! And the year after that!

One of my favorite Hipcamp sites, just a short drive from Portland. Mike stopped by to check in, which was friendly and appreciated, and another attendant also came by to make sure everything was going well. The camp had ample space with nice tree coverage that helped block the wind. The ground was super flat, making sleep comfortable, and I really liked the mulch material throughout. A creek was close by and pleasant to sit near, and a couple of owls were hooting during the day, which was really nice.

Site #7 was the perfect size for a group of 9! Just enough room for four tents. The directions to get to the site were great but the lack of signs at the entrance was slightly confusing. It appears like you are rolling up to someone’s home/property (which is the hosts) but almost felt like we were intruding someone’s space. If there was a sign welcoming you to Zen Acres I think that would be great 😊

This place is amazing! Mike has done a fabulous job making this the perfect place to dry camp! We stayed in site #7 and had three dogs. The spot is large. So nice for them to be able to run around off leash and not feel like we were doing something wrong. Not only was the site huge - but Mike has made sooo many walking trails through the woods so you never feel confined to the campsite. The trails were perfect for taking our morning coffee walks. We were there during the week and literally never heard anyone else in the campground. So quiet and peaceful. The creek area is absolutely beautiful. Mike has done a great job making easy access to the water and creating lovely beach areas. Thank you so much Mike for opening up your property to us. We had an amazing time and can’t wait to go back!

The property is beautiful, each site is unique and there are well kept portapotties. Other campers were very kind and respectful. Lots of dog activity. The kids loved playing in the creek which is gentle and fairly shallow in most places, but a perfect reprieve from the heat.

This campsite was worth every single penny. They are so kind, and helpful and bring you firewood right to your campsite for small fee. The river on the property is stunning and clear and so peaceful. Our campsite was 1-fir and it was so well kept and spacious, and great for hammocks too bc of the perfectly paired trees. Loved everything about it!

Site #1 was great! Farthest from the rest, just had site #2 across the way. We almost got stuck on the way out (driving up the gravel road), but made it! Nice to have the county park right next door, with hiking trails and a swimming hole. We had a great time, thanks!!!

The campsite was well maintained, sizable, and absolutely gorgeous. It was across the gravel road from another campsite, but they were staggered and far enough away that it wasn't an issue. Add to that the Cedar campground has a lot of books and crannies to spend time in that area sheltered from the road and you have a wonderfully peaceful place to spend your time at camp.

Absolutely perfect example of the pacific northwest camping! Trees for shade, creek to cool off, privacy between sites and friendly, welcoming people. Mike and Christina work hard and it shows. There is nothing more I could ask for, except possibly a secret marker at the driveway for the first time getting there. Like other reviews said, be prepared for the steep drive in, we had no problem pulling a trailer with a 4wd truck. We will be back!

We highly enjoyed our stay! The location was very convenient and the hosts were very helpful and friendly. During our stay we enjoyed the short walk to the creek and all the foot trails throughout! The firewood and ice delivery was wonderful as well!! We would like to come back sometime! The property was tidy and the outhouses remained clean throughout as well.
