Terwer RV Park is the kind of place that is getting harder to find. It is simple, peaceful, and full of old-fashioned campground charm. We are not a luxury resort, and we do not try to be. What makes this place special is the open space, the quiet mornings, the scattered trees, the fresh coastal air, and the slower pace that makes you want to sit outside just a little longer.
The Klamath River is just over the levee, only a short walk from camp. It is a beautiful place to fish, swim, explore, or simply sit and enjoy the water. The river is known for salmon and steelhead fishing, and a valid fishing license is required. During peak fishing season, especially in August and September, you may hear early morning activity from guests heading out to the river.
We are located about 4 miles off Highway 101, close enough to be convenient but far enough away to feel tucked away from the rush. Wildlife is common in the area, so please secure your food and trash at night.
There is so much to explore nearby. Guests love visiting Redwood National and State Parks, Trees of Mystery, Klamath River Jet Boat Tours, coastal viewpoints, hiking trails, biking routes, and quiet places to wander among the redwoods.
A few things to know before you book:
* Firewood is available on site.
* Cell service can be spotty depending on your carrier. Free Wi-Fi is available and reaches most of the campground.
* Electric vehicle charging is $20 per charge and must be arranged ahead of time. 50 amp service is limited, and guests must provide their own adapters.
* Well-behaved pets are welcome.
* Kids, laughter, bikes, campfires, and simple outdoor fun are always welcome.
* We offer dry camping, 30 amp sites, and 50 amp pull-through sites.
* Late arrivals are okay. If you plan to arrive after 10:00 p.m., please text us before 9:00 p.m. so we can send check-in instructions.

The campground is remotely located on private property and perfectly located for excursions to the Pacific Ocean, Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park, the Smith River National Recreation Area, and the Pacific Coast Ranges and mountain lakes such as the Devil's Punchbowl, Buck Lake, and Raspberry Lake.
Relax and free you mind while camping on 120+ acres of private property under starry skies with almost no light or noise pollution. You are not alone on the mountain as other people live here in the wild. You only have access to the campground and a nearby pond. A locked gate with code access. The road to get there is two and a half miles up the mountain, the first mile is paved and the other mile and a half is gravel. The road is maintained by the county and used daily by others that live and work here. In the surrounding area you can enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking, fishing, surfing, beachcombing, birdwatching, and countless other outdoor activities. French Hill Trail is a few more miles up the mountain road.
The campsites have picnic tables and fire rings, and campers are provided with 5 gallons of potable water. An outdoor, COLD-water Artesian shower, out in the open mountain air with the wild things and an outhouse with a compost toilet are also provided. Bundles of firewood are available for an extra charge when you book your campsite.
The campsites are set within a deciduous and pine forest at about 1913 feet in elevation. There is a pond on the property, but its purpose is for wildlife habitat ONLY, so water activities are NOT allowed. NO swimming, NO fishing, NO boating, NO trapping, etc. The wild things live here!
The property owner has a dog, three cats, and a menagerie of yard birds such as turkeys, peacocks, guinea hens, chickens, ducks, geese, etc. They do make noise! Kirk has lived off-grid for over twenty years and holds a wealth of information about the Gasquet/Del Norte County area.
Perhaps the most interesting feature of the property is that it has had documented Sasquatch encounters over the past twenty years that have been published in "Tribal Bigfoot" (D. Paulides 2009). Kirk can tell you about his experiences with this and other phenomena on the property.

What a treat this little spot was ! Even though you are right off the road, it still gives the feeling of being remote . We had no reception at all there, which was great for us but might not be for others. The cabin with a toilet is a nice additional comfort! The land itself is really beautiful and has wonderful energy! It was a short , last minute stay and we didn’t end up checking out the river spot, which I regret. Would definitely stay again ⛺️

Overnight stay felt safe and spots were clean. Host had water in a container waiting for us. Lots of bugs but that is to be expected- just bring bug spray. There is no service so screenshot the gate lock code and address so you have access to it offline.

I really enjoyed my car camp stay at Terwer. Plenty of space, bathrooms/hot showers available., firewood onsite. The location was very prime too-right by the Klamath river, near Redwoods NP, as well as the beach. The hosts were very responsive and welcoming. I recommend to walk up the hill nearby to catch sunset off of the Klamath, it was stunning with the fog rolling in. I would definitely stay here again when I am down near that way. The hosts have expansion plans for the camp too, looking forward to see it grow!!

Loved this camp site. The running water/toilet was great. Having access to the river was awesome. Camp site was clean with plenty of room for tents. Fire pit was perfect for everything we needed. Would definitely book this site again.

Cortney and her husband are so welcoming and helpful, I had lots of questions and received answers so promptly I was surprised.
Very clean the whole place and especially the bathroom!
Courtney guided me to the best site for my needs as well as the actual site upon arrival.
All the campers kind and respectful.
It got very quiet before quiet time and it was 4th of July weekend.

We had a fantastic stay. The site is beautifully maintained, private, and wonderfully quiet. It’s so secluded that our dogs were able to stay off-leash the entire time, and they absolutely loved it. The restroom was clean as well.
The path down to the river is a bit slippery, so be sure to wear proper shoes. Once you get down there, though, the water is calm, there’s no one else around, and it’s the perfect place to relax.
Kam, the host, was incredibly kind and welcoming. We’d love to come back if we ever have the chance.

While it’s an older campground, it is very well maintained and it appears as if the owners are upgrading the facilities.
We experienced fabulous communication all throughout our visit and were met at the entrance before we could even park the RV to check in. We were promptly escorted to our site where we enjoyed a peaceful night with full hook ups.
We would certainly stay again whenever passing through the Redwoods area. We wish the new owners great success!

Great place to stay with full hook ups, near the redwoods, right on the river. Nice clean bathrooms, laundry facility, blackberries all over the place, and our dog appreciated the fenced dog-run. The sites are close together but not so close that you feel overcrowded. It’s a convenient location, close to the redwood parks and beaches and Crescent City.

Great and well-equipped site! We brought our own seasonings and cooking supplies but realized we didn’t need them when we got to the camp. The cabin was small but was perfect for cooking (especially when we realized there were gonna be light showers the first day/night we got there). Just enough space for us to set up 2 tents and even a canopy above the picnic table! Also loved the firewood that was available for us to use as well. Overall we felt safe, comfortable, and had a wonderful stay. Waking up to the sounds of the wildlife and nature was quite nice as well!

This place is definitely a hidden gem! The property is absolutely beautiful, tucked away in the mountains and surrounded by trees and blackberries we ate as a snack. It was unbelievably peaceful and relaxing! The location is super convenient to Redwood NP, only about 30 min from the best trails in the north. The amenities included were amazing, and definitely make this the best value site we’ve stayed at. The bathrooms were very clean with hot showers, and while we didn’t use the lake access we saw several people coming back with boats. There was even a dish washing station! Courtney could not have been any more accommodating and kind to us. She let us add a second night with a late check out very last minute, and checked in to make sure everything was going well. We wish them great luck running the RV park and we definitely recommend it to anyone looking in this area!

We stayed two days at Courtney's camp area. Courtney was welcoming, helpful, and kind. As soon as we arrived, she and her family welcomed us with a big smile and asked how we were doing. She lent us a tent, because I had forgotten to pack part of my tent. She saved our day and experience. On our last day, she suggested places to visit around Klamath and other cities.
The camping area was clean, quiet, and peaceful. I highly suggest this place.

It was a beautiful stay at redwood meadows RC resort. It was close to northern part of redwoods. The Hiochi market next to the resort has everything you possibly need and had good options. The campsite was easy to find and had all those amenities that makes my stay an easy one.
