2 nights at Lower Lake Farm Camp

Thank you so much Jose & Carolyn for your amazing hospitality & kindness you showed us during our 2 day stay. Lower Lake Farm Camp was 40 degrees cooler then our temp at home allowing us to refresh, reset & relax. Your recommendations & suggestions were spot one. Watched a beautiful sunset at Kellogg Beach, biked to the Earl Lake & the Smith River, enjoyed the surfers on South Beach & star gazing. There was so many wonderful adventures nearby so we'll have to return to discover more. We so enjoyed the fresh squash out the garden & feeding the animals. Josh bent over backwards providing us with a picnic table, fire pit, wood & assistance in hooking our trailer up. Thank you K&D

The host was great and welcomed us to our site and provided us with the rundown. As far as previous reviews, this isn’t a state campground, nor is it your upscale glamping. This place is like staying in your mothers yard in a free spirited and good intentions environment. The only downside is being next to the hwy, granted, it’s a great location and if you bring ear plugs it wont be a problem.

The sound of the creek will take away all your stress. The swimming hole is beyond epic. They went above and beyond with fresh baked cookies and veggies from their garden! He even brought us extra ice and offered all the firewood we needed. I have a big dog and they even put there dog away so mine could be free! The horse is just walking around the property and is super nice. Thanks again for an amazing stay!🇺🇸

3 nights at Klamath’s Best Kept Secret

Patti’s place was quiet and had all the necessities! We stayed midweek and pretty much had the place to ourselves! The showers were hot and the bathrooms clean, there’s a great outdoor sink set up for dishes and she even had a washer and dryer available to use. She is the sweetest and this place is centrally located between the parks, great if you’re trying to fit a lot in in a small timeframe.

The back of Andrew’s property is a tiny little magical forest. I really loved having access to that outdoor space! The camping amenities were helpful and well thought out. As others have mentioned, the camp spot is close to the road. From about 10:30pm to 6:30am there was no traffic and it was peaceful and whisper quiet. Great for a good nights sleep. Once the morning commuters started it was about what you’d expect being close to the road, but I was up and on my way soon after so it wasn’t an issue. I wouldn’t plan to sleep in and lounge in the morning, but it was perfect for a “Redwoods Rest Stop”

This campsite is in a really remote location with level ground that made setting up easy. The hosts were available, friendly, and helpful without being intrusive. We were honored to be welcomed into their beautiful private paradise. The swimming hole was magical. Really beautiful and refreshing. We had a hard time leaving and are already talking about booking another trip back.

We really enjoy our stay in Wayne’s Property, especially the kids and also thank to his wife’s Delicious Chocolate chip cookies, the kids loves it. Wayne and his wife greeted us and give us instructions about our campsite when we arrived, location is very nice, it is surrounded with trees in the middle of the mountain, plus the swimming hole is a bonus. We will recommend the campsite to our friends and we will be back!!

Most beautiful land and most amazing hosts! They were so helpful and even so understanding at our late arrival, we highly recommend this farm to everyone we can and sure cannot wait to go back!

3 nights at Redwoods Rest Stop

We really enjoyed staying at this spot. The location was great for us - about 6 or 7 minutes to both downtown Eureka and Arcata. It is nicely set up for privacy, with some very nice amenities (lounging area, water, trash and recycling, and power - which we didn’t use.) It has a country feel, and though on a moderate use road was very quiet at night. We’ll stay here again when in the area.

4 nights at Lower Lake Farm Camp

Very kind and helpful hosts! Ramone was amazing. He saw us coming and helped us navigate their entrance-which was a tight fit for our 40' Class A. He got us safely in! He also let us borrow a ladder for some RV repair work. Carolyn showed the kids their new lambs and allowed our kids to pet and feed their livestock. Their property has 5 sites so your whole party could stay here. They are a very short drive from the ocean and have great access to Crescent City and the Redwoods.

4 nights at Lower Lake Farm Camp

Carolyn and Jose are very gracious hosts. They were available to answer questions, but generally left us to our privacy. The sites are well spaced in an open area. The location is close to the northern end of the Redwood National and State Park, as well as just over a mile from Tolowa Dunes State Park.

We had a great time, Carolyn and Jose are amazing guests, they made us feel very welcomed. Their place is beautiful, and just 10 minutes away from Jedediah State Park. Our baby enjoyed the animals, and we loved the fresh eggs.

Surrounded by towering trees in the heart of Redwood National Forest and just a few minutes from the Pacific Ocean, this is a true hidden gem on California’s North Coast. We offer a rustic, old-fashioned camping experience. It’s a mix of open field and scattered trees, with both RVs and tent campers on site. Neighbors will be nearby, but the vibe is quiet and relaxed—especially in the off-season, when you might have the place nearly to yourself. The Klamath River is just over the levee—a short walk from your site—with great access for fishing, swimming, or simply relaxing by the water. The river is world-famous for salmon and steelhead fishing (license required). August and September are peak fishing months, so expect a few early morning engines from folks heading out. We’re only 4 miles off Highway 101, far enough to enjoy peace and quiet without traffic noise. Wildlife is part of the experience here, so please stash your food at night to keep critters out of camp. Outdoor lovers will find plenty to explore nearby—hiking and biking trails, the Trees of Mystery, Jet Boat Tours, and, of course, miles of redwood forest to get lost in. A few things to note: Firewood available Cell service can be spotty, depending on your carrier. Free Wi-Fi is available and reaches most of the campground. Electric car charging is $10 per charge. Please arrange ahead of time—50 amp service is limited, and you’ll need your own adapters. Well-behaved pets are welcome. Kids and laughter are always welcome. If you are looking for a unique experience and up for rustic accommodations among goats, chickens, a permaculture food forest with a few off-grid perks, we welcome you to join us in our mountainous, wilderness paradise! Our 160-acre property is surrounded by about a million acres of National Forest. Our neighborhood is all made of trees, huckleberry bushes and animals. We love it here. It is very remote, peaceful, and functionally sustainable in its focus. The closest neighbor is a Buddhist Hermitage about a mile up the forestry road. Also, supposedly, Sasquatch live here! (it is the epicenter for documented sightings). Most visitors to the area are interested in spending time in the redwoods – we are about 30-45 minutes from the nearest entrance to Jedediah Smith Park, home of Stout Grove and other beautiful redwood hikes. Driving into Crescent City, about 45-60 minutes, winds you right through the "gentle giants" on your way to or from Redwood National Park. We are self-sufficient, and sustainable in a relatively primitive set-up, especially after the fire this year. It's mountainous and remote, and we have a community agreement about no smoking (of any kind) on our land.
