Chinook's RV Park offers a mixed camping experience. Many guests appreciate the scenic river views and spacious tent sites, perfect for stargazing and morning views. However, some amenities like restrooms and Wi-Fi have been noted as subpar, and the absence of advertised features like a playground and boat dock has left some campers disappointed. Maintenance issues and interactions with long-term residents also affect the overall vibe for some visitors.

Their website shows a boat dock, their is a plaque thanking someone for putting one in.
There is no dock, bathrooms are not serviced. There is good hot water. Looks like a few long time tenants in older trashy condition
Lots of stuff piled around them. There are nicer parks next door.
The tent camping on Chinook’s Rv Park was great. The amenities where exactly as listed, easy access to restrooms, laundry room and very well organized. The little plot for the tent had a campfire ring with a grill and was well lit. The space available was very open and made for a great star gazing and early morning river views. Beautiful spot 10/10 would recommend.

We booked this location because of the playground in the image. We had our two kiddos and were annoyed at the deception. We spoke to the gas attendant down the road and they said it has never been there. They do have a map that states the playground is coming soon. That should be listed on here.
The bathrooms are clean and the campground is pretty packed. They also have residents that live there for extended periods. The image of the playground needs to be removed, because it’s the main image and the campground looks nothing like the image.
The WiFi is pretty bad and there is no service.
Sites were big, bathroom was super clean neighbors were nice, i wanted to stay longer but was just passing thru, would definitely recommend

We booked the day before, and they accepted our payment, when we got there, there were issues and NO ONE answered the phone when we called the number they gave us. If it weren’t for one of their current residents telling us where to find their workers we would have been stuck. Maddie (worker) was our saving grace as she was able to get answers for us! Website also noted there was WI-FI, nope! They need to do much better for their campers, and ensure that what is listed on their website is true!
Great location and clean campsite! Just minutes south of the trees of mystery.

This camping trip more than satisfied. I love how this campground/RV area is like a pop-up community. People were friendly, staff were helpful and accommodating, and the scenery was breathtaking. Definitely did not disappoint. We're already talking about our next trip back.

The tent site was nice. It offered ample space and had a picnic table and good sized fire pit. The view over the water was also beautiful. There shower hall was well maintained and had full length mirrors which I appreciated! We also very much appreciated that late check ins are welcome - we were running later than we hoped and this relieved a lot of stress. The rest of the camp left a little to be desired. The small bathrooms provided for the tent sites were poorly maintained. Trash overflowing and “water” (hopefully) all over the floors. The atmosphere of the camp was also unwelcoming at times. Someone was blasting loud Metallica music first thing in the morning and someone was screaming at there dog so loud I was concerned for the dog at 11:30 at night - not the camps fault necessarily but not the best experience.

Super comfy spot. Good beds, nice setting. We really enjoyed our stay. Weather was so nice, which obviously can’t be guaranteed, but the cool night air provided for outstanding sleep!

A very nice place to camp. Spacious spots, flat ground close to water and wildlife.
Great place to stay with full hook ups, near the redwoods, right on the river. Nice clean bathrooms, laundry facility, blackberries all over the place, and our dog appreciated the fenced dog-run. The sites are close together but not so close that you feel overcrowded. It’s a convenient location, close to the redwood parks and beaches and Crescent City.

The tent site was very glamping (in a positive way) we brought our 1yr old and it was great. Beds were very comfortable. Absolute gorgeous view of the river and especially at sunset.

It was very quiet, close to the beach and we really enjoyed it. The only thing would be that we wanted to go down to the river but the path was overgrown and we couldn't get down to it.

Easy to pull up at evening (8pm ish) and receptionist was actively patrolling around making me feel very comfortable to tent camp. Good calming stuff. The cold only showers were a good wake up.
Very beautiful but definitely thought I would have a stand up bbq pit other than that nice place to camp.

No one is on premises. The spots are all grass and they had just mowed but didn’t pick it up so there was loose, wet grass everywhere. Bathrooms are under construction. Hookups worked fine and the river was very pretty but the place next door looked much nicer.

We loved the location and the manager. We didn’t get her name, but she was wonderful; very friendly and constantly working around the camp. The hot water in the showers got extremely hot and never ran out. However, “resort” in the name is definitely a misnomer. The bathhouse needed some tlc, and was not heated. Water pooled around the base of the toilets, which did not seem to be caused by the showers, based on my shower experience. The sewer hookup in one row of rv sites was plugged. We moved to a different row to find a site that had a hookup that was not full. We ended up close to the river, which was a beautiful site every morning. The rv sites are extremely close together; you and the camper next to you will both be right on top of the electricity and sewer hookups. We discovered some long term campers that were not so great; one had three dogs that he didn’t clean up after in the (really great dog park). There is no playground anymore, and there is a junk pile behind the dog park. The office/rec center was never open. Overall we had a great time, but it was in spite of the disappointing aspects. The manager, the view, the dog park, and the impressively hot and long-lasting hot water make it doable for someone who isn’t looking for a true resort.

Right next to the river and really nice spot. Clean restrooms and shower. Stayed in campgrounds area. Wear good shoes bc it's wet from all the mist.
