So beautiful, romantic, and equipped! It really has everything you could need while remaining pretty minimalist. The steamy outdoor shower on a cold morning was healing, and the privacy of the toilet was ideal (totally worth it to walk outside the cabin for a moment, and you’re still totally protected from rain and dirt on the couple of steps it takes to reach it.) Can’t wait to come back.

We love Ted and Emily’s place! It’s so cozy and wonderfully located. It has everything you need and is the perfect little getaway for a relaxing trip.

Cool place - was exactly as advertised! Wood fireplace kept me warm, fresh well water on tap, and an outdoor shower. Great for one or two people who plan on spending their time adventuring and not hunkering down until they have used all the daylight.

This glamping situation rocks! It is unassuming, super quiet, simple, with wood and windows. The bonus is there is running water, a toilet and a shower.

Cute cabin - really nice to have heat (wood stove), electricity, and a real sink, shower, toilet.
This is my oversight but reiterating the alert to others: they do not provide bedding! The pics all show a made bed so I guess my brain just glazed over that part in the description. Glad they left dry wood, kindling and a throw blanket for the cool night. Slept with a strong fire going and my jacket as a pillow.
Could be improved: Whole place smelled a little bit like cat pee.
Looks dreamy in the warmer months. Under 10 mins to downtown arcata.

My husband and I absolutely loved this magical space! Even in such a short stay this place gave to us serenity, inspiration, wonderment, and peace. It definitely made for a sweet celebration of my birthday that I will cherish forever! Thank you! We will definitely return soon!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this cabin! The location was peaceful, private, and surrounded by beautiful scenery, the perfect spot to relax and disconnect.
Our host was incredibly welcoming and responsive, and offered great local tips.
Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a quiet escape in nature!

The sweetest cabin in the most convenient location! This camp had everything we needed - hot shower, flushing toilet, and a simple, cozy outdoor kitchen setup. Only 5-10 minutes from the hub of Arcata. The cabin felt really private and was nestled in the most darling grove of aspens. Would recommend and would love to come back!

Nice cute affordable place to stay. I really liked the hot outdoor shower and the signature banana slugs. My dog didnt want to leave this place or Humboldt in general! Cute little porch and was very quiet to read etc. Also included sink and lots of kitchen utensils etc. It was very chill! Ted the host is friendly and makes sure you feel welcome!

Emily and Ted's magical cabin offered a gorgeous place to start and end our days and a cozy place to recharge with a full schedule of activities. There were black-tailed deer waiting to greet us when we arrived and over a dozen species of birds to hear and see every morning. The hosts were kind and accommodating but offered plenty of privacy and space to do our own thing. The timberframe architecture and joinery is beautifully done, and we appreciated the solar electricity and propane hot water that made it much easier to travel with a 6 year old. Hope we get to visit again someday!

Bayside Cabin
This was my 2nd time at the cabin. We just loved our stay! The bed is so comfy and the cabin was warm and cozy from the wood stove. The flushing toilet and hot shower are a nice touch as well. We like to ride our bikes to get around and the cabin is a perfect spot to be just far enough from the busyness of downtown but close enough to get downtown on bike in 10 minutes. There’s also a store and restaurant in walking distance. We can’t wait to come back!

What a beautiful spot! It was definitely rustic, but added to the overall charm. I read reviews about the banana slugs beforehand, and they were not wrong about how plentiful they are! But that too was kind of fun. We enjoyed making an indoor fire to keep warm (although it quickly became apparent it was warm enough we didn’t need to do so!) and an outdoor fire for smores. Great little outdoor kitchen, and the location was really nice. We had amazing food the whole time, including at the little breakfast spot within walking distance. So so good!

Staying in the cabin was lovely - cabin was very toasty with the heater, and the bed was very comfy. A beautiful “glamping” night. They also had some great local recommendations (cafe mokka especially)

OMG! This is a slice of heaven in a secret forest! I am so grateful I got to stay here! Loved the book selection on cabins and farmsteading. Was toasty all night with the wood stove. Loved the company of the banana slugs and your beautiful garden. Thanks for having me! Wish I could have brought my dog. Tried to get yours to hang but he didn’t want to say hello. So well behaved.

This was honestly one of the best places we’ve ever stayed. Our home recently burned down in a wildfire and staying here made us excited to dream about possible rebuilding in our future. The cabin is so charming and well done. It’s definitely rustic, but this is an app for people who like camping so… We loved all the small touches, being walking distance to a great breakfast spot, having privacy from the main house, and the really cool toilet and outdoor shower + kitchen set ups. Very inspiring. I was devastated to leave the banana slugs and the perfect cabin behind.

Such a lovely little cabin! My partner and I stayed here for just 1 night but it was beautiful and quiet, the perfect stop along our highway 1 road trip. The land is so pretty, and it’s a short walk into town for a grocery store and some great eateries. It was the perfect balance of “glamping”!

One word: AMAZING! This place was so charming. Although it was located on their property, everything was extremely secluded and the hosts were very respectful about privacy. Warm showers, a flushable toilet, firewood, and banana slugs— what more could you want? The indoor fireplace kept us extra toasty at night but the weather truly wasn’t terrible outside in late July (coming from someone from Arizona!!) We would absolutely stay here again

This cabin was a great find! Close to several restaurants while still having an off-the-beaten-path feel. Shower worked great, water gets nice and hot. Enjoyed seeing some banana slugs as well. Bed was comfortable and interior cabin was very clean and cozy. 10/10 would recommend!

Nothing prepared us for how magical staying at Ted and Emily’s cabin would be. Tucked away in a little grove on their property, it felt secluded but still warm and inviting. We made friends with the adorable banana slugs and enjoyed a fire in the evening. I definitely recommend bringing your own sheets, pillows, and towels as they aren’t provided by the host. We had a lovely time and would definitely come back.

Bayside Cabin was in a beautiful aspen grove. We enjoyed a symphony of bird song and felt like we were forest bathing while falling asleep. We loved the cozy woodstove right in the cabin on a cool evening. Nice hot outdoor shower. The banana slugs were super interesting to share the forest with. John enjoyed disc golfing at Manila Bay Park. Enjoyed walking around the town park/square in Arcata and enjoyed a delicious Italian restaurant called Venicia. Highly recommend Bayside Cabin!

We had a lovely weekend at this cabin! It is beautifully constructed with gorgeous views out of every window. We were so appreciative of the kitchen setup, hot shower, comfy bed, and fire wood provided by the hosts! It is not the most private hip camp we’ve stayed but overall it was excellent.
