Discover the most magical spots to pitch your tent or park your rig on your next Trinidad State Beach adventure.

Just off Highway 101 below the charming hamlet of Trinidad, this coastal gem has unrivaled ocean views. Park at the south end of Trinidad State Beach near the pier and tackle a loop trail on Trinidad Head for vistas of the town and coastal bluffs. Stroll neighboring Old Home Beach, where you can launch a kayak into the protected waters of Trinidad Harbor, or set off on a shoreline walk to the tidepools of College Cove—the sheltered beach can also be reached after a short hike through the spruce forest. The nearest camping is at Sue-meg State Park.
Trinidad State Beach is for day use only, open from sunrise to sunset. Low tide is the best time to visit, as it provides full access across the sandy beach from harbor to cove. Seasonal wildflowers sprinkle the high bluffs and open meadow above the beach. Coastal fog lingers during summer months, with clear days more common in spring and fall. Rainfall averages about 60 inches a year, most of it between October and April.
