Lisa and Jeff have created a cozy cabin for anyone wanting to explore the ocean and coastal redwoods. They went out of their way to make sure our stay in the cabin was cozy and memorable. They’ve made a lot of choices that make the space feel more open, like having a clear shower curtain so you can see the full bathroom and using open shelving in the kitchen We highly recommend the Elf Cabin.
The cabin in a 5 minute drive from College Cove in Trinidad State Beach, which was a beautiful place to watch the sunset. Then we were only a short drive away from the south end of Redwood National and State Parks.

Lisa was very friendly. She normally doesn't keep the cabin open after August but she accommodated us warmly for a late-September rental.
The cabin was very nicely appointed and clean. My wife and I were very pleased with the accommodations.
I asked for spots she recommended to visit in the Redwoods and she responded well.

Super quiet, comfy and cozy space. The Wi-Fi is strong enough so two of us could work remotely while enjoying the beautiful surroundings. The shower had great water pressure and unlimited hot wate thanks to the tankless hot water heater. Perfectly located with only a few minute drive to so many beautiful beaches, state parks and national parks. Would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend.

Jeff and Lisa's cabin was the perfect place to stay during our trip to the west coast. They provided everything we needed over our three night stay. The bed was very comfortable and the entire aesthetic of the interior was both charming and cozy. They provided all of the fire wood, toilet paper (the good stuff), shampoo/conditioner, cooking utensils and coffee. We were greeted by Lisa and her dog, Covey, the first night and she made sure we were settled in nicely and gave us a few suggestions on where to eat in town. On the last night, Jeff dropped by after he got off of work while we were outside enjoying drinks next to the campfire. In our conversation with him we learned a lot about the cabin itself and the history behind it. Both Lisa and Jeff were very personable and great hosts. We can't recommend this place enough!

Perfect little home base from which to explore the natural beauties of redwood country. This little cabin had everything we needed and nothing we didn’t. We enjoyed picking wild blackberries on the way to Secret Beach and even saw a fox run across the lawn early one morning. Lots of thoughtful touches made this trip delightful. Thank you!

Tucked away beneath the trees, this enchanting cabin offers a truly effortless escape into nature. From the moment we arrived, it felt like such a sanctuary, so peaceful and welcoming.
The cabin is thoughtfully appointed with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. The kitchen is well-stocked with all the essentials, including coffee grounds and a French press. I loved the view of all the greenery out the kitchen windows. The skylight above bathes the space in natural light, making the entire cabin feel bright, airy, and serene. Everything was spotlessly clean, making it comfortable to easily settle in. The shower got nice and toasty warm. The bed was soo comfy too.
The hosts thoughtfully provided firewood, kindling, and even a helping hand to get our fire started.
It’s a rare treat to find a place that balances comfort and wilderness so seamlessly. Definitely recommend this spot :)

We loved the Elf cabin. Comfortable and the bed put us to sleep quickly..! Great hot water for showers. Also very quiet and clean.
Covey was the cutest old pup who hung out with us on the cabin’s front porch.

We loved staying at Elf Cabin. It was neat, tidy, beautiful, and had everything we needed to cook meals while we explored the redwoods. Not to mention, Covey, their dog, was excellent company! The only suggestion we have for improvement would be to include screens on the windows. It would have been nice to have air flow into the cabin at night without letting bugs in.

My stay here was perfection. The cabin is simple and beautiful. Lisa and Jeff, clearly restored and refurbished it with lots of love and attention to details. The land and surrounding areas are quiet and pristine. I walked down to the secret beach and all the way into town and back one day. Gorgeous views of the ocean and the beach was almost uninhabited. The town of Trinidad is lovely too. The second day I was there I drove up to Sue-Meg state park (just a short drive north) and hiked around for hours. Highly recommend. Lisa and Jeff were perfect hosts, available if you needed something but offering privacy. I look forward to returning. Thank you Lisa and Jeff for sharing this beautiful place.

This cabin was just right. Close enough to town for supplies and exploring, but far enough away for a peaceful retreat. Lisa and Jeff were very accommodating and easy to talk to. We will definitely be staying here again!

Lisa was a very great and responsive host. You can tell she has thought of everything you might need. Although we didn’t get the privilege of meeting her directly, we did get to meet her sweet pup.
The cabin has its quirks that I found to be quite fun and unique, the fire pit is a great touch underneath the stars and the property is in perfect proximity to Sue Meg, Trinidad, and some really cool beaches. We will be back! 🩷

Absolutely heaven in Trinidad.. Covey the dog is your welcoming committee but the birds and banana slugs stole the show. Love this place and can’t wait to return.

I could write a novel on how much my girlfriend and I enjoyed our stay. First off this is in beautiful Trinidad, CA which is an amazing redwood town with gorgeous coastal beaches and views and so close to the national park. Secondly, Lisa and her Husband Jeff are phenomenal hosts and you can tell they take excellent dedication and care into this space they call the elf cabin. The cabin itself is GORGEOUS it is so perfect for its size and surprisingly so so so so SOOO CLEAN especially for how rural it is located, you get the perfect package with a beautiful outdoor vibe as you sleep but the comfort of sleeping at home. There is a camp style kitchen with two plug in stove tops and a fully functioning bathroom with amazing running water. This places literally deserves awards, please you need to do this as if your life depended on it the price to reward ratio is ridiculous it was so much fun and so cozy!!

Perfect spot to explore the coast and Redwoods! We loved waking up to the sound of chirping birds while being cozy in the comforts of the cabin. Everything we could have needed was provided in advance in the cabin and Lisa was very communicative and helpful during our stay. We would recommend to anyone looking for a cozy basecamp near the coast and redwoods.

This was a very cute cabin. You fell asleep to bird noises, which felt like a movie moment for me. It’s also extremely cozy in it. The commute from the cabin to the city was very good. The hosts were really helpful. Overall an amazing experience staying here.

We loved our stay at elf cabin! It was much roomier than we imagined. It’s very cute and cozy. They did a great job putting the cabin back together and remodeling it. The bed was super comfortable. It’s nice to have all the amenities of a hotel suite, but be in the coastal forest. We made a fire in the fire pit and enjoyed the cool night. You can hear the ocean waves not too far in the distance. While there are neighbors relatively close, it felt very private. My only regret is that we did not get to meet Covey, but we arrived after dark! Perhaps next time, we’re most certainly planning to visit again!

Awesome cabin in a low key area with plenty to explore. I enjoy stopping in Trinidad as I travel through the north coast and the property was very quiet and perfect for a much needed getaway. Look forward to staying again sometime!
