Splitrock Farm and Retreat started in January 2021 after a global search of a place to set roots, live off the land, and create an amazing place for recreation, relaxation, and rejuvenation.
Splitrock was part of a 160-acre avocado farm that prospered from 1970 to 2017, generating over 1million pounds of avocados per year until the previous owners switched off the water in 2017. Ben purchased 101 acres in 2021 with plans to harvest the dead avocado trees for firewood and replant with organic, sustainable crops such as grapes, citrus trees, and flowers.
Splitrock's attraction comes from its unique groves, magnificent granite boulders, and sweeping vistas. Mixed within the avocado groves are several ancient groves and solitary trees that include 150+ foot tall pines, hundreds of old oaks, and soaring palms. Freckled throughout the hillsides are thousands of humongous granite boulders, offering a prehistoric feel to the landscape. Above all, Splitrock offers unrivaled views. Over 40 miles of coastline includes views to Point Loma, the Carlsbad power station, and the Pendleton Hospital. To the northeast are views of near 11K foot snowy peaks of San Jacinto and San Gorgonio, with rolling hills of De Luz and Fallbrook in the foreground.

Bridgeport Reservoir is a lake at the lower end of Bridgeport Valley in Mono County, California. Its earth-filled dam was constructed in 1923 by the Walker River Irrigation District, along the East Walker River. The campground and marina was built I-don't-know-how-long ago, but it sure is nice!
About Us: Welcome to Bridgeport Reservoir Marina and Campground. Join us for the classic camping and fishing experience with unique views of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. Within the Toiyabe National Forest, Bridgeport Reservoir Marina and Campground is conveniently located near two distinct hot spring areas. A true angler's paradise, the Reservoir has excellent trout fishing from spring through fall and is close by to multiple rivers for incredible fly fishing. A 35 minute drive on highway 120 will take you to the Tioga Pass Gate of Yosemite National Park. This gate is a great start to several different areas inside of the park that you may want to visit beyond that gate. Off-road enthusiasts would not have enough time in one visit to explore all of the 4x4 trails, abandoned mines, and sites in the area as well as the famous trail that brings you right to the Bodie Ghost Town.
Climate and Ecosystem: At 6,400 feet (1,950 meters), this high desert climate has little to moderate tree coverage and gets hot during the days and cool at night. The conditions are much like Joshua Tree National Park or Alabama Hills camping area. During your visit, you will notice many flying insects that resemble mosquitos. These Chironomid are harmless and do not bite. On the contrary, the mosquito presence is very minimal.
Swimming in the lake is possible usually between April to July.

We are a small privately owned campground ( on the outskirts of Placerville. The property features 86.5 secluded Tahoe like acres with beautiful year-round Weber Creek. The camp sites are placed along the creek or the bluff overlooking the creek. We have traditional dirt camping, canvas tents on platforms, teepees and glamping tents for those that want the comforts of home. We are tent camping only with only one site that allows a small travel trailer or van. (#14) . We are dog friendly and allow dogs in all but 5 glamping sites. We do enforce camp rules especially our quiet time between 10 PM and 7 AM
We’ve been told that we have a “family camp” vibe. We are a great place for families wanting a safe environment for their kids but also several group sites for those that want to hang out together with multiple families. We are also a great base site for those wilderness enthusiasts with access to all the El Dorado National Forest including Desolation but want a hot shower at the end of the day.
We have a lodge that is stocked with games and a ping pong table. The lodge has a microwave, Keurig machine and a hot water kettle for those hot drinks (BYO Cups).We have several tables set up for those that want to eat inside as well as multiple picnic tables along the side of the lodge with overhead protection. We have electricity at the at the lodge for small appliances and charging phones. We have a compressor on site to blow up your air mattresses or float toys. We’ve been told that our bathrooms are the “cleanest” ever and have changing tables and diaper pails. We offer nice flushing toilets and hot showers! We have many extra amenities including a compressor to use for your air mattresses,
For outdoor activities we have basketball, volleyball, pickleball and cornhole not to mention the playground with swing set . We have hiking trails throughout the property. Our highlight is a camp fire bowl with bench seating with a stage to display camper talent which is perfect for the evening fire and roasting s’mores (bring the fixings).
The creek starts out in spring looking like a rushing river featuring many fishing and swimming holes. As the summer progresses the water level falls but is still great for water play and fishing.
We have propane BBQs (we provide the propane for BBQs) located throughout the property. We also have a propane grill and charcoal BBQ located in the common area for all to use. There is a dutch oven pit also in the fire bowl area.
We do not allow wood fires at the individual sites but each site has a propane firepit for ambiance (not cooking) that requires you to purchase a 20 lb. propane cannister on site (add in extras) or pay cash on site.
No internet service. There is limited internet only available for purchases at the setore.
We require a 3 night minimum for the major holidays - Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day. We do exclusive events so you may need to explore multiple weekends to find the right reservation.
We are located in the foothills so we are a short hop to many local attractions that include river rafting, gold mines, wineries and historical towns with great eating establishments. Tahoe is less than an hour away and there a many hiking trails within 20-30 minutes.
We have a limited number of items to rent i.e, tents, cots, camp stoves, etc. We rent a battery pack for those that use a cpap. We also have a small store on site for those items you forgot and a good selection of ice cream and ice. We take venmo or cash.

The Feather River Hot Springs offers you a unique experience. We are located on State Highway 70 along the East Branch of the North Fork of the Feather River in the canyon. In the canyon there are many sights and sounds to enjoy. Nestled in between Highway 70 and the banks of the Feather River, are 5 tent sites and 5 RV sites, as well as 3 cabins available for your stay. All very close to the river. Overnight stays include the use of a natural sulphur hot springs beside the Feather River. It is small, accommodating six persons max at one time. Guests are able to book a private reservation for two or more for $120. Young children are not allowed in or at the Springs, must be teens and up. There is a sign up board for multiple shared soaks at check in cabin. The Springs are a short walk from the RV sites and camping. Swimsuits required, no glass containers, smoking or pets. There are three cabins that sleep max of two adults. Pets are not allowed. They are nonsmoking cabins. The cabins are very close to one another. There is a shared outdoor cooking area. Five tent sites of different sizes are all along the river. Five RV sites as well to accommodate from small trailers to 40’ . Please check accommodations size before booking. Pets are welcome in RV and camping areas but must be on a leash at all times. Limit one pet per site. Aggressive dogs or excessive barking is not permitted and you will be asked to leave. Pets are not allowed down at the tubs. Quiet time is from 10pm to 9am. Excessively loud music not allowed. This is a very small resort, a mutual respect for all guests and the property is a top priority. This has been my home for over 15 years, it’s not a facility. Campfires are allowed by request and are dependent on weather conditions. You must bring your own cut wood, no bigger than 24” or purchase wood here. Foraging for firewood is not allowed. Campfires cannot be left unattended. Quaint and rustic but often referred to as magical. Not just a stopover on your way to somewhere else but hopefully a destination that you will want to return to again and again. Spring, summer or fall there’s always something new to experience. Please note, the train tracks are right across the river, fascinating but noisy. The springs do smell strongly of sulphur

Hello all! If you're looking for some glamping with creature comforts, while just being 10 minutes away from restaurants. This is the place for you. We are a 5 acre property and home surrounded by tall redwood and oak trees. Very green and lots of shade. These are the amenities/facilities you will have free access to: Pool, Pool chairs and umbrellas, Deck area with sunset view, Trampolines, and hammocks.
There is not cooking allowed by or at any of the common areas, due to flies and critters. Cooking and eating is only allowed by your sites and not in any common areas: Hammocks, Trampolines, Pool Area, tables, sink, and deck please follow this rule because we want to prevent our shared areas to be fly and bug infested. We are still working on ridding the flies and cleaning. (please try to bring prepackaged food or something easy. If anything you can drive 10 minutes to nearby food and grocery). In the past we let people cook and eat around the pool but now our whole property is fly infested and I find scattered leftovers on the ground. Thanks for understanding.

This property is my home that I live in with my 2 kids. It is a rustic and homey vibe, definitely not a hotel. We want you to come knowing what to expect. Our property offers a pool, and trampolines for the kids. We have a deck patio area that overlooks an amazing view of the redwood forest. Most of our guests are those that come from foreign countries and they all LOVE the property. I love leaving a great impression of our area.

Only 25 minutes from Yosemite's entrance gate, come stay at stunning Red Tail Ranch and avoid the overcrowded big campgrounds. Use Red Tail Ranch as an ideal launching off point for Yosemite or stay on the property and enjoy all that it has to offer.
Red Tail Ranch is a beautiful 90 acre property in the Sierra Nevada foothills. Among the oak woodlands, meadows and coniferous forest, there are numerous trails to explore the property and direct riding access to a developed mountain biking area nearby. Great birding, botanizing and wildlife watching opportunities abound.
We have two RV sites with hookups, a five site drive-in campground, one walk-in campsite- all with clean, flush toilet bathrooms, hot outdoor showers, indoor camp kitchen and gathering space. The Barn Room is the newest addition to the campground- a climate controlled bedroom with its own bathroom/kitchette. Whether you're pitching a tent, parking a campervan, adventure rig/rv, or looking for a comfortable room, there are opportunities for everyone.
For large events, workshops or reunions, Red Tail Ranch can be rented out in its entirety- please reach out with any questions or how to do this. There is also a discount for stays longer than a week.
Amenities in the campground include hammocks, basketball, cornhole, darts and a ring toss game for all to enjoy.
We are 10 minutes from the small town of Groveland with a market and restaurants and just down the road from the put in for rafting on the Tuolumne river.
Our pricing is a little higher than other places nearby and this is due to the property's great locations, incredible beauty, and all of the amenities added for a great experience.
If wanting more information about Yosemite or the surroundings, host Robb Hirsch is a biologist and professional nature photographer with 25 years of experience in the area and has published two books on the park. He also is connected with all the local guides for any outdoor adventure referrals.

Loved our stay here, having booked the walk-in site it truly felt like wild camping. Saw deer most of the evenings and a lot of turkey vultures flying overhead. Spoke a bit with Robb, an absolutely amazing host and seeing his book has inspired me to up my game with nature photography :) would love to come back!

Weekend Trip to Red Tail Ranch at Yosemite
I absolutely loved my time at Red Tail Ranch. The different camping options made this venue a perfect gathering place for my group of RV campers, vanlifers, tent and car campers, and one very overwhelmed me who just started a new role and needed a no-lift hotel-style option. Enter the Barn Room and its sweetest little suite across the “hall”. We’d had this weekend on the calendar long before I landed in my new role, but I thought in recent weeks that getting away this weekend would be impossible. The Barn Room setup made it possible for me to not bail, come with the group, and have a truly restful experience (besides the 10+ mile climb in nearby Yosemite!). Shoutout Robb and the most patient cleaning staff, whose name I have forgotten. We appreciate y’all and can’t wait to come back!

Weekend Trip to Hideout Mountain Lodge
This spot was awesome! We stayed at campsite #16, it was at the end of the lot and was semi-private but because it was at the end and spacious it felt like our own private spot. Located a short walk from the bathroom/shower and came equipped with string lights, a picnic table, and an amazing view. Perfect for our little group of 4 but could have easily fit another couple and tent. Our dogs were able to be off leash at our site with plenty of room to play. Loved this spot and can’t wait to come back!

We loved our stay! This was truly one of the best camper experiences we’ve ever had. Robb was friendly and responsive. The land is just stunning and so peaceful. We visited over Memorial Day weekend, which was extremely busy in the park. It was so nice to escape the crowds and stay in this quiet campsite. The showers were nice and hot, and what’s better than showering under the Yosemite stars? Hookups for our camper worked great. The restrooms worked great. There’s a kitchen area to wash dishes. Our dogs enjoyed the “Dog Run,” a round pen where they could run around off-leash and stretch their legs. It was worth the drive to and from the park to stay at this location and we would love to stay here again in the future. Highly recommend!

We love camping at Josie’s hideout, the space was really big, but we did reserve both campsites at Josie’s hideout. The space might be a little bit awkward to share if somebody else was staying there since there’s two sites the showers in the bathrooms are right nearby, which is really nice. The restaurant right down the stairs is really cool. It’s a straight up biker bar. The food was really good and the drinks were good if you’re looking for peace and quiet during the day, this is not the spot for you because there’s live music most weekends I’m not sure about the week days. when we stayed there was very loud live music every day from 11 to 5ish which was kind of cool but also got a little bit old after a while. Overall, I would recommend this campsite and we had a great time.

We loved staying in the real teal camper! The bed in the camper was very comfortable and AC worked great. We had a nice fire in the fire pit and enjoyed the beautiful view. The site was well maintained and very clean. We would strongly recommend this host for your next trip to the Julian/Santa Ysabel area!

We recently stayed at Cabin #1 — The Bluebird's Nest — and it was an absolute gem of an experience from start to finish. Hideout Mountain Lodge is the kind of place that immediately feels like a home away from home.
Hosts Janice and Mike set the tone right from the start. They were warm, welcoming, and incredibly responsive — exactly the kind of hosts that make you feel like a valued guest rather than just another booking. It's clear they take real pride in what they've created here.
The cabin itself was wonderful, but what truly elevated our stay was the unexpected bonus of live music at Josie's Hideout Saloon. The band Gallivant was playing throughout our visit and they were fantastic — the perfect soundtrack to mountain life. It added such a fun, lively energy to the whole experience and was a delightful surprise we didn't see coming.
This place is a keeper. The setting, the hospitality, the atmosphere — it all comes together in a way that's hard to find. We will absolutely be coming back and can't recommend Hideout Mountain Lodge highly enough. Do yourself a favor and book a stay — you won't regret it!

Camping site was fun and a great location. There was bears so (BEWARE). No bear lockers aswell for food. It did have WiFi and electricity at the tent sites. Showers and bathrooms were nice. Also Yosemite valley is about 1 hour in total from the site. Overall 8/10

We loved our weekend at Feather Hot Springs campground. Rockel was very responsive and friendly. The full hookups made it an easy weekend in our rv. It's quiet, lots of trees and flowers, easy walk to the river for fishing, and lots to do in the area. The train tracks are right across the river and can be loud for a few minutes as they go by, but we also enjoyed watching them!

This was a super cool cabin. Lots of attention to detail with the motif for sure. Beautiful area as well. Would stay there again.
Had some difficulty with the wifi. I wasn't concerned as much, but the friend i was with figured out how to get it going. Someone not as tech-oriented might have had to call about that.
One thing to note about the setup also, is that the area with the main bed is pretty tight. This didn't bother me, but I could picture someone not as flexible taking issue with this.
