This place is amazing! The view from the Happy Hilltop Site is beautiful, and it feels very peaceful and quiet. The ranch has everything - including a shared kitchen area with a fridge, sink, and everything you need for cooking. Friendly dogs visited my site, and there were also goats, sheep, cats, and chickens around. I definitely recommend his place, especially for longer stays!

Family Camping Trip with animals

This is our first Hipcamp experience and it was a pleasantly unique one. We were greeted by the sweetest pack of dogs and our sites were clean and easy to find. Our group of 12 booked sites 3 & 4 to be close together. The hot shower & toilets were just a few mins away fr our sites. The camp hosts, Joel & Jessica, were very helpful and showed us around. The owner, Sean, communicated thru the website and answered all my questions in a timely manner. The kids (ages 6-17) loved visiting all the animals: feeding the goats, holding the kitties in the cathouse, petting the calm big dogs, hiking on the trails, playing at the obstacle course, & they really loved the zip line. There are trails on the property ranging fr easy to difficult. On our night walk to stargaze, there is a beautiful view fr the Hilltop site. Having the dogs around left a big impression as we’ve never had guard dogs at a campsite before. Even though there were times (late in the night) where there was a stretch of barking at something in the hills, it felt very comforting to know they were out there doing their job. It was interesting to hear them communicating to each other from end to end of the property and it was actually not a bother for any of us. It became almost like white noise to fall asleep to. We felt honored to have most of them hang out with us and at the end of the trip we were all saying “We miss the dogs!” So we definitely look forward to coming back and we recommend this place for families.

Loomerland is a great spot for kids and adults alike. The hosts are very accommodating, the amenities make camping easy, and the farm is beautiful. This trip was our family’s second time here and hopefully won’t be the last. I’d recommend it to anyone!

Site 1 was a great spot, very clean and easy to pull into. Only noteworthy thing was the acorns raining down on our van all night. Friendly dogs greeted us a few times throughout the night and in the morning. Pet some goats as well :)

Thanks Sean for letting us camp at your Ranch. Me and my girlfriend had a great time with all the amazing animals. We got to play with the dogs, feed the goats. We got a very nice spot to camp by the barn. Will be definitely planning a trip back soon! Thanks for being a wonderful host.

Camping at Loomerland is always special. We go regularly and we always love it. Our 7 year old adventurous kid is the biggest fan! The hosts are super nice and they will make sure you will have a great time at Loomerland.

This was our first Hipcamp booking and we loved Loomerland. We stayed in site #2 and it was perfect for our pop up camper. It was woodsy and fairly flat. The communal kitchen was a great bonus. We did the ranch experience and our kids were in heaven with all the animals roaming around. The dogs were so sweet and kept guard overnight. Sean was a great host and very responsive. Would 100% recommend and we will definitely return.

Our group loved tent camping at Loomer Land! Met with John, Greer, and Tyler who tend to the farm and they made us feel welcomed and comfortable. My grandson loved all seeing all the animals, especially the dogs. He had a great time hiking around the grounds, seeing the animals, playing on the obstacle course and the zip line. The sky was clear at night so we had a grand view of the Milky Way and stars. We had a great time and look forward to spending time here again in the future.

Camping with sweet guard dogs.

This place was perfect for what I was looking for, especially on a holiday weekend. The camping space and silence was just what I needed. The dogs that guard that entire area were the sweetest dogs ever and the animals at the farm are a great touch to this place. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to unplug, rest, relax and recharge.

Wonderful experience

This was a fantastic experience for myself and my wife. The location is beautiful with plenty of shade and trees for a hammock. Sean was great and all of his awesome dogs greeted us and hung out with us for most of the night. They were extremely friendly and love to be petted. We also petted the goats, who were very friendly, and saw peacocks, turkeys, chickens and roosters, cats and other animals. If you are an animal lover, this is the place for you! The area has a lot of amenities like a flushing toilet, showers, and a building that you can wash your dishes in and has small appliances for convenience, if needed. We were able to get some really great photos of the night sky where you could see tons of stars and see constellations very clearly. This was a very exciting part of our experience. All in all, we will definitely be back to visit soon. Super wonderful stay.

Very cool and spacious property. Was made to feel right at home even though we were only there for a single night. The animals were fun and entertaining. My daughter had an amazing time. Just be sure to bring your bug spray if it's that time of year.

We just returned from an amazing stay at this campsite, and we’re already talking about when we can come back. It’s the perfect place for families—calm, safe, and full of charm. One of the biggest highlights for us was the friendly resident dogs who greeted us with wagging tails and loved playing around the site. They were so adorable and added such a warm, homely feel to the whole experience. The farm animals were another favorite—feeding the goats, watching the chickens, and helping to feed them. It’s a wonderful hands-on way for kids to connect with nature. We loved the whole experience!

Our family had an incredible time at Loomer Land Campground! We loved every minute of our stay. The kids were thrilled to experience having pet dogs again, even if just for three days. They also enjoyed caring for the barn animals, with the bunnies being a particular favorite! Watering the vegetables in the greenhouse was a fun and educational activity that everyone enjoyed. John and John were extremely accommodating and attentive, checking on all the guests regularly to ensure we had everything we needed. The staff truly made us feel welcome and cared for throughout our visit. We especially loved the personalities of Willow, Warner, Bonnie, Sami, and Sophia—they made our experience even more special. We’re already looking forward to our next visit and will happily recommend Loomer Land Campground to friends and family. It’s a wonderful place for families to connect with nature and create lasting memories!

this was an amazing experience! last minute booking for a birthday trip and my friends and i adored this property. getting to wake up to our guard dogs, a guard cat if we were lucky, and checking out the barn animals was an amazing addition to our adventure. we will be coming back :) in other words our site was perfect for us and it was only a thirty minute drive to julian for the wineries. thank you sean! we loved every bit of your property!

Warm Hosts and Wonderful Animals

Warner's Place

We had an amazing time staying in the Warner teepee! From the moment we arrived, everyone was incredibly welcoming — both the humans and the animals. The dogs made sure we felt right at home, greeting us warmly and even escorting us around the property like true hosts. One of the highlights was getting to spend time with all the animals. We loved seeing the feedings up close — it felt like we were part of the rhythm of the land. The staff and other campers were all so friendly and kind, creating a truly open and welcoming space. We spent our mornings birdwatching and soaking in the peaceful sounds of nature, and our nights felt cozy and safe thanks to the dogs, who take their job of protecting the property seriously. Their barks at night weren’t disruptive — in fact, they were comforting. It was like they were saying, “We’ve got this.” The only small drawback was the presence of some red ants near the teepee. As long as you’re mindful of where you step or place your belongings, it’s totally manageable and didn’t take away from the experience at all. This was a beautiful place to reset and reconnect with nature. We can’t wait to come back

2 - Peaceful Dancing Oaks RV Spot

Essentially the site was accurate per the listing. It's a cool little spot off the beaten path, down in a valley. The RV spots are bunched near the entry. Most of the slots are big enough for the units in the description but I would ask ahead if you have slide outs. We tent camped in a 11x17 tent with a pop up canopy and we had plenty of space in slot 5. This was my first summer camp in California and perhaps this was season/location specific but it was buggy. The second buggiest camp I had been in my 20+ years of camping experience. Between the black flies and mosquitoes we chose to spend most of the peak daytime hours away from camp. All that being said, that's the outdoors for you. So come prepared! The last thing I'll mention is the dogs. They were wonderful and I was happy to have them around. Most nights they slept near us in our campsite. Yes, they bark but its good to know that they are there watching out backs.
