· Jamul, San Diego, California
160 acres hosted by Steve W.
160 acres of wild and private land at the top of a mountain. Bouldering, exploring, outdoor cold water shower, well drinking water, and pergola! 45 minutes from downtown San Diego and beaches but a whole different world! A single camp spot on the top of a mountain surrounded by 160 acres of no one else! Requires 4WD/high clearance AWD road to camp spot. Plenty of shade at spot with picnic area that is covered. Drinking water, sink and outdoor cold water shower. Bouldering (climbing), fire pit (seasonal), covered deck, hiking and VIEWS!  Plenty of room and separate camp spots- lock the gate and you will have no visitors or onlookers. Single outdoor flush toilet with sink.  We provide a Propane stove - 2 burner, propane, toilet paper, dish soap and hand soap.  No COTS. Guests love it here "This was finally checked off of my saved list—my partner and I rented a 4x4 to get up there since our 2WD car wouldn't have made it in one piece. It was only a short drive from downtown San Diego and was super easy to navigate. Once we arrived the experience was TRULY MAGICAL. We had such an awesome experience exploring the property, birdwatching, hiking and some light climbing. Don't forget to check out the cave! The facilities were beyond expectations and we had a seamless experience. Steve was super accommodating and was great at communicating—he even gave us a small tour of the property! The sunsets and sunrises here were something out of a dream, we wish we could wake up every morning here. We will definitely be coming back soon!"

Camping in the clouds
It was truly such an amazing experience. The kids explored all day and night, we kept a close eye because we didn't want them to slip/trip on any of the boulders as they climbed and played . My husband and I were in constant awe of how Steve and his family made this place happen! Truly appreciated all their hard work and did not take anything for granted. We respected their grounds as if it were our own home! Steve is not messing around when he says you need a high clearance AWD vehicle to get up that road (it was our boys first off-road experience and they LOVED it). And we loved the fall weather we got to enjoy, clouds add to the beauty of the sunset and we even got to stand in the clouds as they wisped by. Memories that will last a lifetime! Thank you to Steve and his family!

Incredible Weekend :)
A quick trip to the mountain from San Diego making time away feel longer than it actually was! Ahhh :) so relaxing… The site was hard to leave with its spectacular views from all sides, exploration land and convenient set up including a kitchen sink, stove & bathroom with running water! Steve was helpful , friendly and responded immediately. Smooth trip. Happy people and pups! We’ll be back for sure.

Impressive Campsite
Very impressive campsite, deck and bunker. The outdoor shower and restroom had the most beautiful views. Open land for hiking, climbing, and exploring. Watch out for wildlife. The best view of night stars! The water pool, solar lighting, and humble sleeping loft were a plus. Thank you for an awesome experience Steve 😊

Too good to share
Didn’t really want to give a review of this amazing place because honestly I don’t want it to be booked up the next time I want to go. Incredible vistas, nice hikes and rock, scrambling… And Steve has created some incredible platforms, a bridge, and just some wonders. Resulting from great engineering.
