You should see how the animals flock to TJ. The ranch also has goats, pigs, chickens, dogs and cats. It gets very cold at night but the star filled skies are breathtaking. This time during our stay we had 3 kitty visitors and 3 dogs that rolled up to our camp multiple times, it felt like they were checking up on us. It was so cute. The sweet Aussie poked his head in our tent to say "you good?" haha It was so cute and they were extremely friendly and social! The black kitten stayed at our camp all night and cuddled on our laps by the fire. It was such a lovely experience. TJ and her crew have done an amazing job with this place, I don't have enough words to explain. Just see for yourself! You'll love it!! Can't wait to visit again!"

We purchased Namaste Farms in 1997 when I was showing reined cowhorses as well as raising thoroughbred racehorses. In 2005, I purchased my first wool sheep and fell in love. Today, Namaste Farms is recognized around the globe for raising high quality wool producing sheep. While sheep are the primary animals at Namaste Farms, there are countless other animals, both four legged and feathered!NOTE: Namaste Farms is a true working farm with copious amounts of sheep, goats, chickens, peafowl, and countless other animals. Along with those, we have free range squirrels, rabbits, flies, dust and yes, even free range spiders. If you're wanting a rustic experience that gives you a break from city life and you can handle dust, dirt, cobwebs (and these can happen over night inside your cottage and WILL be in the common areas), with sounds of animals vocalizing at all hours of the day and night, then Namaste Farms is a perfect fit for you. Know, you're supporting a 501c3 charity and all the revenue goes to support the animals.This booking is for the Treehouse, and while it's only 1/2 a mile from the city limits, it has a rural feel and is centrally located to all wineries and most of the major equestrian facilities including Galway Downs, Green Acres, and California Ranch Company. For those who are coming to Temecula for horse shows, we also have a large barn with bedded stalls and turnouts (for an additional fee). There are designated horse trails right outside our gates which will even take you to Galway Downs and California Ranch Company. If you're into golf, you can enjoy Temecula's 7 PGA golf courses or Pechanga Casino which are also within a short driving distance to the farm. If horses or golf isn't your thing, you can visit Temecula Valley wineries which are all ~ 1/2-3.8 miles of the cottage gates. The wineries are not within walking distance of each other, UBER is only too happy to come here and pick you up! If you're not interested in any activities and simply want a "staycation," you can hang out here where you're welcomed to walk around the farm and interact with the animals. Since their passing, the Stables have been managed by their son Scott Tynan. Our stables offer a clean and quiet place for horse owners to board their precious companions - short or long term - or to serve as a weekend getaway for a person or group of friends/riders. Each Boarding Corral has walking space, shaded corners, automated water feeders, soft dirt, partially sheltered sides and is in close proximity to a round pen, a small arena (turnout) and is encompassed by a small walking track. No two corrals are close enough to each other for the horses to interact, reducing the likelyhood of mishap from a neighbor. Each Weekender Corral comes equipped with the same as the above, excepting only the partially sheltered side panels, and are right next to where you will be parking your trailer or camper. 4 nights at San Diego Canyon Creek

Calm and comfortable, this site is equidistant to many wonderful lakes, hikes, and adventures. It has all the amenities to make it glamping instead of camping. The host is wonderful and friendly, and offers suggestions for hikes, trips, and seeing the morning hawks or the evening bats at the camp. Dogs are welcome, and there is even a cabin if you just can’t stand a tent. Can’t wait to return.

Weekend Trip to Thundering Hawk Retreat

We booked this trip on a last minute whim and the host was very responsive through text. Upon arrival Daniel greeted us and showed us to our campsite. He made sure we had everything we needed and the site was to our liking. He even came back once night fell and made sure we were set. He made sure to tell us about all of the other amenities they have available if needed. (Lamps, propane tanks, fresh sheets, etc.) 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking to camp. We can’t wait to come back! (Give Daniel a raise he’s the best 😂)

The glamping site on Ken’s land was A M A Z I N G. Picturesque views from the eagle’s nest cabin with great amenities and beautiful cabin and outdoor bathroom. 10/10 recommend - I WILL be coming back. P.S thanks for bringing me first aid items when I needed them!

Loved this spot. So cool to be around all the horses. It is a working farm so expect there to be animals and noises, but I thought that’s what made this stay unique. The landscape is beautiful as well and the host is super friendly and easy to talk to! Definitely would go back!

Really appreciated my stay on Jeff's property! Had originally booked a different site with someone else that didn't work out and needed to find another spot asap, Jeff was super responsive and welcoming even though it was super last minute (literally like I booked it driving and was there in an hour 😂). The site itself was easy to find and accessible and it was super awesome to have access to a water tank and the extra table and chairs and even hammocks if you felt like setting them up! Even though it's accessible from the road and there was some minor scattered cars during the mid mornings mostly, I felt very secluded and it truly does have an amazing view of the stars with no light pollution. Would definitely rebook for a future escape from all the hullabaloo of the city. Also he noted some awesome nearby trails including Eagle Rock (part of the PCT) which looks amazing and definitely want to hit up when my knee is feeling up to it! Thanks to Jeff for a great experience!

I had a wonderful stay at the casita—it’s a super cool, spacious, and bright cabin with tons of charm and privacy. The twinkling lights, fire pit, hammocks, shaded seating areas, and even a disco ball made the outdoor space feel magical. The professional community kitchen was fully stocked with everything I needed, and the plumbing, sinks, and unique outdoor shower were clean and convenient. The large property is incredibly dog-friendly, and the host was warm and welcoming. The only downsides were the midday heat, which made it tough to stay cool, and a few too many flies and ants—but overall, it was a truly special and memorable stay!

Weekend Trip to Campo Nopalito

My 6 yo son and I had a mommy-son Glamping trip and we couldn’t have had a better time. Jacob was an amazing host and the property was lovely. We slept well in the Roadrunner A-frame, made full use of the pizza oven and amply supplied kitchen, enjoyed the outdoor shower, and lounged around all day in the hammocks. Gertie the dog was a big hit with my son and I as well. We will definitely be coming back, can’t recommend highly enough.

The place was amazing. I do wish the tent sites were further into the park so the noise from the road wasn’t there (more nature) but the place and the people who work there were all amazing. The cabins looked extremely nice. Will try that next time. Nice cold water to swim in. Things to rent. The Hawaiian ice woman April was a real treat. Overall lots to do with your kids. Will go again.

Weekend Trip to Magical Harrison Serenity Ranch

A lovely stay! We had a pretty good site and they had porta potties and flush toilets so that's a bonus. Enjoyed learning more about the property, it's history, and it's potential from Vicki. The daily pig visits and watching fireworks from the casino were highlights for sure! Come prepared for mosquitoes, tho.

San Diego county has wine tasting, breweries, theaters and eateries of all kinds. There are several beaches, mountain lakes, and even the deserts! You can skydive, or scuba dive, go deep sea fishing, or lake fishing, mountain biking, hiking, climbing, or walking the boardwalk! SAN DIEGO CANYON CREEK is a SMALL PATCH of WOODS, NEAR a ROAD, in a NEIGHBORHOOD. In the midst of the trees we have a great view of the stars at night. Harbison Canyon is surrounded by rocky peaks, with a CREEK! We have multiple species of song birds, owls, hawks, and other wildlife that live in this Riparian Habitat. There is a chorus of frogs throughout the spring nights, and crickets year round! It's a very short walk to the neighborhood park- equipped with several types of playground equipment and public creek access, or a five minute drive to a Crestridge Ecological Reserve containing multiple trails. We have three campsites and a cabin on about an acre of land. If you'd like to hang out on the property, we offer a table and chairs with each campsite to lounge in while enjoying the fresh air and nature. There are also a couple of hammocks available. In addition, our SHARED amenities include an outdoor kitchen that includes a sink with hot water, 2 mini fridges,(full at times, extra coolers available) coffee maker, a two burner stove, a griddle, a toaster oven, blender, tea kettle, and a few pans, plates, bowls, cups, and utensils. Also here to SHARE is a Propane fire pit and BBQ area. The bathroom now includes a flush toilet, sink and shower. We are continuously making improvements. Fun Fact: Harbison Canyon was named after John Stewart Harbison - aka the King of the Bee Keepers. He arrived with over one hundred colonies of bees in 1874 and within 7 years he became the world's largest honey producer! Today there are just a few bees in the area.

Nopalito Farm has been in operation since late 2014, but the property itself has been a working farm for over 50 years. Lemons and avocados were the primary crops from the 70’s through the 00’s, and are still prominent throughout our 15 acres. Our predecessors then diversified the growing operation by planting a wide range of fruit trees ranging from guavas and passion fruit to peaches and figs. For a decade, hops were grown on 2 acres and were sold to breweries throughout southern California. We’ve since replaced the hop yard with perennial flowers, but continue to cultivate a wide variety of delicious fruits.

Hikers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders can explore over 100 miles of trails, including a summit trail to the 6,512-foot Cuyamaca Peak. Boating and fishing on Lake Cuyamaca are other popular pastimes at Cuyamaca, a popular camping destination offering sites for tents, RVs, and cabin campers. Part of the greater Cleveland National Forest, Cuyamaca Rancho State Park borders Anza-Borrego Desert State Park.

When to go

Thanks to its elevation, Cuyamaca Rancho State Park’s mild summers offer a reprieve from sweltering SoCal temps. Summer highs are generally in the mid-80s, while winter lows in the 30s can bring snow and locals for sledding and snowshoeing. Spring is the best time to come for waterfall viewing.

Know before you go

Lake Cuyamaca has a restaurant, store, and tackle shop. Boat and kayak rentals are available.
Wildlife watching is popular—keep an eye peeled for woodpeckers, red tail hawks, Pacific tree frogs, rattlesnakes, foxes, bobcats, and mountain lions.
Although Cuyamaca Rancho State Park has cooler temps than other SoCal areas in lower elevations, the sun is strong and it’s important to bring sun protection and hydrate.
Most park campsites are pet-friendly and feature picnic tables, fire rings, restrooms, and shower access. Individual campsites do not have RV hookups, but dump stations are available.

Stayed here for two nights. Pretty basic campground with some nice trees. For local San Diego camping it was decent. The area we were in was very smokey and dusty. We had a tough time with the air as the wind wasn't blowing. Once we drove over to the lake it was much nicer. Campground itself is fine if you aren't sensitive to smoke.

We love Cuyamaca in the spring. Always stay at Paso Picacho and visit Green Valley during the day. The short hike to the creek is great and lots of fun to cool off in the water, but staying at Green Valley looks rough. Not much shade and out in the open. Paso, on the other hand, is much woodsier. Bathrooms are well maintained. Bring quarters. Sites range from amazing (secluded and just the right balance of shade and sun) to barren squirrel infested wasteland. The sites get renumbered pretty often, so it's a bit of a coin toss. Still, we go every year. Good for kids and they're not too strict about noise- as we prefer.
