Anson is a folk and blues musician and has traveled all around the U.S. playing his music and I work for a children's book company. One day, we decided that we wanted to live the rest of our lives hosting live music, and events and that's how Rock & Tree began. As the idea grew, we wanted to create an Open Canvas so that the guest could dream up what they wanted on our stage. We moved to the Inland Empire from Santa Monica, in 2017 with the dream of building an open canvas event space out of sustainable, re purposed and natural materials. Our mission is help enrich the culture of Perris, CA by providing a unique venue that takes you away from the hustle and bustle and takes you to a wonderland of nature surrounded by rocks and eucalyptus trees. Anson and I continue to build everything ourselves with the help of our friends and family every now and again. Our process is that we source as much lumber using the dead Eucalyptus trees we have here on the 36 acre property and we are constantly trying to come up with innovative ways to use recycled and donated materials in the venue. During the pandemic, we turned our venue into a campground so we could open up the venue to people who needed to get out into nature. We are now open for daily camping and private events. Weekend Trip to Zephyr Mountain Avocado Grove

I absolutely loved this campsite! I have never used hip camp and had a great experience here! I camp often and my friend who never had in her life wanted to try it out. I thought this was a good time to try Hipcamp. Somewhere not to far from LA, and that would make her feel safe and comfortable! This place succeeded in that! The deck was so amazing and we did not even need to bring chairs or a small table if we didn't want to! The toilet worked great, and I loved the view points! We did get to walk around a bit and see the animals which was so sweet. I cannot wait to go back anytime I need a quick little getaway! You do for sure need 4WD or AWD because it can be super bumpy and curvy. High clearance may be helpful since it is very bumpy but the road is narrow as you do the last 5-10 min up to the site.

What an incredible stay!! The lake view is gorgeous and the set-up was perfect. Caleb was so nice and welcoming and completely open to us putting on our weird little burner-style event. We set up a themed bar and a small sound stage and he was fine with us DJing late at night (within reason). It ended up getting pretty cold one of the nights so Caleb brought us a propane heater which was so generous. Definitely plan for wind! Luckily there are a lot of different areas in the campground, so when it got really windy at the top, we just moved the party to the amphitheater for a bit where it was calm. Really fun spot. We'll be back!

Great spot right next to the water. My granddaughter caught a good sized fish. We saw tons of turkey vultures and fish jumping in the lake. Only part that i wish could have been better was the wind and cold in the mid -late afternoon that just doesn't stop. Couldn't spend as much time outdoors.

I really enjoyed staying over in OAK GROVE area ITS was very clean. The bathrooms were nice. The shower was a little different because of the wind it wasn’t enjoyable however it was done! We went on a small hike soon as sunrise. It was beautiful. We were able to enjoy it was perfect weather to hike. as we were hiking, we visited some furry little buddies farm living which was nice.. I was able to get perfect reception too!!! The overall trip was nice when we return we are going to look into camping in other areas overlooking the mountains…

First time staying here and it will be the first of many. Easy to navigate, clean and other respectful campers. The goats and Pedro the alpaca were wonderful to be around. I paid for the Saturday animal encounter, but we didn’t make it in time due to an accident on the freeway. We also paid for late check out and it was absolutely worth it to enjoy the morning. My kids already asked when we were coming back.

I loved car camping at the oak grove communal area!! Communal stone table, campfire spot, sink, showers and bathrooms were so awesome! We live in Oceanside and just wanted a quick camping getaway so this was perfect! I loved the goats and how safe I felt knowing Benjamin was on property as well. 100% reccomend

1 night at Splitrock Farm and Retreat

This is a great local getaway place to escape the hustle & bustle of SoCal. It is easy to get to and just far enough away from the highways & freeways to not hear the constant noise. Unfortunately it is located near Camp Pendleton so when they are training on the gun range, you can hear the machine gun fire in the distance. Thankfully they were not bombing while I was camping. I stayed on top of the hill at the Tabernacle and the views are spectacular. I could see the Santa Rosa Plateau in all its glory. There is a free roaming herd of goats who where very fun to have come by my campsite. The quiet at night was priceless. I had the best night of sleep I’ve had in years. I only stayed one night - just a quick getaway and the morning was a beautiful misty morning. Great wildlife viewing too - squirrels, rabbits, woodpecker, CA Towhees, Quail, Granite Lizards and plenty of brown snails. The Tabernacle at the top of the hill is on slightly rutted dirt roads so I do not suggest staying there if you have a low clearance vehicle. I went up in my Sienna with 8” of clearance and had no problems.

It was so special to spend the day at the beach and the evening in the hills. So grateful to spend time at Morro Hills -- easy to find, simple, quiet, and beautiful as far as the eye can see. Orange Peel was perfect for a one night stay and I would definitely stay here again.

About

Spread out over roughly 30 acres in the Orange County community of Newport Beach, Corona del Mar State Beach is a popular spot for swimming, surfing, diving, and sunbathing, particularly in the summer months. It features a half-mile of sandy shores and views out over the sea, plus easy access to nearby Inspiration Point, a popular spot for watching the sunset. Although a day-use beach with no overnight camping, Corona del Mar is also a popular spot to catch grunion fish, which come on to the beaches to spawn during high tide in what Southern Californians know as a "grunion run."

When to go

Corona del Mar is a year-round destination, with warm summers ideal for swimming and cooler—but rarely cold—winters that tend to get a touch of rain. The warmest period of the year is from July through early October, and September is a particularly ideal time to avoid big summer crowds. Grunion runs take place in March and from June to September during three to four nights around the new and full moons.

Know before you go

There are 16 wood-burning fire rings at the beach and eight charcoal rings. All are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Portable barbecues are not allowed.
Dogs are allowed at the beach before 10 am or after 4:30 pm, but must remain on leashes at all times.
Wheelchair users can get to the beach via the main access road, near the corner of Iris Street and Ocean Boulevard. There’s also a loaner beach wheelchair available from the lifeguard station at the base of the pier. Four of the fire rings at the beach are ADA accessible.
