I can’t say enough amazing things about our stay! I chose Skyline Mountain to host 20 people to celebrate my 30th birthday party. Caleb was an absolutely incredible host from the moment I inquired to our final departure from the site. He was very personable and professional, communicated with us promptly, and accommodated all of our needs before and during the stay.
The site truly comes alive at night and has such a gorgeous view.
We were honored that Caleb and his neighbors invited us to be guests at their own renegade held the same night and we had the most magical time. They had a beautiful setup with colorful lights, a very talented DJ, a trampoline, and a fun swing. He doesn’t normally offer this, but I think it’s something he’s hoping to offer in the future. Caleb allowed us to play music throughout the night at a reasonable level too.
Our stay exceeded our expectations and we could not have had a better time! I will absolutely come back and I highly recommend staying here!
A couple notes to make your stay comfortable and safe:
The hill up is a bit steep and dirt road. Small sedans made it up but it was a little nerve racking.
Make sure you bring a source of shade to stay cool during the day.
We loved tent camping at Skyline Mtn for the July 4th weekend! We had a spectacular view of Lake Elsinore fireworks, the entire Temecula valley, all the way out even to the Lake Arrowhead fireworks and San Gorgonio Mtn (the highest in SoCal).
Caleb was super responsive and hospitable, and was there to greet us and make sure we knew how to navigate up the mountain. The road up to the site is a bit steep and rocky but our little Toyota Corolla was able to make it up - just make sure to go while it's still light out. The propane fire pit we were able to rent was perfect during the fire ban as well. Would also suggest cots or camping pads if tent camping since the ground is pretty hard.
We had a blast camping here, and it's perfect for both a small group of 4 (like ours) or a much bigger group. We'll definitely be back!
The campsite offers beautiful views and plenty of privacy. We were the only group there, which made it feel peaceful and secluded. The host was responsive and helpful when we had questions.
However, the last mile of road to the campsite was extremely rough and steep. It was challenging for regular vehicles and may cause concern for drivers who are worried about vehicle clearance or potential wear and tear. We recommend arriving during daylight and using caution on the final approach.
The campsite itself is fairly basic with limited amenities, but the scenery and privacy make up for it if you enjoy a rustic camping experience.
What an incredible stay!! The lake view is gorgeous and the set-up was perfect. Caleb was so nice and welcoming and completely open to us putting on our weird little burner-style event. We set up a themed bar and a small sound stage and he was fine with us DJing late at night (within reason). It ended up getting pretty cold one of the nights so Caleb brought us a propane heater which was so generous. Definitely plan for wind! Luckily there are a lot of different areas in the campground, so when it got really windy at the top, we just moved the party to the amphitheater for a bit where it was calm. Really fun spot. We'll be back!

Brought our Trail Life troop here for a weekend campout — couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The views are stunning, especially at night under the stars. Caleb was an amazing host: responsive, accommodating, and genuinely cared about making our stay great. Plenty of room for our group, the amphitheater was perfect for our gatherings, and the boys had an unforgettable time. Highly recommend. We’ll be back!
This is a great spot tucked away up in the hills. There is a lot of room to spread out the camp sites and set up different activities. It had everything we needed for a group camping trip. You can’t beat the views from the deck overlooking the lake/city. Caleb is an awesome and friendly host, very accommodating for our trip. Make sure to maintain a little speed going up the dirt hill.
Overall good experience, this place has an amazing view, but has an empty trailer parked right in the middle of it. Lights were a nice touch, but only half of the strings worked. Weeds haven’t been trimmed in quite some time as well.
Great stay at Skyline Mountain! The host was super friendly, communicative, and flexible, which made everything easy from start to finish.
The space was perfect for our group of 11 — tons of room to spread out, plenty of parking, and very well set up. Clean porta-potty, running water, string lights, tables, benches, and a bar platform were all ready when we arrived. The amphitheater stage was a highlight and a great place to hang out and enjoy the views.
Would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it for group camping.

Had a great time celebrating my 30th birthday here. Our hosts were very friendly and hospitable. I appreciated having a clean porta potty, running water and a well lit area already set up for us. Amazing views as well. Definitely would come back!
Such a cool sight with just the right amount of amenities to make for a great casual camping experience. The road up is no joke and you got to be unafraid to get up a dirt road that goes up quickly, but our cars could do it, even when we came in at night. Caleb was great and communicative and we will definitley coming back for the next time do our retreat, the amphitheater so well positioned and the town at night was beautiful to look at. Great sunrises and sunsets too!

Caleb couldn't have been nicer and we really enjoyed our time camping on his property. We camped during a heat wave, but the views are breathtaking and it was fun roaming around. He was very hospitable when we arrived.
Had a beyond amazing time here with my Art Collective. If you are looking for a memorable time, this is your spot. Caleb was super responsive and accommodating.
We had such a great time camping here for my Bday! Easy to get to, and it is just as described but it’s actually even better than the photos because the view is just so amazing!!! I wish we had stayed for a few more nights! I reccomend everyone to come prepared for a fun adventure! And bring a spare of clothes for cold and hot weather because the temperature always changes in California. Caleb was such a great host and we can’t wait to come back again sometime!

Camping on Caleb’s land was hands down one of the best camping experiences we have ever had. Although it rained he was very accommodating. The land was beautiful and room for plenty of tents and people
Caleb's property was great for our group of about 25 people! It had plenty of space and an awesome view of the city below. Caleb was super communicative and would check-in throughout to make sure all was going okay. We had a blast and I'm looking forward to seeing how the property looks after he continues to add additional features. Would definitely recommend and would stay there again!
I'm going to go out and say Skyline Mountain is the best hipcamp site in Southern California for large groups looking to have a good time. We had a group of close to 20 for my 30th birthday and we had an absolute blast. We set up DJ decks on the stage and used it as a dance floor, and went pretty much all night long. You can't blast the music but if you keep it at a reasonable volume there's not really anyone too close by. Caleb is an awesome host and a good guy, he came down and joined us for a bit and we were happy to have him. We'll definitely be coming back for future bdays, can't recommend this place enough

Caleb was FANTASTIC with communication and he is a very accommodating host. The neighbors helped and they’re all great people. They made us feel welcome. LOTS of improvement is needed though. The place felt like was in the middle of construction zone. It totally needs some shade; it needs love and attention. The views are great; the deck was fantastic. Just a little more time and energy from the hosts and this place would be AMAZING. Once the improvements are in place we’ll def consider staying there again.
Know that because of the elevation the wind picks up a bit in the pm (or maybe it was just during our stay)

Caleb is a very relaxed host. Our group has always struggled to find camping spots that accomodate our needs, and this site was perfect!
The biggest draws for us were the view (gorgeous!) and the relative seclusion - noise restrictions are very minimal.
We went in November, and it was pretty cold (fire ban means no campfires!) - but we kept warm with propane fire pits and heaters. In the warmer months the consistent wind would be nice and refreshing.
Caleb is constantly improving the infrastructure on-site, so this place is only going to get better as time goes on!

I’ve stayed at this site twice now. The views are amazing and Caleb is an awesome host!
The road up is a bit steep but I made it up in my Honda Civic. It wasn’t a problem for our group. Well worth it!

Amazing campground, spacious with panoramic views and a cool bar area and a deck at the bottom which gives views on nearly every size. Nice to have an outlet up there, too. Caleb was a great host!

Fantastic weekend at Skyline Mountain. We had 40 campers celebrating a 40th birthday where each attendee taught the group something. The venue was perfect--camping and partying up top with the classes at the amphitheater. Caleb was a great host and helped us through whatever came up. The views were incredible and everyone had a wonderful time!

I spent my 30th birthday weekend here and could not have asked for a better weekend. What an amazing location with two great hosts, Hansen and Caleb. Through the messaging feature of the app, Hansen was a very quick responder to any questions and concerns that we had. He also offered for us to check out the location prior to our booking but because of his responsiveness through messaging it was unnecessary. Hansen was also very reasonable with accommodating our guest counts. Caleb was an amazing host who greeted us at the location. Upon arrival, he gave us a detailed rundown and idea of how to set up camp and our sound equipment. Additionally, he was super responsive and always picked up his phone to answer any questions that we had.
Our group likes to throw music/DJ events and we had no issues with noise. You have to be respectful of some of their neighbors, but they are fairly far away from the campsite. You have to turn down/off the subwoofer by 10pm-12am but we seemed to not have too many issues with noise and still enjoyed ourselves well into the night with music.
The view was amazing and the amphitheater was a bonus area to enjoy the view and play a sunset set. My friends and I loved everything about our stay and we cannot wait to book another weekend stay in the future!
Hansen's spot was awesome and he was a very accommodating host. It was so nice to have electricity, running water, a toilet, and trash bins on site. He also provides lots of tables and fold out chairs, and set up the gas firepit for us with two big tanks of propane. The views were absolutely stunning and the weather all weekend was ideal. It got a bit hot during the day but there's a decent amount of shade provided. Perfect place to celebrate my birthday and our group had an amazing time! Thank you so much Hansen!!
