This is an incredibly historic site in Santa Barbara history. 2 tribes of Chumash Indians lived here for 10,000 years. This is where Spain landed and began colonizing the area. In the 1950's and 60's, this was the site of the World's largest orchid farm. There is a book called The Royal Rancho, if you are a history buff. We are a farm on the beach just North of Santa Barbara and Goleta, Ca. You will camp in a historic, glass greenhouse with incredible ocean views. Inside is a cob pizza oven that works awesome. (Bring your own firewood),,, a place to pitch tents and tiny artistic structures to explore. You will have a private bath and shower (Primitive, no electricity, but the hot shower has the best view in the world of any shower!) Bring your own toiletries and whatnot. Private beach access from our property. We have a barnyard with a multitude of farm animals. Limited electricity in greenhouse (A couple of extension chords). The fire ban is ONLY for open campfires. The pizza oven and YOUR bbq or propane flame is fine. If you are camping during the rain, be advised, it gets wet in the greenhouse. It's an antique after all!

We are a small farm on a 1 acre gated property that has two RV spots and a bar shed. We have full hookups in both sites. Our town is rural but it's still close to HWY 101. We do live on the property, close enough if you need anything but far enough for privacy. We host happy hour for campers who are interested. Although the hours depend on arrival and our availability. We have a common area between the two sites that offered a nice fire pit. Our farm has 3 goats, 2 pot bellied pigs and 20 chickens that lay fresh eggs daily. We LOVE animals but we CANNOT ALLOW PETS. Also, sorry no tent camping. RV's only. We do not provide bathrooms or showers on site. Don’t have an RV? RENT OURS! We have everything you need for your family. Enjoy a weekend on the farm and glamp in our RV. We have all the amenities of home. Coming to enjoy the area? The property is just a few mins off the 101 freeway on the Central Coast. We are only 15 mins South of Pismo Beach, 30 mins south of San Luis Obispo and an hour North of Santa Barbara. The beach, wineries and shopping are all very close. Or if you are looking for a quiet retreat with some super sweet farm animals stay here and enjoy the farm. We absolutely loved our stay at Hazel Homestead! Ann was such a warm, welcoming, and thoughtful host from start to finish. She was so accommodating and understanding with our check-in and check-out times, and we genuinely loved getting to chat with her and learn about all the animals. One of our favorite parts was feeding them carrots together — such a fun and special experience! The space was beautiful, peaceful, private, and so thoughtfully designed. It is gated which is a nice added security feature. The two spots are sitting in the front of the property, with a large privacy hedge separating the main house. We especially loved the cozy fire pit area and barn bar, and having the whole space to ourselves made it feel even more relaxing. Slow mornings with the free-range chickens, beautiful weather, and the quiet atmosphere made this stay feel truly refreshing. We loved that the location was 15 mins from Santa Maria and 30 mins from San Luis Obispo airport. Ann also checked in throughout our stay to make sure everything was perfect, which we really appreciated. Thank you again, Ann, for such a memorable and lovely stay — we can’t wait to come back!

Left my heart at this camp. It was serene, with beautiful views and quiet. Perfect getaway from the city life but close enough to shops/dining to pickup last minute things. I visited during the week (Wed-Friday), and for the most part, it was private. However, if you are hoping to have more of a "romantic" stay, I would choose elsewhere. It looks/sounds as though someone lives in one of the nearby greenhouses (right across), and we also saw several staff members throughout our stay, so it wasn't entirely private as we had hoped, considering it wasn't a weekend. Still, I will be back, and this time with my family. Suggestion- shower at night without the lights on- starry night :)

I cannot say enough amazing things about this place. Darin is the nicest guy ever and super passionate about what him and Sierra have created, it’s really inspiring. He gave us the coolest tour of the property when we got there. We loveddddd his squad of dogs and cuddling with them by the fire. We were so sad we were only staying one night — we will definitely come back and stay longer. Make sure you hike up to the deck, absolutely GORGEOUS views 💞 Can’t recommend this place enough, it’s really really special.

This is a gem in the New Cuyama area. Ultra comfortable beds, all the aspects you would need for your kitchen, clean bathrooms, hammocks, glamping to its finest! They are fabulous hosts, chickens, goats, stars and a great get away to a slow down your soul! FIVE stars!

Weekend Trip to Canvas Under the Oaks

We absolutely loved our stay here and can’t say enough about this space. Everything was created with so much care and attention to detail. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and we loved falling asleep surrounded by the forest. The amenities were clean and thoughtfully set up with plenty of hot water and a space that felt easy to settle into. Although we didn’t cook here, the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you may need to make a delicious meal. We also enjoyed the books that were left for guests to read. Shirley and Matt were incredibly kind and welcoming. They were there to help with anything we needed, even assisting us with bringing our things in, which made the experience feel even more personal and cared for. Thank you both!

Weekend Trip to Freedog Farms @ Cactus Flower Ranch

Freedom Farms is an incredible place. It’s so peaceful, beautiful, and inviting. The campsites are spread out and very comfortable (propane fire pits put out a ton of heat). Darin and Sierra are the best hosts imaginable - it’s no surprise they built such a great place. We will be back for sure.
