Slide Ranch is a nonprofit organization established in 1970, becoming one of the first Park Partners in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.
Slide Ranch is located on the Marin coast, on land that has a rich history in connecting people to food. The Coast Miwok once fished and foraged for food at this site, and in the late 19th century Portuguese dairy farmers purchased the land and produced milk and butter for residents of San Francisco. In 1969, 134 acres of this fertile coastline were rescued from commercial development. Slide Ranch camping fees directly fund scholarships for youth programs throughout the year.
Slide Ranch is an unpaved ranch environment. Our trails and garden paths all consist of uneven, sloping terrain, often muddy or soft ground during the winter season, and may be challenging to access for visitors with significant mobility restrictions.
Minors aged 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
No pets allowed; service animals are permitted.
We do not have showering facilities or flush toilets. Water in all Slide Ranch taps is potable for refilling water bottles/jugs. Soap is provided for hand washing.
Slide Ranch does not have any concessions on site. Camping is not supported by the on-site staff. Per current GGNRA regulations, campfires and open flames of any kind are not allowed.

Primitive sites are back-to-basics: no hookups, no structures, no potable water. There is non-potable water available for washing—please bring your own drinking water. A shared composting toilet is available to all campers. Winds can be strong in spring and summer, but sites are placed on the leeward side for protection. Fires are permitted when conditions allow—check with us on arrival.
We’re just 10 minutes from Tomales, 15 from Valley Ford, and 3.5 miles from Dillon Beach. Bring a kayak or canoe and paddle from camp to the Pacific via the Estero.
Primitive and RV Sites with sweeping views of West Marin pastureland at True Grass Farms, a working ranch along the Estero San Antonio. Our campsites are well spaced for privacy and quiet, surrounded by birdsong, grazing animals, and the rhythms of ranch life.
Each primitive site overlooks the Estero and is near a mowed grass road for easy access. It’s peaceful here at night—other campers may be nearby, but you’ll feel immersed in nature.

Finley Camp is nestled along Finley Creek in West Sonoma County. Campsites are located in open flats surrounded by Coast Doug Fir, Alder, and California Bay forests. Each campsite has a picnic table and fire pit with cooking grate, and access to a porta potty and hand washing station. The campsites are located past the end of the county road allowing for a quiet peaceful experience. Enjoy a quiet stroll on site, the surrounding communities of Bodega, Bodega Bay, Valley Ford, and Tomales, or just enjoy a quiet day in camp. Our sites are located approximately 20 minutes from Bodega Bay. The campsites are 2.5 miles from the coast and the weather can be unpredictable. As a general rule, it is very similar to that of San Francisco.
All camp sites are situated in a valley that offers protection from the coastal winds. The have both morning and evening shade. Sites #2, #6, #7, and #11 have the most space, while sites #4, #7, #8, #9 and #11 offer the most privacy. Sites 1-3, any combination of 5-7, and 12-13 are well suited for groups. Other site groupings work well depending on the number of sites being reserved. Site #8 is unique in that it has a wood deck/platform for tents. There are also NO wood fires allowed at site #8 as it is under the tree canopy. A propane firepit is provided for your use. You can bring a 5 gallon propane tank from home, or a full one is available for rent on site.
Well behaved dogs are welcome at Finley Camp. All dogs must be kept on leash at all times while on the property. There are no exceptions to this. Finley Camp is located on an active cattle ranch and directly adjacent to a neighboring ranch with cattle.
Also be sure to check out our orchard tours! The apples are ripe now and our verities will continue to ripen thru late November. We'll take you to our family orchard where you can pick apples, pears, or blueberries in season and taste yummy treats out of our family garden.

Located within 45 minutes of the wine country and 2 miles from the coast, our property is 400 acres of rolling hills and redwood groves, with a creek running along its base. With miles of trails meandering through quiet woods and meadows, you will be able to revel in the tranquility of a private preserve, without sacrificing easy access to some of Sonoma County's most famous attractions. A hundred years ago, this land was used to graze sheep. Remnants of the old fence lines can still be seen in places, along with old cement troughs. Since then, the land has been left to its own devices, passing through many hands, most famously owned by two brothers in the 1980's who built a truly amazing tree house in the forest which has been featured in several magazine articles. It was revamped and updated in 2016 by a master craftsman, using fallen redwood logs found on the property and is now a unique structural work of art, available for overnight stays. We produce 100% grass fed, dry-aged beef on our certified organic pastures and have a store on site if you would like to purchase delicious steaks, ribs, ground beef for hamburgers or some roasts to take home. Our cattle graze on the native grasses, never grain, and drink only water produced from our own springs. We also raise Kiko meat goats and produce pastured, certified organic duck eggs on a commercial basis. Whether it's surfing at sandy beaches, award-winning clam chowder, a wine tour, horseback riding or a hot air balloon ride you're after, you won't have far to drive if you make our ranch your base camp. You may see a family of deer appear suddenly, or a few Scottish Highland cows which we allow to roam freely over the property. There are over twenty species of wild birds that grace this protected spot, so bring your binoculars! A portion of your fee goes towards protecting native flora and fauna as part of our private wildlife preservation program. A limited number of private, widely spaced camp spots are available for visitors. The Eagles' Nest Treehouse (mentioned above) is very isolated and you may or may not even be aware that there are other people within miles of you. This 60 acre property is located approximately 3 miles east of San Gregorio Beach in the San Gregorio area. There is no home here, only a travel trailer on the Upper Meadow. It is very peaceful, quiet and beautiful throughout the seasons.
We are 5 minutes away from the San Gregorio General Store and cafe and 20 minutes from Alice's Restaurant. We have great cell coverage for Verizon, AT&T and Visible. Experience shows that T-Mobile does not work here and I don't know about the other internet providers.
There are four campsites, each with easy 4WD access. Two of the sites offer total isolation with amazing views while the third site, while in a nice setting, is more useful for a quick overnight stay with no views of the ocean or canyon. Please note that five easy-going cows (no bulls) reside on this property.
** Dear winter and spring campers, please consider using "Sensible Weather" for your trip protection in the event of heavy rain or even high temperatures in the summer and fall. I have not used this insurance feature but the description on Google makes it look worth considering:

The Meadow Grove is a wild and natural pasture with campsites located near the historic Narrow Gauge Railroad bed on a family owned working ranch in coastal Northern California. The camp sites are nestled in a pasture and grove of mixed Eucalyptus, willow and cypress trees. The sites are perfect for tents or camper vans, or small trailers. [When we open in the spring, the grass can be 'slippery' and it is recommended you have 4WD. Around mid-June it is dried out enough for 2WD access to all sites]. Not suitable for RVs
It is also, managed and operated by a single mother. Please keep this in mind.
Notes about the campsites are: They each come with a picnic table. The grounds are a working ranch, so there is variations of the soil- some lumps and bumps and general natural state of a pasture v. a groomed lawn. Site #1, #2, #3, and #4 have the most level areas for parking and tent-ing.
Up until mid-June, we recommend #1 for 2WD access. Campervans that do not have 4WD may have trouble accessing other sites. Please remember this when you book!
*Campers who "change sites" without written approval by the host will be charged double!*
There is a composting camp toilet, we do not have running water at the campground.
The ranch itself is 300 acres of rolling hills pasture, with hilltop views of the Estero Americano valley. The Meadow Grove is home to many varieties of raptors and other birds-providing excellent bird watching. Seasonally there are blackberries to fill your containers, and some hiking. We are mere minutes from the quaint towns of Valley Ford, Tomales, and Dillon Beach, and a short drive from Bodega, Bodega Bay or Marshall, Pt. Reyes Station and Inverness. Nearby attractions include: Sonoma Coast beaches, Pt. Reyes National Seashore, coastal hiking trails, local farm-to-table eateries.
Inland attractions include: redwoods, wine tasting, Russian River activities and so much more.
The ranch borders Hwy 1, so there is some degree of road noise. Traffic usually dies down mid afternoon, and isn't too much of a disturbance. Virtually all traffic on our stretch of road is daytime traffic. There can be however, some heavy weekend traffic during the day with car clubs and motorcycle riders enjoying the coastal highway.

The property is located east of Occidental in a unique "banana belt" along the USDA 9a/9b climate zones, inside the "Green Valley" Sonoma wine appellation, on a quintessential country lane.
Originally settled and farmed in the early 1900's by a family of Italian immigrants, from who the lane is named.
One acre is our family compound, two acres are forest preserve, and the other two acres are the orchard - where the Hipcamp sites have been integrated.
The orchard has many different fruit trees including heritage Gravenstein apples that were originally planted by the family from Italy. The apples are ripe from late July to late October. The orchard borders a forest with old growth Redwoods, Douglas Fir, Bay Laurel, Oaks, and Madrone. Some wildlife passes through the orchard, especially birds.
The location offers access to a charming walk on a beautiful country lane and many hikes nearby that we can recommend. We highly encourage visiting for the Spring bloom in April and May for a temperate tropical experience.
A two minute drive to Occidental, and a twenty minute drive to the beaches of the Sonoma Coast and the Russian River. A great location to explore and enjoy nearby small towns, wineries, dairies, hiking, bicyling, surfing, kayaking, and farmers markets... or just relax at the site, make a picnic, and bask in the tranquility...

We have four lovely Glamping sites at Sugarloaf Ridge State Park and 25 miles of hiking trails, nestled in the glorious chaparral of the Mayacama Mountain Range and Sonoma Hills, deep in the heart of wine country. The cost is $150 per night on weekends (Fri and Sat) and $125 per night on weekdays (Sun-Thurs). There is a 2-night minimum stay required between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
In our family-friendly campground, our tents are 16-Foot Canvas and come with one queen-size bed, two futon lounge chairs (May be converted to twin beds), rugs, tables, lighting, and complementary firewood the first night. At no additional cost, we can add up to two twin beds to each tent upon request to sleep up to 6 people. 8 people max allowed at the campsite.
The glamping sites include a picnic table, fire ring, outdoor seating, and room for additional tents if desired. All sites are easy walking distance to flush toilets and a bathhouse, with large, clean, coin operated hot shower rooms. There is no cell service in the park, but free WiFi is available at the Visitor Center.
PLEASE NOTE that Bedding (sheets, pillows, blankets) IS NOT included in a standard rental, but is available as an add-on. Guests are encouraged to bring their own bedding whenever possible. If no bedding is added, we will assume a one-queen setup with mattress covers only. We kindly ask guests to provide at least 48-hour notice if bedding will be required. We will always try to accommodate last-minute requests, but we cannot guarantee this.
PETS and SMOKING ARE NOT ALLOWED INSIDE our glamping tents! This is strictly enforced, and you WILL be charged a $150 cleaning fee for any violation of this policy.
Parking: Your reservation includes parking for one vehicle. There is an additional $10 per night per vehicle charge for more than one vehicle, which you can pay for at the Visitor's Center upon check-in.

We are conveniently located off of US 101, therefore there may be some freeway noise, during commute hours especially. It has become like white noise to me, but it is only fair to mention it.
We offer full hookups which consists of 50 amp & 110 volt electrical outlets, potable water, sewage dump. We also have one pigtail available (with a refundable deposit) if needed to convert 50 amp to 30 amp. We also have one place in the middle of our big vineyards with a 30 amp and water only. No sewer.
Our sites are located one mile from Healdsburg plaza, the heart of Sonoma County Wine Country. Our town offers amazing wineries, fantastic restaurants, and quaint shops. It is an excellent place for wine lovers. There is a pre-prohibition winery right across the road called Foppiano. There are many other fabulous wineries are nearby. Ask the host for discount passes or complimentary tasting cards for some of the local wineries.
We are in an excellent location for outdoor adventurers. There are plenty of hiking trails near by as well as bike rental shops for those who enjoy trekking, and even a couple of rafting places right here on the Russian River.
We are close to places like Armstrong Woods, Safari West, Getaway Adventures, The Sonoma County Fairgrounds which hosts the Summer Country Concerts among other events, Harmony Festival, Santa Rosa Full Camp; Half Marathons Camp; 5K, Sonoma Zip-line Adventures, and Much More!

Welcome to our land in the beautiful wilderness of upper Calistoga. Our land is a nature experience, with some development of trails and amenities, at our family land just 10 minutes outside of Calistoga, with wineries, spas, and restaurants. The hilltop (where Coral Cabin is located) has electricity and wifi, and is a common area for all campers; . The main house and deck is not part of the hipcamp; the tenants are a nice family and caretakers of the land, but not the host.
Our sites are no frills, cute and rustic, and “user responsible” meaning the price includes basic “leave no trace”cleaning guidelines. Because of this, communication with Dan is super important to ensure expectations are clear for you and us, our land is respected, and you have a great time!
Rules for all sites, read before you book!
1. We provide trash bags and ask that you take all trash and recycling to the bottom of the driveway, in the 'hipcamp' trash bin provided (smaller grey bin by mailbox).
2. We have a compost toilet system designed by a graduate of the Occidental Ecology Center permaculture course. It has pros and cons, but when operated correctly, it is a good system: All you gotta do is add mulch (which is any dried leaves or grass), on top of your own biz and it begins to break down waste immediately, including smell. If in doubt, add more mulch; you can find it in a bin by the toilet or gather a handful at time of service. Or: There are also nice coffee shops in town:)
3. The nature of our land being wild, there are no wood fires allowed. We have propane fire pits, and ask guests to use extreme caution with bug candles or smoking anything.
We currently have 3 campsites. Please see descriptions for each campsite access and services available. *The Hilltop/Coral Cabin has the most access, Wi-Fi, cooking appliances, and the best views. Each campsite has a gas camping stove and compost toilet.
You will see lots of wildlife! Beautiful birds song every morning, little lizards everywhere, turkeys, a toad here and there! You can hike the extent of our 34 acres on fire roads that lead to the top of the Whaleback Ridge, seen in the distance from all camps. That would be an epic sunset hike!

Camping here is flexible, depending on the type of setup you have. I aim to create a community atmosphere, so privacy is limited. If you prefer more space and no nearby neighbors, I recommend booking both sites.
This is a simple, peaceful spot nestled among forests and vineyards—great for bikes, dogs, and beautiful walks. We’re also just 5 minutes from town and close to local tasting rooms.
I’ve done my best to accommodate a range of needs, so if you have any special requests or expectations, please feel free to reach out. Your stay will help shape and improve the experience for future guests. I grew up in this area and am happy to point you toward great restaurants, hikes, and local spots—whatever you’re looking for.
Please note: this is a construction site, and some of the owner’s equipment may be present. No work will take place while campers are on-site, but the surroundings may feel a bit rough or unfinished to some. For safety reasons, this is not an ideal setting for young children to roam freely.

Welcome to Honey Island — the only private island inside the Russian River, and one of the most unique camping experiences in all of California Wine Country, Redwoods and Russian River.
Wade across to your own island sanctuary surrounded by the living Russian River. By Memorial Day the crossing is typically knee-deep. By August? Barely your ankles. Getting a little wet is half the adventure.
The Island
Honey Island is a true bird sanctuary. Eagles, hawks, owls, herons, and ducks nest near here. Coho salmon, bass, and trout swim the channels on both sides. Sea otters make regular appearances. This is nature at its most alive — and it’s all yours for the night or week.
Set up camp in the heart of the island with space for 4 tents. Swimming holes on both sides of the river range from knee-deep wading to over your head in early summer — perfect for floating, swimming, and just being in the water all day.
The Property
For larger groups (15+) additional tent space is available on the Great Lawn Annex on the main property — just across the small channel, close to amenities.
Amenities include:

Best Visited: May through September. The island is most accessible and the river most swimmable during summer months.
What to Bring:
Tent, sleeping bag/pad, water shoes, cooler, headlamp, biodegradable soap, and pack-out bags for your trash. This is a pack-in, pack-out property — leave only footprints.
A note on the vibe:
This is a place for families, solo, couples, and friend groups who want to unplug and reconnect with nature. Think Tom Sawyer floating a raft downriver — not a festival. We want you to have a great time; just keep it mellow and respectful of the wildlife.
One group at a time, always. Parking is limited to a small number of vehicles — please confirm before bringing more than 5 cars.
Sorry, NO PETS, of any kind on the property (we have resident wildlife to protect and our own shy pup, Miles Dewey Davis, on site). Thank you for understanding.

Breathe deep in nature on our 10-acre property on Kings Mountain, California hillside. Our generously sized Safari-style tents offer a unique blend of comfort and adventure. Each tent has beds, down comforters, crisp cotton linens, lights, and more. Outdoor and indoor furniture and little touches that will make your stay unique.
The property is located 30min from SFO, 40min from San Francisco, 30min from Palo Alto, 20 min from Half Moon Bay.
Each tent is perched on a sturdy wooden platform and features a fully furnished deck, providing a cozy space to relax and soak in the breathtaking ocean (Half Moon Bay views) and forest views (Kings Mountain).
All tents include a mini fridge and a stove, ideal for light cooking, intimate fireside storytelling, and warmth during cool days.
We suggest you bring easy-to-prep food, drinks, warm clothes, hiking shoes, and a beanie, as it can get chilly without notice. Your designated parking space is a 6-minute walk from the campsite (downhill on arrival, then back uphill (steep) in the forest), so we recommend traveling light.
Our campsite is nestled within the same property as our charming little farm.
Our goats roam the land all day and may visit you for pets and nuzzles. They are gentle, but please do not feed or let them inside the tent.
Recharge from the day with a hot shower. Grab your fresh towels from your tent and go to your outdoor allocated bathhouses, where you’ll find an indoor shower and well-appointed restrooms. They are nicely lit and stocked with bath products.
A sink area is available for dish clean-up, a bbq/picnic area, fire pit & cedar wood hot tub (to be booked separately).
KM is famous for its hiking and biking trails nestled amongst the redwoods. The closest is a 15-minute walk from our campsite, and others are within a 15-minute car ride.
Tent 01 (180sqft) accommodates 3 people in a queen-size bed and a daybed.
Tent 02 (210sqft) accommodates 4 people: two in a queen-size bed and two in a bunk bed and an outdoor suspended net
Tent 03 (210sqft) accommodates 4 people: two in a queen-size bed and two in a twin bed + daybed and an outdoor propane stove, hangout deck

We recently stayed at Jim and Amy’s glamping property, and it was an absolute dream. From start to finish, the entire experience was flawless.
The Vibe & Views:
If you are looking for that authentic, peaceful ranch vibe, this is it. Positioned beautifully in Livermore, the property offers some of the most breathtaking sunrise and sunset views you could ever ask for. Watching the sun dip below the hills in the evening and waking up to the morning glow over the ranch was incredibly peaceful and a total highlight of our trip.
The Glamping Domes:
The accommodation itself is top-notch. The glamping domes are beautifully designed, immaculate, and offer the perfect blend of modern comfort and a unique outdoor experience. They are cozy, spacious, and provide a fantastic front-row seat to the surrounding nature without sacrificing any luxury.
The Hosts:
Jim and Amy are phenomenal hosts. Communication was seamless right from the beginning. They were proactive, incredibly welcoming, and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay while perfectly respecting our privacy.
We absolutely loved our time here and cannot recommend Jim and Amy’s place enough. We will definitely be back!

We stayed at site #2 in a class B camper an and it was great. Has water available and electrical hookup. The best thing was it was super peaceful. Very little road noise as it’s off a minor road off a minor road. Still very easy to get to. Site #3 is the most private but a sites 2 and 1 look good too. Nestled among or hard trees it was very pleasant.

It was a great experience, we had one of the best nights ,we really enjoyed the sunset and the sunrise in the morning ,it was windy and a little bit cold at night, but if you bring some extra clothes jackets you are going to have a great experience , up there is water, 2 bathrooms with toilets,1 shower, an outdoor kitchen,some grills and there is electricity in the domes, bathrooms and kitchen, there is even a microwave and a small refrigerator in the domes

We had a lovely time staying at the farm. Each site has its own picnic tables and there is shared kitchen sink, kitchen prep space, dining area, and restroom (bathroom and shower). The site is very communal so you will get to know your neighbors, but that is certainly part of its charm. The farm animas are adorable to watch. Only FYI is that if you are brining a dog there are foxtails and ticks. Would come back again.

We loved camping at Slide Ranch! The views - both when foggy and sunny - are amazing. The ranch and surrounding trails were a lot of fun to explore. Some of the goats let us pet them which was great. Beyond the ranch animals, we saw a lot of wildlife - pelicans, hawks, chipmunks, deer, lizards, and most amazingly, a pod of humpback whales! Bring binoculars to better catch the whales breaching. We would happily come back.

The views from this campsite where amazing. My son and I were able to pitch our tent close enough to the edge of the campsite that we were able to view the ocean from inside the tent. While there were other campers everyone was able to space their tents far enough apart to still feel private. We were able to hike down to explore the tide pools and hike all the way up to the Muir Beach Overlook all on the same day. Mt. Tamalpais is also just a short drive away which was nice.
Outside of the initial messages and directions, there was no contact with the host. This wasn't an issue though because the directions and instructions were clear both in the messages and on signage when you get to the property. Some of the other campers there were friendly and also helped provide some direction as necessary. We didn't get a chance to use the stove in the Dome because we had brought cold lunches but when we went in to store our stuff a young couple had just cooked a meal that smelled delicious. (so it was clear the stove worked)
On one of the nights it was extremely windy so be prepared with some type of ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. The following night was totally quiet so it really just depends on the day.

We stayed in the badgers den and it was a wonderful and peaceful experience. Both Emily and Guido were so accommodating and friendly. It was the perfect getaway with our small family being surrounded by nature and animals. We purchased eggs and beef from their little farm shop which we highly recommend.

Very cool spot, open pasture and felt safe while having privacy. Love the setup of their campsites, we stayed at Goose nest which is furthest out of five spots. Lots of space to spread our camp out and everything was very clean and user friendly. The owners little store is really neat also, we brought in all our own food but if we went again I'd get meat and eggs from them to cook out with. We brought SUP boards but the waterway was low and filled with grass so couldn’t do much there, I’m guessing thats very seasonally oriented so if you’re wanting to canoe/kayak/PD i’d ask owner how the water level is. Town store 10 minutes away if you forget anything. Beaches 20+ min drive. Night time audio very nice: mostly cows, dogs, birds, crickets, wind… very seldom hear anything human :)
