Wildhaven Sonoma is the top-rated glamping spot in the Bay Area. Our glamping experience was designed to provide guests with comfort, warmth, and cleanliness, while still maintaining a close connection to Sonoma County’s stunning natural beauty. Guests check in to extra-large, safari-style tents or cozy cabins, both with comfortable beds (with linens and heated mattress pads), electricity and heaters, WiFi, and all the furnishings needed for a memorable night outdoors. Outside, guests have a personal fire pit, a covered porch with patio furniture, and a large picnic table. Those seeking a tent with more comfort and features can book our Riverside tents with 2-person hammocks, festive string lights, and improved nature views, just a few steps from the Russian River. Then there are the amenities, which are not typically found at traditional campgrounds. These include a clean, central bathroom building, hot showers, an outdoor kitchen with dish-washing sinks and gas BBQs, a store with local treats, and summer activities such as yoga classes, wine tastings, and live music. The highlight of the 10-acre property is the private river access for guests. Wildhaven’s section of the Russian River is calm yet clean and perfect for innertubes from May-Oct. Wildhaven is surrounded by vineyards on 3 sides and is in the middle of the famous Alexander Valley wine-growing region. When it's time to venture out, Wildhaven is just 5 miles from the charming small town of Healdsburg, with its picture-perfect town plaza filled with palm and redwood trees and surrounded by 30+ tasting rooms, book and cooking stores, and ice cream shops. The PREMIUM - 2 QUEEN is a longer tent that allows us to add a 2nd queen-sized bed and provide additional capacity. The 2nd bed can be used for: • Families: 1-2 children can share the second bed, versus adding 1-2 cots with the 1-Queen tents and bringing your own sleeping bag. Fire code prohibits cots or other mattresses from being added, guests from sleeping on the floor, or extra guests. The STANDARD-BUNK BED tent was designed for larger families where up to 4 children can each sleep in their own bed. Glamping at Wildhaven was a wonderful experience! The campgrounds were well maintained with all the amenities you could ask for - clean toilets, showers, cooking area, etc. We would definitely stay here again!

Tent - Standard Bunk Beds

Our family loved playing the river and the tent was well appointed and comfortable. The bathrooms and kitchen area were very clean. It’s also nice being close enough to a good coffee shop and take out if you don’t want to cook at camp! Our kids can’t wait to come back.

Tent - Riverside 1 Queen

Wild Haven was a really nice set up. Lot's of creature comforts. The bed was very comfortable and cozy. Loved being able to have a campfire and make smores, loved laying in the hammock, loved the free coffee bar on Saturday morning. The bathrooms were clean and the showers were nice. The one down side to the place I'd say is having to hear traffic instead of just nature. Otherwise it was a really nice place for a quick get away.

The tent was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The person in the camp store was very friendly and helpful. Overall, wonderful experience despite the fact that it was cold and threatening rain the whole time we were there. Would definitely go back!

Excellent campground! Stayed in one of the cabins and it was darling. Stayed toasty and warm during the entire winter evening. Excellent, clean facilities and hot showers. The check-in process is detailed and straightforward and I would definitely return!

Tent - Riverside 1 Queen

First time stay, and it was a great experience. The booking was for a riverside tent, and we had a nice space, the bed was warm and the cot was useful. The fire pit and hammock were nice to have. Everything was clean! The shared toilets and showers were really clean and accessible. Access to the river was convenient and the river is shallow with areas that reach 4-5 feet, the speed is quick and you can relax and let the river carry you. The staff was friendly and helpful. Thanks and we will visit again!

I was not prepared for how close to the road the campsite was (my fault for not google map searching). The car noise was very loud. Even with the provided ear plugs they have in the tent. We were there on a Monday, which meant the campsite was nearly empty. Which was great. On a busy weekend I imagine it is very loud and busy. All of the sites are very close together. But if you want some nature and don't want to drive far from the Bay Area it is fine. We booked a site close to the river. But sadly, there are no actual river views. You look out over the campsite road and trees. Bathrooms are good for glamping and the bed was comfortable. The tent was decent. We have stayed in better quality glamping sites. I think the price reflects how close to the Bay Area it is. It could be better for the cost. But overall it could be worse.

Wildhaven is an awesome glampground right on the river in beautiful Alexander Valley. Even though it was rainy while I was there, the tents were cozy and there was a beautiful rainbow right over the campground! The staff was super friendly. Note the water onsite should probably be filtered before drinking (I was informed) or there is water for purchase onsite.

Loved the idea of glamping and fit so well into our weekend plans. The tent and staff were fantastic. Unfortunately, there was so much rain, we could get down to the river trails. Love the quiet time after 10pm and the fact that we could bring the dogs. The showers and bathroom were very close and immaculate. Would go again, in a less rainy time.

Tent - Premium 1 Queen

We typically do camping the old school way but thought we would treat ourselves for New Years and try glamping, and we were thoroughly impressed! Wildhaven had everything you could possibly need, even free coffee in the morning! The tents are spacious and the bed was super comfortable. Also great location on a river that’s not accessible to the public - we’ll have to come back in summer to enjoy it more. Would highly recommend to anyone!

Cool little spot. Very accessible if you aren’t a camper. Facilities were clean and staff were super helpful. It says it in the description but the tents are fairly close together but everyone was quiet by 10.

Poured down rain and couldn't have been more happy or cozy in my warm tent with a heated mattress reading a book and watching movies. Absolutely lovely. Not thrilled having to walk a distance to use the bathroom in the dark but that is the only inconvenience the whole trip.

Above and beyond expectations. Accommodations were comfortable and beautiful. Showers, bathrooms, kitchen sinks and barbecues were clean and maintained. The free coffee and hot coco in the morning was a nice surprise!

My husband and I stayed on a Thursday night and had almost the whole campground to ourselves. The riverside campgrounds we’re nice because they’re furthest from the road and have no tents in front, but they are the furthest from the bathrooms if you’re a night time pee-er. The store is very cute and stocked with S’mores kits, sausages (no buns), frozen burritos, Tonkotsu Ramen, ice cream, dog treats, and other local small bites like cookies and chips. We loved that we could roll into camp with our dog with zero prep and have a lovely time. We will definitely stay again when we need a night or two away from home

The camping service was very good. We had a great time and the staff was kind. The only disappointing thing is that it's close to the highway, so it can sometimes make a lot of noise when trailers pass by.

I love spending the day kayaking down the Russian River. It’s relaxing and like a lazy river much of the time. The safari tents are warm, relaxing and have full beds. They have all the basics and a little more including a coat rack and end tables..decorated with small succulents. We’ve also spent the day in wine country.. there’s several different types of vineyards in the area. Nearby Healdsburg has tons of great food options if you want to head into town for dinner, drink or take-out. When the bars are open, a few have live music nights every week.

Overall we enjoyed our experience. It’s a great area, in a nice location, with all of the amenities. Most of the staff are very nice and helpful. The only complaint we really had was on a few different occasions we would be sitting in our tent, by the fire, or trying to relax on the patio, and one of the employees that was cleaning the other tents nearby was blasting her Right Wing political podcast extremely loud, with obviously no headphones. It got to the point where we left for the day, hoping when we came back she’d be done. And the next day it happened again. It didn’t ruin our experience, but we thought it was very strange, and rude. But like I said previously, we were able to put that aside and enjoy our time for the most part. If that didn’t happen, I’d probably be giving 4 or 5 stars.

This was a lovely getaway from city life. The bathrooms, showers, and tents were all very clean. We loved being so close to the river for fishing and picnics. The cute store had the extras we needing including ice and s’mores and wine and sometimes the treat of freshly brewed coffee thanks to the friendly and helpful host. Plus you’re super close to downtown healdsburg and 30 min away from a bunch of great wineries. We will definitely come again 😀

There were so many wonderful experiences my wife and I had at Willdhaven. We loved the spacious, clean tents, the really comfortable beds, the beautiful swimming hole, the views of wine country, the proximity to Healdsburg. In addition, the staff went above and beyond to ensure that everyone had the best visit possible. And the free, delicious coffee every morning was icing on the cake.

Would rate this a 5 star. Loved our stay, very well maintained. Clean showers and restrooms. Very nice tent and fire pits for all. After 10 it's a quite zone so no late night fun. If you book river facing tents you'll also get heated beds for cooler nights. Highly recommend this place.
