The Grove (5 total) campsites are located near the historic Narrow Gauge Railroad bed on a family owned working ranch in coastal Northern California. The camp sites are nestled in a pasture and grove of mixed Eucalyptus, willow and cypress trees. The sites are perfect for tents or camper vans, or small trailers. There are no hook-ups for RVs (the access to the camp sites also prohibits long vehicles). There is access to a composting camp toilet. The ranch itself is 300 acres of rolling hills pasture, with hilltop views of the Estero Americano valley. The Grove is home to many varieties of raptors and other birds-providing excellent bird watching. Seasonally there are blackberries to fill your containers, and some hiking. The sites are subject to some road noise, as we are right on Hwy 1. We are mere minutes from the quaint towns of Valley Ford, Tomales, and Dillon Beach, and a short drive from Bodega, Bodega Bay or Marshall, Pt. Reyes Station and Inverness. Nearby attractions include: Sonoma Coast beaches, Pt. Reyes National Seashore, coastal hiking trails, local farm-to-table eateries. Inland attractions include: redwoods, wine tasting, Russian River activities and so much more. Specifics about these campsites are: They each come with a picnic table (#1,#2, has a checkerboard painted on it-bring checkers or chess!)The grounds are a working ranch, so there is variations of the soil- some lumps and bumps and general natural state of a pasture v. a groomed lawn. There are certainly level places for tents and camper vans or trailers. The ranch borders Hwy 1, so there is some degree of road noise. Traffic usually dies down mid afternoon, and isn't too much of a disturbance. There can be however, some heavy weekend traffic during the day with car clubs and motorcycle riders enjoying the coastal highway. Site 3 - The Meadow Grove

West coast wonder.

Great camp, loved all the eucalyptus trees. Make sure to visit Valley Ford nearby, very cool little store, cafe, and surf shop.

Tilty but beautiful

As explained by the campsite owners, Boots is the bestest kitty there is. Give him some fresh water and he will love you. Very sweet man! The site was a bit less flat for tent camping or car camping than expected. Nothing outrageous, just maybe bring some extra blankets and pillows to prop yourself up against the tilted ground. Usually I'm not one for seasonal allergies, coming from Sonoma County that says a lot. But it must have been a combination of all the pasture grassland that had my asthma and allergies on high level. So if you go in summer, perhaps bring your allergy meds and inhaler. Sadly, I didn't get to go up hiking to see the cows due to my allergies. But it was a peaceful spot, perfect for a little camera action 📸

Beautiful and peaceful meadow

Secluded pastoral and quiet. Sites are far enough apart to provide privacy. Such a beautiful setting. The cedar chips in the outhouse Are a Great touch!

Site 2 - The Meadow Grove

Love this place. We stayed here a couple of years ago and nice to come back again. Love how it is not a huge pain to find and simple camping set up with a clean bathroom. The trees on the property are lovely. Thank you !

Site 1 - The Meadow Grove

Very easy! Perfect for what we needed. Simple space for car camping, plus even had an outdoor toilet. It was great for the couple nights we needed a place to sleep. Loved being on the coast too! Much cooler than inland. Perfect camping spot to park at and bring all your own amenities.

Site 4 of The Meadow Grove

This was our second trip to site 4 and while we had a great time I dont think well be back. The biggest issue is the tree branch that blocks the entrance to site 4. I just don't understand why they allow trailers into this site with how low the branch is. You can tell its been hit numerous times causing damage to people vehicles. We had to get so close to the tree itself to avoid the branch the big root system ripped our leveling jack off. They need to either remove the branch or make it tent only. And the other issue we had was the site wasn't mowed at all so we were camping in knee high grass. I was worried the exhaust system on our truck was going to start a fire it was so tall. And we had two dogs with us who got numerous ticks while we where there. All in all it was a good trip and if you're tent camping its a great site.
