Site 1 - Organic Cattle Ranch in West Marin
I received Lisa’s instructions and directions the day before our check-in, and they were detailed and clear. It got pretty windy towards the evening, so be prepared with layers. The view was very pretty as the sun went down, and we loved waking up to the birds chirping. If you’re a light sleeper, you may want to bring earplugs since you’ll hear owls, dogs and other animals at night (in the distance). It’s otherwise a very peaceful and well-kept spot and I’d visit again with my family.

A tent camper's review - awesome!
Incredible place for tent camping! I wanted to share some details I would like to know when tent camping.
Biggest thing, its as whisper quiet and peaceful as you could hope and dream. Its a farm, the camping spot is on a hill in a stand of trees that's very carefully maintained.
Hosts are awesome, super responsive whenever I asked a question before we got there.
Bathrooms are awesome, even though a 5min walk. The reason they're so nice is the farm hosts weddings, and they build a proper bathroom building, standalone, that has 3 bathrooms in it, meant to be nice enough for wedding guests. No porta potties here, its really really nice. Just know its a little walk.
Water source - you'll ideally have a camping jug, 5 gal or something, because the water source is 150 yrd walk, flat. No biggie, but just have a jug, or even 1 gallon jugs from a grocery store that you can refill. Thse little details help!
Weather - being up on a knoll, there was an afternoon breeze (July 4th cool spell), so we were very glad I had proper pants, jacket and hat. 7 year old and mom were all fine. What won't work is having just jeans and a fleece. If you're not from the Bay, just know a crisp breeze anywhere within a few miles of the Pacific means its crisp.
Nearby Doran beach has showers at the public campsite that are quarter operated! Key if you visit with kids, get sandy and salty, and need to rinse.
General store in Valley Ford, and Tomales! Bodega Bay Oyster company, get 'em!

We loved camping on Lisa’s land, a quiet Ranch in the hills in North Marine. We stayed with a tent and campervan (granny, mom, dad & 19 month old toddler) for one night and slept wonderfully. The ranch is very cute and also serves as an event space. We loved exploring the area (wine, baked goods, bodega bay). Would come again, even though it’s a bit pricey. Communication was easy and very friendly.

Campers should know that a firing range is nearby: would be horrible for sensitive pets, and effects the otherwise very pristine bucolic nature if this great site…. Site frequented by those visiting farm, looking at wedding venue.

The property was amazing and fantastic, although, I don’t think it is worth the price. Compared to other properties you can find, I wish this was under 100.

After a week in the bustle of Carmel and Carmel Valley we needed a quiet place to stay going north. A three plus hour drive to the ranch was enough. Having a perfect place to camp by ourselves and not having to deal with anyone was ideal. A few cows came up the fence and checked us out. The night was dark and very quiet and being treated as a capable adults and taking care of ourselves was ideal. Will definitely stay there again.

Lovely space to disconnect and sink in with someone you really love. It was relaxing and such a great space to not worry about the world around you.
We always wonder why we would pay more than twice what others sites charge for very few amenities compared to the others. And it comes down to peace and quiet. No car noise. No boom boom music. The smell of the grass. The proximity to coastal and inland towns to explore. And the cooler weather. So while it's clearly the most expensive HipCamp we have ever splurged on (and we've been to a lot), we will likely continue to come back here and there.
Just wish there was a porta potty at the site vs the trek down the hill. You really have to plan ahead for the walk.

Beautiful grove on private ranch

Perfect spot for a quick mid-week overnighter. I had the grove all to myself and enjoyed the peace and quiet. It was quite windy during my stay, so I had to park outside of the grove proper to avoid any falling branches. Was still pretty to be around. The washroom facilities are a far walk from the site, with that I'd say this site is best for fully self contained campers.

Rustic Cabin on Organic Ranch
Super cozy cabin! Four of us stayed here very comfortably after a late night bioluminescence kayak tour in tomales bay. It was easy to arrive (very smooth self check in), everything was clear. Very nice beds. We didn’t really need the kitchen but it would have had everything we needed for easy meal prep. Highly recommend!

My wife and I loved camping at Lisa's Hip Camp with our travel trailer. The view was marvelous, we enjoyed watching the ranchers feed the cattle. The bird songs were sweet and the smell of Eucalyptus permeated the air. The host's husband dropped by our camp to see if we were happy and of course we told him we were. When we arrived my wife said she thought she had gone to heaven. When we left she thanked me for the restful camping trip. Even though the site was more expensive than most Hip Camps we plan to return and camp there again.
We had a wonderful time camping at the ranch for a few nights. The campsite was clear and easy to reach. Lisa was very clear with the instructions for check-in and check-out and there was plenty of space between sites. The bathrooms were very clean and easy to access.
If you’re looking for a place to stay in the area there are tons of hikes, places to eat, beaches… etc. 10/10 recommend.

Amazing site! Easy to find and very private. Woke up to sounds of sheep. Awesome views. Clean and well appointed bathrooms.
Peaceful retreat surrounded by beautiful scenery on a working ranch. The drive up to Tomales was like going into another time, especially as you got closer to the ranch. The cottage had the look and feel of a very comfortable cabin with all the basic amenities. My visit was too short for an overnight. Waking to the song of birds visiting the Cyprus tree and the cows mooing in the distance was a treat.

Charming Farmhouse on Organic Ranch
We loved staying here. It's cozy, comfortable, and beautiful - the perfect combination. We were four friends just enjoying each other's company and the accommodations worked well for us (4 separate beds including the pull out sofa for our snorer). It has all the modern comforts set in a wonderfully rustic and gorgeous location.

Beautiful property and great bathroom facilities. There was no one else camping there when we were there. Hot tip -- don't put your tent under the eucalyptus trees as they gather condensation from the fog and drip ;)

Beautiful property. Quiet. Close enough to the ocean to enjoy a nice cool breeze at the top of the hill where you camp. Worked out perfectly for me as a stop-over on my way north. Ended up taking the scenic route up Hwy. 1 since it's right there. The campsite itself was a cozy spot under a eucalyptus tree. I did need to do a good wash of the vehicles because of the dew dripping off the tree, but worth the effort for a perfect little setup.

This was my second overnight stay here and as good as the first. It is a beautiful spot-next to a grove of trees overlooking hills and farmland in a beautiful area. I worked with Lisa by text and she is very responsive. Everything is very clear.

Super cool spot with great highway access yet feels quite remote. Great directions and really nice setting. Best experienced in a fully contained vehicle - bathrooms are not near site. We had multiple owl sitings and the cows came to visit!

It was so peaceful and we really enjoyed the open space feeling surrounded by rolling hills and cattle.
As an added bonus it was an easy visit to Dillon beach and Bodega Bay along with the quaint communities of Tomales and Valley Ford. Both have nice stores and restaurants.

Perfect location for exploring the Sonoma Coast. Plenty of room and amazing views of the rolling hills and evening fog line above the Pacific. We had an incredible night for star gazing, as the fog didn’t make it all the way to us. Defiantly in the high end of pricing considering the overall amenities, but you can’t really put a price tag on the view and property. We will definitely be back soon.
