Occidental At Its Best!
This was my first time staying at this site, but the second time here for a couple of my friends, and I really enjoyed it! The property is beautiful and Jonah is an awesome, very laid back host. He greeted me when I arrived, gave me a tour of the property, shared some leaves from his bay leaf tree, and made us feel right at home. He also lended us a table, chairs, and we borrowed one of his cots to use as our camp « sofa ».
Jonah also gave me a heads up that we would have a large party camping near us. Our neighboring campers actually ended up making the experience even better. They were fun to socialize with and we ended up sharing snacks and hanging out.
The site is definitely rustic, so plan on bringing all the essentials, including plenty of water and toilet paper. Overall, we had a great time and I would happily stay here again!

Jonah had lots of space for two-three sites and for everybody to have the privacy they needed. Jonah was really friendly, generous, and super interesting to talk to. The history of the plot is also really cool and we loved staying here! Thanks for having us we will be back!!

Nice quiet and affordable spot! Very minimalist the description/photos give you a good idea of what you’re in for. Washroom situation and lack of water are a bit inconvenient similar to blm camping. The location is great, on a beautiful quiet street, great for morning strolls through the vineyards. Host was very friendly and accommodating, would stay again!!

We had a great time tenting on Jonahs property. We also enjoyed the other folks camping and the weather was perfect. Thanks again for your insight and contributions to our experience Jonah.
We pulled up in our Glampervan and found a level spot with a view! Jonah greeted us and was very welcoming. Quiet & private

Beautiful spot in Sonoma county. Jonah was friendly and communicative, greeting us upon arrival. FYI, there is no running water on the property.
Jonah was great and the site was perfect for what we needed. Community vibes! Our kids were able to make friends with the other campers and ran around picking fresh blackberries while the adults all got aquainted and chatted in the shared kitchen area. The porta potty was well maintained and we were 15- 20 mins from the river. Bring your own water and pack your own trash! We'd come back again.

Jonah’s land was beautiful and he was such a great host! Checking in was easy, he was very welcoming and made our stay unforgettable. I’d highly recommend booking with him for any camping needs in the Sonoma Valley!
Jonah is awesome! He's the most kind and helpful host I've ever met. This spot was perfect for our crew to take over the whole 3 spots on the farm. We will be back!
We were hoping for a quiet rural escape, but this listing didn't quite match the photos or description. The setting is a suburban backyard — neighboring houses are clearly visible from the camping area, and there's no real privacy between sites or from the owner's on-site RV. The shared cooking area is essentially the RV's patio, which felt more intimate than expected.
The property also has some ongoing construction — partial foundations, heavy equipment, and building materials fill the driveway, which you'll need to navigate at night to reach the portable toilet (located near the RV). A large slightly dilapidated garage is also on site. If you're picturing a bucolic farm setting, note that while there are grapevines across the road, the surroundings are decidedly suburban.
That said, the host was genuinely warm and responsive. If you just need a convenient place to stop for the night and aren't expecting a polished outdoor experience, it may suit you fine. We ultimately chose not to stay, but that's a personal call based on what you're looking for. We'd recommend reading recent reviews and looking at all the photos carefully (which paint a rosier picture than our experience) before booking.
I found it remote and a nice quiet area. I would stay there again.

Great location just minutes from downtown Occidental. Josh is a great host.
Jonah was super friendly and helpful both prior to and upon arrival helping me find the best spot and showng me where things are and amswering any questions. The provided porta toilet was clean and close by, too. The location was perfect for what I needed on my trip north, a short but beautiful jaunt off my main path, and was friendly to our dogs, though beware the relative lack of fencing if your dog likes to wander far! Thanks, Jonah! I'll be back!

Jonah is very kind and friendly but for the price per night it would be nice to clearly designate each site to avoid confusion, add a handwashing station at the porta potty, clean off the chairs, tables, and bbq before guests arrive. The only source of water is bright orange apparently from iron in the well water but it definitely would not be good for a hookup as is stated in the site description.

Jonah was so friendly and inviting. He is a wealth of knowledge and was so nice to connect with. The property is in a great location for visiting the surrounding towns and there are tables and chairs to make your stay more comfortable. Thank you Jonah!

It was an okay place to car camp, but not worth the price. The host is friendly and knowledgable of the area, but the condition of the advertised amenities does not match the description. Much can be done to improve the camper’s experience.

Great stay on Jonah’s property. Beautiful meadow with view over the hills.. Jonah is super accommodating and easy to communicate. Just a short drive to “downtown” Occidental, great hiking close by. We will be back!

Had a peaceful solo stay in my camper van at Jonah’s spot. The property is quiet and grounding, and once we connected, Jonah was kind and welcoming. I appreciated the space to do my own thing and felt safe and supported throughout. Would return!
We had a great overnight at Jonah’s! We were struggling to find a place to stay on July 4th that was 1. On our way down the coast and 2. Wasn’t unbelievably expensive because of the holiday, and Jonah’s worked out great! He was incredibly welcoming and you could tell he wanted us to have a nice stay.
Jonah’s isn't a place where you’ll have complete privacy, but we knew that going in. There were two other groups of campers staying and we were all in the same area and able to see one another, this wasn’t an issue for us and everyone was very respectful, quiet, and friendly. Getting there google took us down a very steep and windy road, so if you have a longer camping setup / trailer be aware of the route you take - this wasn’t a Jonah issue but a google one, but wanted to share!

I loved tent camping on Jonah’s land. He was right there to greet me upon arrival to give me the low-down. I went up with my dog to get away from the July 4th activities which are intense where I live. The land and surrounding area is gorgeous. I took my dog on a long walk along the roads before sunset. We spotted a coyote roaming about just before turning in for the night, but it wasn’t threatening at all. There were other campers while I was there as well, which was nice.
I felt safe which is paramount as a single woman.

Had a wonderful stay. Jonah was super friendly and easy to contact if I needed help or ask questions. The property wasn't pristinly manicured, but I don't find that important, location is everything and that part was great! It was affordable in an area that lodging is scarce and expensive. Occidental is a magical town filled with incredible people.
We ended up arriving after dark and Jonah helped us get set up quickly. He even made us literally the best cup of coffee as we were packing up to leave!
Very quiet out at Jonah’s. Great vista across the valley to the mts in East Sonoma County.

A place to put our tent in beautiful Occidental. There was a nice view of the mountains from our spot and the huge bottlebrush bushes were in bloom.
