A great place to stay just outside of the park. Be near the park, but feel that complete privacy. These sites are very spaced out from each other and are large. No need to cram together! Explore the mines and hang out on our Groveland, California ranch!
We have 824 acres on a beautiful cattle ranch with two small ponds. On our property, you'll find frogs, turtles, oak trees, pine trees and stunning views of Yosemite.
We have several campsites to choose from including RV camping, tent camping, and a glamping tent. Pets are welcome. Campfires are permitted as long as there is no fire ban. Potable water and toilet are available onsite.
There's a golf course less than a mile away. We are also very close to town. In just a few minutes, you can drive to our local grocery store and pizza parlour.
We are a 10-minute drive to Pine Mountain Lake. Beautiful Pine Mountain Lake offers golfing, dining, horseback riding, water sports and an airport.
When you come to the ranch it feels like you are hundreds of miles away from civilization, but still close to everything you need. It is incredibly peaceful!
This is a great place for someone who wants to escape city life and enjoy the tranquillity of nature.
Much of the ranch is open wilderness for you to explore, and it's not uncommon to see deer, frogs, turtles, quail, turkeys, or other countless species of birds.
Diamond Gulch Camp is the perfect place to relax if you’re a photographer, artist, family or a group of friends looking for a place to camp near Yosemite.
A small portion of the property was used as a gold mine years ago, and you may find remnants of old home sites if you go exploring. We're not far from Wards Ferry Road, Groveland, Lake Don Pedro and other interesting places.

It’s important to us that our guests don’t feel they are renting a tent/RV site or a camper as much as they’re immersing themselves into the outdoor experience. You may just want to sit outside and read for days, enjoy campfires and eat s'mores. For more adventurous, there's a full slate of self-guided recreational activities, such as hiking, kayaking, fishing, ATVing, rock climbing, biking, natural water slides, stand up paddle boards, bird watching, available in the area. We do have modern conveniences such as wifi internet; however, we encourage our guests to “unplug” and immerse in the slow paced life instead.
At Paradise Shores, we believe in protecting people, animals and the planet. We make sure that the majority of products we use at our camp is recycled, composted, or re-used. We prefer to use products that are produced in a sustainable way and avoid those that aren't.
We are continuously reducing the amount of waste we generate and actively promote recycling of aluminum, plastic, glass, and cardboard. We pack our own recycling and haul it to the nearest recycling facility which is an hour away. We co-opt the drive with other activities to reduce waste. We don’t use individually packaged toiletries or one-use products. We use plant and planet friendly detergent.
We're based in a desert. We share our precious water with the entire planet. With only 326 million cubic miles of water on the earth, the decreasing amounts of access to quality fresh water is alarming to us. We monitor how we use water in our day-to-day activities and are constantly working on ways to reduce our consumption of fresh-water resources.
We hope you can help us maintain this greener camping!
We hope Paradise Shores Camp becomes your home as it is ours. It’s located in one of the most spectacular areas in the world. We’re surrounded on three sides by the high Sierra Nevada Mountains. Yosemite National Park, Tuolumne Meadows, Mono Lake, June Lake, Virginia Lakes, and Twin Lakes, as well as the historic gold-mining town of Bodie, CA are all within a short drive from our place.
We're proud to know this area intimately and are excited to share the secret spots with you. The excellent hiking/running trails including the Pacific Crest Trail, thousands of miles of ATV, dirt bike and mountain bike trails are accessible right from our camp or within a short drive from here. The surrounding terrain offers endless activities and unbelievable scenery in remote wilderness settings.
Pet Policy
All our RV & Tent sites are pet friendly and we allow up to two dogs per reservation for a small fee. We can also accommodate up to two four-legged campers in our pet-friendly Baja or Tatra trailers for a small fee, we ask that they stay off the furniture (beds, sofas etc.) and are not left in the rental unattended. We love dogs, but sadly won’t be able to accommodate heavily shedding pets that aren’t house trained. Additionally, our insurance will not allow "aggressive breeds" that include any mix of: Pit Bull, Rottweiler, Doberman, German Sheppard.
Please pick up after your pup and use a leash when at the camp. Thank you in advance for your consideration and help in keeping our camp a mellow and enjoyable place for everyone.

Each A-frame is equipped with solar power for small device charging, a portable fan, and access to an odorless composting toilet (cabin 2,3) or a pottery (cabin 1) near the cabin. The cabins also have access to hot showers and flushing toilets across the highway at our sister property. It’s a true step off the beaten path and into a more immersive experience.
The cabins include a bed, shelter from the elements, and solar-powered lighting and charging. Because this is a rustic glamping experience, the cabin doors do not lock. We are located in a quiet, remote setting, and guests should plan accordingly.
• Cabin 1: Easily accessible for most vehicles.
• Cabins 2 and 3: A bit more adventurous — AWD or 4x4 recommended during rain or wet conditions.
Note that when temperatures in Groveland are above 90 degrees, the cabins do get quite warm. The best ways we have found to manage the heat is by leaving the doors open during the day (with the screen door closed), curtain closed, and fan on all day.

We are 10 minutes from the small town of Groveland with a market and restaurants and just down the road from the put in for rafting on the Tuolumne river.
Our pricing is a little higher than other places nearby and this is due to the property's great locations, incredible beauty, and all of the amenities added for a great experience.

Important notes:
We are off-grid. There is no electricity in the campground with exception of a small solar powered system to operate our entry gate, guest Wi-Fi and intercom. Outlets are not available for guest use.
Our campground is home to wildlife. You can minimize unwanted encounters by properly storing food and garbage.
We have one central bathhouse with 3 flushing toilets. Sites vary in distance from a short walk to a short drive. The bathhouse has 4 shower stalls in the rear of the building. The bathhouse is closed from 10pm to 8am. The bathhouse does not have electricity or interior lighting.
Our Hacienda section ("H" Sites) has vault toilets. Portables are located throughout the campground for your convenience.
There is minimal privacy from other campers due to the placement of the sites and the way our trees and vegetation is trimmed for fire resistance.

Heart Valley ranch hosts 300+ acres of rolling pasture nestled along the beautiful Jackass Creek. Access to Yosemite via 120 takes 1 hour , Groveland 10 minutes, and Coulterville 5 minutes. You’ll find cows, goats, chickens, llamas and our two beloved livestock dogs on the property. Many pools to cool off in and sweeping sunset views from the highest point on the property. There is lots of nature to enjoy including bird watching, seasonal wildflowers, and other wild animals.
We welcome all ❤️🌈
We highly recommend not bringing any animals, including service animals. We have two livestock guardian dogs that free roam the property and they are not friendly with other animals.

This area was once inhabited by local native American Tribes. In the 1840's prospectors arrived in search of gold but none was found in the immediate area. Old Yosemite Base camp was along the route into Yosemite National Park prior to the construction of Highway 41. Horse and Carriage traveled along Old Yosemite Road from Mariposa and the entire golden state. Visitors from the world now pass through Oakhurst to Yosemite National Park along this route. Hipcampers, come pitch your tent at one of five Old Yosemite Base Camp (OYBC) drive in and walk in sites. OYBC offers over six acres of pine, oak, and bay trees, sprinkled around large granite features that remind you that Half Dome is not far away! Each unique site is equipped with a stone fire ring with cook top and a picnic table accommodating four person dining. Old Yosemite Base Camp is the perfect place to enjoy the sunset and stargaze next to a campfire after an adventurous day in the southern Yosemite region. Yosemite tent camping without all the crowds and tour buses is what you can expect. Backing up to the Sierra National Forest OYBC is conveniently located near HWY 41 just 14 miles from Yosemite’s south gate entrance. The region also offers a large amount of hiking trails where you can find swim holes, waterfalls giant sequoias, lakes, and rivers. Take 15-minute drive to Bass Lake and enjoy water sports and lake view dining.
OYBC offers five camp sites and all wheel drive is required to get to the top of camp. OYBC sites 1, 2, 3, are drive up sites and 4 & 5 are walk in sites that have a separate parking area. All wheel drive is still needed to get to this lot.

👋 Hi, I'm Caley. I’m a mom of three running a small homestead complete with a garden, a dog, a cat, a flock of chickens, and guinea pigs!
The homestead sits along the river in the foothills above Mariposa with five acres of land to wander, seasonal swimming holes, and plenty of wildlife and plant life to take in along the way. River is swimmable until about mid-July. Then starts flowing again in late September.
I'm a musician, and I love sharing my instruments, so don't be shy about asking to borrow one. We're always happy to share a meal, let the kids run around together, or just sit and feed the animals for a while. But if you're here for peace and quiet, that's just as welcome. This is a place for whatever you need.
Every dollar from your booking goes directly back into the property - animal feed, tending to the land, and the community projects we're always dreaming up. So thank you, genuinely, for being part of that.

We absolutely loved our stay here! ❤️ This was our first time car camping in our Tesla, and we honestly couldn’t have picked a better campsite for the experience.
The property was beautiful, peaceful, and had everything we could have hoped for. We loved the privacy, beautiful views, fire pit, bathroom/shower amenities, and being surrounded by nature. It was the perfect balance of feeling like we were getting away and still having the comforts that made our stay relaxing and enjoyable.
One of our favorite parts was simply being able to settle into our Tesla, enjoy the scenery, watch the sunset, have a fire, and wake up to such a peaceful setting. 🌅🔥 There was something really special about being able to slow down and enjoy quality time together without all the distractions of everyday life.
The host was also wonderful and clearly puts a lot of thought and care into creating a welcoming experience for guests. You can tell that this campsite has so much potential, and we really hope more people discover it!
Since we noticed there aren’t many reviews yet, we wanted to make sure we took the time to share our experience. If you’re thinking about booking this campsite, do it! We had such a great time, felt comfortable and welcomed, and would absolutely come back again. 🏕️❤️

Truly the best hip camp site I’ve found!! Everything you need and nothing you don’t. We cooked dinner on the propane fire and watched the last bit of sunset on the mountains and woke up to a beautiful sunrise too! The sites are spaced apart well so it’s not crowded and the showers and bathrooms are exceptionally clean with high quality towels. We got to meet Marty who’s been a river guide for 50 years and he showed us his amazing collection of river finds and shiny things! 10/10 stay and would love to come back soon!

This site made our Yosemite visit so much easier. Less than 20 minutes from the entrance, gas station across the street, shower on site, and we had a tent ready for us when we got there! This came in handy as we didn't get in until close to 11p. Would definitely stay again.

We loved camping at Diamond Gulch. There's lots of sites, we were in one with plenty of shade from the trees. There is FREE firewood available at each campsite that is replaced upon request. There is a dish-washing basin with a light that was super convenient. There are showers with warm water, which was a huge game changer. The campsite is back on a farm and the view of the stars is insane. My husband and I went to a dark zone in New Zealand and we both thought the stars here were crazier than that. The campsite is a 30 minute drive from the Yosemite gate and was a convenient spot for us as we went into the park every day. It's also very near a convenience store and gas station. We loved camping here and would definitely recommend.

Since all spots near Yosemite were booked, I had to find an alternative and I’m so glad I did. I don’t think I would’ve had the same relaxing experience camping at the park like I did on John’s ranch. Diamond Gulch Camp is quite, clean, and quaint with beautiful views. I will certainly plan on staying on my next visit to Yosemite and definitely recommend others to check it out.

We had a great time at Shangrilog! Matthew and Molly were great hosts - they were super responsive and had logs, a bucket, and camp chairs ready for us by the fire pit. The site is close to a road, but it is still quiet and feels like you are in the middle of the woods. We loved the creek walking trail.

We spent two nights at the mountain quail campsite. The site was clean, well equipped with things like charging outlets, warm water etc.
The showers were the highlight of our trip. Something magical about an outdoors shower with hot water and warm sunlight on your body!

We really enjoyed our time at this campground. It was very clean and quiet and a great place to unplug and relax. Very easy to get to. There’s ATVs to rent however we didn’t indulge on this trip. Our main reason for this location was to be close to Yosemite National Park. The distance to get there was only 30 minutes from the campsite. Weekend Trip to Nolla A-Frames Near Yosemite
We loved our stay here during our first trip to Yosemite! Coming back to a quiet, restful spot after an exhausting day was so much better than staying down in the busy Valley Floor campgrounds. The 24/7 showers right across the highway were easy to use, and we were pleasantly surprised to have Wi-Fi after spending most of our road trip offline. Liza was super responsive and helpful throughout. Highly recommend, and we will definitely be back! Big thanks to Liza and Tom for the fantastic hospitality!
