Off-Grid A-Frame Glamping Near Yosemite 🌄🛖 Tucked just 15 miles east of Groveland and about 20 minutes from the Yosemite National Park entrance, our modern A-frame cabins offer a unique, off-grid experience for those who want a little more comfort than a tent — without giving up the adventure. Designed by the Finnish group Nolla, these minimalist and cozy cabins are built to help you unplug and unwind. Each cabin is well insulated, includes fresh linens, and Rumpl blankets to keep you warm. Perfect for couples, small families, or close-knit friends, the cabin can be arranged as either two twin beds or a king-sized bed to accommodate up to four people. Whether you’re here for a romantic getaway under the stars or a no-frills glamping basecamp for Yosemite exploration, these cabins offer a mix of simplicity and comfort. Each A-frame is equipped with solar power for small device charging, a portable fan, and access to an odorless composting toilet (cabin 2,3) or a pottery (cabin 1) near the cabin. The cabins also have access to hot showers and flushing toilets across the highway at our sister property. It’s a true step off the beaten path and into a more immersive experience. • Cabin 1: Easily accessible for most vehicles. • Cabins 2 & 3: A bit more adventurous — AWD or 4x4 recommended during rain or wet conditions. Cabin 1 is our most accessible site, while still offering plenty of privacy and quiet. It is a short drive to this site, and offers beautiful views, a picnic table, and a composting toilet. This Nolla Cabin has 2 Twin beds, or you can convert them into a King sized bed by adding our provided planks in between. Perfect for a couple, two friends, or a family of 4 (with young kids). The cabin includes a solar battery (enough to charge your devices and more). We will provide bedding: sheets, pillows, and cozy Rumpl blankets.

The area was cute and exactly as pictured. It is a small cabin with a bed and 1 plug and no cell service. It rained a lot which made the road very difficult to navigate in my compact SUV. The host left very detailed directions about the road & terrain, but didn’t mention any check in instructions. When we finally got to cabin, the door wouldn’t open. We had to drive back down, our car sliding on a muddy hill, & go 20 minutes back down the road until we got cell service to ask the host what to do. Liza said that the door gets stuck and to pull it really hard. So we began the trek back up to the cabin. We had to pull the door so hard it felt like we were about to break it. Then realized before bed that we couldn’t lock it at all. The host should either replace the door or let people know that it gets stuck in the check in instructions.

We enjoyed our stay for 2 nights. Great location to stay and explore Yosemite. Not many cabins in the property, hence quiet and peaceful. The cabin itself was comfy, and more spacious than expected.

The cabin is really quiet and peaceful, the view is excellent and the beddings are comfy. Liz and Tom provided us very clear instructions before our trip and checked in with us during our stay. We had a great time!

Amazing and secluded spot with a super comfortable bed! We used this as our landing zone for our Yosemite trip and it did not disappoint. The cabin and pit toilet were clean and the layout was perfect for our little getaway weekend for my birthday. Instructions were clear and hosts were very responsive. I do highly recommend a high clearance vehicle if you are staying in Cabin 2 and 3. I never had to use my 4WD but sure glad we took our crossover, probably would use 4WD for a rainy weekend. A fantastic and convenient spot. We plan on being back in the future!

Pros: 15 mins to west entrance, showers across the road, nice and clean, slept 3 comfortable in their convertible king size. Cons: table sat on a slope so it was very lopsided, the cabin made alot of thumping noise as the planks expanded and popped when it got hotter. Also it was very jarring at night when the cabin would just make a loud popping sound or thump. Not great for light sleepers

Quiet and peaceful location with amazing views. Thoughtful touches including chargers, warm blankets, a picnic table and drinking water. Have access to showers on the sister property was a huge bonus! Nothing like a hot shower after a long day of hiking. I would highly recommend this glamp site.

My husband and I loved this place. We had the whole site to ourselves, but kept thinking how fun it would be to come back with friends and rent cabin number two since they’re right next to each other. The cabin was clean, and so was the restroom. We brought our pup, and she had the best time. 10 out of 10 would recommend. It’s private, beautiful, and close to great hikes and Yosemite.

Me & my girlfriend got to experience cabin 3 with our 2 dogs, we stayed for 3 nights starting 4/9. It was raining when we went but with the proper equipment it wasn’t to much of a problem, I would definitely recommend 4wd when raining, at least for cabin 2 & 3 as the host mentioned. Overall the host were very communicative and helpful with all of our questions which also made the trip go that much smoother. Overall, it was a great experience and we do hope to explore more of yosemite in the near future while enjoying another stay at the Nolla A Frames!

A delight just outside Yosemite

Tom and Liz were wonderful hosts! Super responsive. We absolutely love the site and the cabin. We stayed at Cabin 1 which was private and perfect for a couple. The cabin itself well built and great view in the morning. 50 minutes from hetch hetchy and 20 minutes from Big Oak Yosemite Entrance! Last but not least, the shower across the highway super clean and accessible! HOT SHOWER!

This was a great place and bigger than expected. Nice counter space for meal prep and another shorter table perfect for a game of monopoly. I also felt like the price was more than fair. I’d definitely stay there again.

Cabin is maintained great. The views were amazing and the shower across the highway was added benefit. The cabin was calm and private. Prepare to go with some downloaded movies coz there is no reception and have to go to their sister property across the highway to access wifi.

We could not have asked for a better experience! Lisa and Tom are wonderful hosts and they gave us some great recommendations on what to do and how to stay comfortable. It's a beautiful property and the cabins are so much fun. We will definitely be coming back and it was hard to leave on the last day. Thank you Lisa and Tom!

Beautiful Stay in Friendly Wood

Very beautiful nordic-aesthetic cabin and overall comfortable stay. A few things to note: I recommend arriving before dark --really appreciated Tom coordinating a 4WD ride up to cabin two, but spot was a little tricky to find with limited service. Host was very communicative to help us! I recommend checking out before 11am, communication after checkout was detail-focused, including documentation of small things during turnover. In the winter, I recommend bringing at least a few more blankets / warm clothing for warmth all night! Lastly, make sure to bring your twinkle lights! **key for cozy aesthetic!**

Really loved the convenience of camp. Showers close by via a quick drive. Propane fire is a must if camping in late January / colder weather. Getting to Yosemite was also very easy. Liza and Tom were very responsive to questions throughout the trip and our stay was great! Highly recommend!

Perfect solo “camping” trip

I was looking for a last minute escape to the mountains to clear my head but didn’t want to deal with a) my own tent or gear, b) a big campground with tons of other people, c) pretentious “glamping” tents, or d) a soulless “cabin” for family reunions. Bonus points for cool design. Liza and Tom’s site was perfect! Tucked up in the woods so it feels remote but easily accessible from the road and just a few minutes drive to cell service and food options. I was in cabin 2 next to a friendly couple in cabin 3, but when I was inside it felt like I was all alone. The A-frame itself is a cool minimalist Scandinavian design, with comfy beds and an incredible floor to ceiling window to watch the sunset and pick out constellations after dark. Outhouse/toilet was comfy, clean and didn’t smell at all. Showers were modern and clean with fresh towels (they’re across the main road so best to drive). I can’t wait to come back for a longer stay!

We loved our stay! It was everything we were hoping for. The A-Frames were very comfortable for the two of us and our 130lb dog. The camp site itself was very quiet and private. Really easy access to the park and nice to have the option of using the showers at their sister property if needed. We're planning on coming back and staying again!

Cozy vibes near Yosemite!

We decided last minute on a stay near Yosemite and this place was conveniently near the highway leading to the West entrance but still private and secluded. The views at night with the stars were beautiful!!! We did stay after a snowstorm so it was cold but bundled up with our own extra blankets and sleeping bags and were cozy! Really cozy and very nice to have extra blankets and the charger.

The A-frame cabin was a beautiful, scenic stay within convenient distance from Yosemite. I found it easy to check in, and the hosts provide useful guidance for finding the cabin. Cell service is spotty, so be sure to plan ahead. I found it easy to find, but be aware that you'll want to plan ahead. The view out the cabin window was stunning, and I found all accommodations - bed, desk, lamp, battery, and shower - very comfortable. I will always remember the stars and moonlight.

As a solo traveler (with canine companion) I appreciate good communication with hosts and feeling safe within my camping surroundings. Tom and Liza are thoughtful hosts and Cabin One is charming. It is easily accessible via dirt road with a near-by porta-potty. If you want to feel more remote during your camping experience inquire about cabins two & three (as well as accessibility.) A Yeti full of a generous amount of clean, potable water is provided. I camp with extra warm Rumple-style blankets and hand-heater packets because I get cold easily. I was cozy overnight during my early November stay and enjoyed breakfast in the morning sun at the adjacent picnic table. The photos in the multiple reviews all accurately depict the set-up at the Cabin One sight. Trust the pin & directions to your campsites provided :) I’m looking forward to camping during late-spring/early summer and trying Campsites Two/Three!

Quiet Location with Beautiful View

Liza and Tom’s Cabin was a great place to stay at to provide us with the calm views of the California hills we were looking for. They set up the cabin for us before we arrived so all we truly needed to do was unwind and enjoy the sunset, stars, and sunrise! While we stayed for a quick trip, we would’ve loved to visit for longer to continue to enjoy what the cabin had to offer.
