Welcome to Red Tail Ranch, a beautiful 90 acre property in the Sierra Nevada foothills, just 25 minutes from the Yosemite entrance gate. Among the oak woodlands, meadows and coniferous forest, there are numerous trails to explore the property and direct riding access to a developed mountain biking area nearby. Great birding, botanizing and wildlife watching opportunities abound. We have RV sites with hookups, a four site drive-in campground and two walk-in campsites- all with clean, flush toilet bathrooms, hot outdoor showers, indoor camp kitchen and gathering space. Whether your pitching a tent, parking a campervan or rv, there are opportunities for everyone. We are 10 minutes from the small town of Groveland with a market and restaurants and just down the road from the put in for rafting on the Tuolumne river. Our pricing is a little higher than other places nearby and this is due to the property's great locations, incredible beauty, and all of the amenities added for a great experience. Headwaters RV #1

Robb's property was amazing! We were originally set to stay at the Yosemite Hodgdon Meadow campsite but we decided we needed full hookups, and found the Red Tail Ranch campsite. We are so glad we made the switch! It is only a bit further out from the action and the site was very lovely and well set up. The barn area was a beautiful nice place to relax (our son loved the semi-outdoor couch after being stuck in a trailer for a while!) and the outdoor showers were great- so much more clean, relaxing and accommodating than we would get in the park. We also enjoyed hiking around the property on the little trails available, and the site is set up for a beautiful view of the sunset! We also had the pleasure of having an nice chat with Robb and he was very friendly and accommodating- he clearly loves this beautiful property and wants to both be a good steward of it and share it and make it accessible for folks. If we every come back around this way this is where we will be staying, and we would highly recommend it for others.

Great Gray Owl Camp

We had a great time at the ranch. It was very hot and Robb made sure we didn't miss anything and were comfortable. The shower and bathrooms are very good, there is a common area with several plugs, sofas and Wi-Fi, which is appreciated after days of hiking. We would repeat without a doubt

Headwaters RV #1

We had a wonderful time staying at Red Tail Ranch! We stayed at Headwaters RV #1 (full hookup) for our fist trip to Yosemite. Robb’s land is beautiful! We did not use the outdoor showers, but they looked very nice. The stars were amazing! Robb was very responsive to questions and seems like a great guy. He is a nature photographer and he’s spent a lot of time in Yosemite, so he gave us some recommendations on what to do. This was our first hipcamp experience and it was fantastic! Will try and stay here again when we come back this way.

Great, Quiet Place to Camp!

We thoroughly enjoyed our camping at Headwaters RV spot on Robbs land, Red Tail Ranch. Great place to park the RV, great showers and rest rooms and amenities such as a place to sit and gather with friends (or new friends) while enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. Would gladly return for another stay if we ever are back that way.
