Diamond Gulch Camp
Such a great find!
Loved calling on this beautiful property! Get there early to grab your favorite spot. Plenty of fire pits, tables, and the firewood was a great perk. John was super friendly and helpful. If you want to head to Yosemite, recommend leaving like 6:30am as the wait to get in the park can take a few hours.

The camp had amazing views of the valley and was nestled amount the trees. The location was easy to reach just a few minutes right off the main road. The facilities were clean and the hot showers were perfect after a long day out. The owner was hospitable and came by to check on everyone in the morning.

Groveland Camp Site, Tent Provided!
Perfect for backpackers
Amazing location - the freedom, fire pit, animals and sunset-stricken views. We got the prearranged tent which was perfect for us backpacking travellers. Hot water shower is a touch. Free firewood and benches with seats make for a cosy evening star gazing after a big hike! Great location, but you will need a car to get there as it’s off the main Groveland high street somewhat. Would stay again - thanks John!

The space is clean and the portable bathroom is clean the two nights when we were there. Plenty of firewood available so that’s a plus. They have gate and fence around the campsite so the cows won’t be able to come close, very family friendly campsite. John let us to explore his beautiful land and even showed us around in the morning so our kid can see him feeding cows and donkeys. Highly recommended.

Beautiful camp with peaceful views. Breezes kept the temp from getting too hot. Clean and the shower was warm & refreshing after hiking at Hetch Hetchy. Had a fire each night with the wood provided. Thank you John!

Sweet
Nice spot in the foothills a short ways out of Groveland. The camping is in a fenced off area next to the cow pasture. There is an outdoor sink and shower which all work very nicely. Lots of live oak for shade.
We went on to Hetch Hetchy which is part of Yosemite and set in a very dramatic granite canyon. If hwy 120 is open, you can continue on into the rest of the park.
The campground owner John is very nice and helpful.
It was a fun trip!

Camping with curious cows
One of the best hip camps we’ve stayed in so far. John was very responsive and informative about the historical area. Plenty of sites to choose from. Outside shower was a big plus! Nearby, golfing and hiking. Property was well-maintained and the views spectacular.
Will surely visit again

Not the average Campground!
Our stay was amazing!! Pictures don't do it justice!! All the amenities were available: a camp table, fire pit, a shower, water, and a porta potty. To top it off we were greeted by caddle and their calves outside of the gate in the morning! John's land is super clean and he greeted us the next day in the morning to see if everything was okay! Perfect stay! Thank you John for the memories you let us make in your gorgeous property!!

Peaceful place.
John was a awesome host very easy to get along with. Give you all the privacy you need. The campground are full of shade everywhere. Make sure to bring bug repellent to spray on yourself in the summer time It very peaceful and no noise from the outside world. You can see every star in the sky. . It really easy to find just follow the signs to the campgrounds. firewood is provided. It's also a clean campgrounds. I would recommend this campgrounds. The campground is fenced in to keep the children safe and the cows out. The cows are not aggressive. Exploring his property is fun. John property has lots of history about homesteads and the first family who lived there are famous citizens of groveland. The campers are friendly and many come from other parts of the world. Groveland is a few miles away and offers many places to visit and shop. The town of groveland is safe and people are very friendly. If your looking for a campground with water, a clean bathroom, a clean shower and no trash anywhere . A place that is full of shade. to roast marshmallows. Watch the sunset and star gaze . Peaceful and fresh air this campground is the perfect place for you.

Yosemite Glamping Tent!
I had such a great time camping here! Spent one day with a friend and another solo. Felt very safe. John’s land is vast and beautiful! Directions were easy and the campsite exceeded my expectations. You are less than 10 min away from town but far enough to think otherwise. There is a good mix of trees to keep you cool when you want to get out of the sun. Had the yurt for two nights with its own outhouse. An outside shower accessible to all campers felt amazing! It wasn’t too hot so campfires were allowed and john supplies you with wood. We were fortunate that John had some time and took us around his property, sharing his knowledge of the land, wildlife, and native vegetation. It’s really peaceful up there, just sat around, listening to the wildlife - frogs, cows, coyotes, many different birds, etc.
Bring a pad for cot. It sags a bit so I folded my extra sleeping bag in half and placed in the middle and that felt better. It’s a twin size cot.
Coming back real soon with my man.

My favourite campsite!
John was an amazing host! He instantly made us feel at home at his amazing campsite which has become such a highlight of our trip! The fire was loaded with wood so all we needed to do was light it and enjoy the night around it!
The campsite is located at a really good distance to Yosemite and the local town has a really well stocked general store and a lovely saloon!
We will be recommending this to everyone!

Beautiful hilltop views with unique encounters with John’s cows, who visited each morning. Has an open air shower which was so refreshing. John is very friendly and responsive and visited a few times during our weekend stay to chat and give advice. There’s other sites but we never heard anyone else. This felt like a very private stay for us, our toddlers/infant, and a dog- which we very much needed! Also only thirty minutes from Yosemite. Recommend!

Diamond Gulch Camp
Gorgeous property, very friendly owner. The camping area is fenced to keep the cows out (well except the young ones who slid under one section) which was nice as one of our dogs gets a bit worried up around cows. Lots of space to walk around the property. We were lucky as it was just us and two other sites occupied which gave us a ton of privacy and space. If all the sites were occupied, it wouldn't have been as private, but the sites had reasonable space between them. Nicely leveled, picnic table, fire pit and wood for each site.

Amazing location and host
Me and my friend stayed at Groveland camping for one night. The camp is located in a beautiful area with cows and calfs running around (they are friendly). The tent was clean and had everything we needed, same goes for the yard and toilet which is kept outside. Although it wasn’t cold during the night, the owner John offered to bring us heating with a gas in it. John is an awesome host with great cheerful personality, made us feel very welcome. Lots of places to explore and to hike around with breathtaking views, fresh air, and at night it’s amazing spot for stargazing. We enjoyed our time very much. We will be definitely back.
