Amazing experience at Musick Creek!
Musick Falls Cove, June 1st to June 5th: I would definitely recommend this site to others but would first offer a few caveats: First, be prepared to lock your food inside of your car. We had a “bear scare” about 3:00 am one morning when a bear got into our food storage bins. Luckily, nobody was hurt and most of our food wasn’t eaten. Secondly, we were a group of 5, so tent space was scarce. We ended up splitting the group up at the water fall cove site between both sides of the creek. Crossing the creek numerous times a day between the tents and the main campsite resulted in constant wet feet and a few slips and falls. Luckily, nothing got broken accept a few egos and a charging station that got wet. Thirdly, the site had numerous little black water snakes which were harmless but scary to some of the members in our group who had a fear of snakes. Lastly, the waterfall, although beautiful to look at, was deafeningly noisy. We had to constantly shout at each other just to communicate. The noise of the waterfall only seemed to amplify at night while trying to sleep, like white-noise times 1,000. Truth be told, we aren’t seasoned campers. This was our most rugged camping experience as a family, to date. It definitely is NOT the “drive-up” camping experience you might be used to with parking spaces, communal bathrooms and coin-op showers. If I were to return, it would be by myself or with 1 or 2 other adult campers, no kids and with much less than what we brought. Pack light!
