Bad Experience. Site Double booked.
We reserved Camp site #2 three nights for Mother's Day weekend. Check in was at 2pm and at 3:30pm, the host texted me and said he moved me to site #1 because he believed it would work better for us. I didn't think too much of this. I have other hosts offer me different sites so this was normal. When arrived, there were already people camping in Site #2, the site we reserved. They told us they got the site through Harvest Host. I wasn't too happy to hear that we were double booked. I picked site #2 because it was surrounded by trees, had shade, and had places to hang hammocks based on the reviews and photos.
The next morning, the campers in Site #2 were still there but were packing up. We were getting ready to head out for the day so my thought was I would move back to my reserved site when we returned in the evening. When we returned that evening, there was another set of camper in site #2. Other sites were open. I messaged the host about this and he got right back to me blaming me for my situation and not letting him know sooner. He framed it as though he was helping me out by giving me more privacy but there was no privacy. There were campers right next to us both nights so far despite there being open sites further away. We did not stay the third evening, which was mothers day. We packed up or site and camper in the sun, because there was no shade in Site #1 and left. I messaged the host regarding a refund due to our reservation not being as described and he ignored me.
