We have one private site with a glamorous A Frame cabin and a modern tiny home and a tiny retro trailer. The site comes as one single package and is exclusive to you and your group! Nestled on its own private 3-acre redwood and oak forest, leading down to a creek. The site is located just 4 miles (10 min drive ) from Soquel Village and just 5 miles from the beach at Capitola. The site offers: - A 20ft modern container home with one queen sofa bed, large screen with Apple TV, kitchen, patio, fridge, microwave, cooktop, shower, and toilet. - A custom, outdoor kitchen, and bar for entertaining with gas BBQ, fridge freezer, sink with hot and cold filtered water, Sonos sound system. - Large gas fire pit and seating area. - One A Frame eco cabin with option for one king size day bed OR two singles, A twin mattress can also fit in the cabin when in the two singles configuration. The cabin has electricity, fan and heating for colder nights. - One very cute retro airstream style 1950's trailer with a twin bed for a couple or one person. - Space for 1-2 additional tents. For groups of 8 or more and special events please contact us so we can discuss the possibilities. - Onsite you should find all the basic amenities from home including all bedding, towels, kitchenware, cooking utensils, dining ware, herbs and spices, cleaning products, gas for the BBQ and fire pit is included etc. There are a few things you should bring: Food, drinks, ice and fun! The site looks down into a private and secluded redwood and oak forest with trails for small hikes into the redwood fairy circles or all the way down to the creek. The glamping site is on a sunny flat area surrounded by steep terrain up to a ridgeline and down to the creek. The creek is accessible although the final route requires a rope down so may not be suitable for everyone. Within 15-20 min drive you will find almost all major attractions in the Santa Cruz area including The Mistery Spot, Nisene Marks State Forest, Capitola Pier, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, and many famous surf breaks from Capitola to The Point, The Hook, Steamer Lane and many more., as well as many amazing mountain bike trails. There are also several Santa Cruz Mountain wineries to explore in a 3- 5 mile radius. Further afield you will find Monterey Bay Aquarium and the coastal beaches north up to San Francisco Bay ( 1 hour 30 mins north) and down to Big Sur about 1 hour 20 mins south. We ask all our visitors to be respectful of the environment, our wildlife, and our neighbors. Please drive slowly and respect the quiet times: between 9.30 pm and 8.30 am. We check all our guests in and provide a quick tour. We are a 5 acre property and home surrounded by tall redwood and oak trees. Very green and lots of shade. These are the amenities/facilities you will have free access to: Pool, Pool chairs and umbrellas, Deck area with sunset view, Trampolines, and hammocks. There is not cooking allowed by or at any of the common areas, due to flies and critters. Cooking and eating is only allowed by your sites and not in any common areas: Hammocks, Trampolines, Pool Area, tables, sink, and deck please follow this rule because we want to prevent our shared areas to be fly and bug infested. We are still working on ridding the flies and cleaning. (please try to bring prepackaged food or something easy. If anything you can drive 10 minutes to nearby food and grocery). In the past we let people cook and eat around the pool but now our whole property is fly infested and I find scattered leftovers on the ground. Thanks for understanding. THERE IS A 1-2 MINUTE HIKE TO THE CAMPSITES 1-5! Poolside campsites are closer to the parking and are bigger. CHECK OUT OUR NEW LODGING: This property is my home that I live in with my 2 kids. It is a rustic and homey vibe, definitely not a hotel. We want you to come knowing what to expect. Our property offers a pool, and trampolines for the kids. We have a deck patio area that overlooks an amazing view of the redwood forest. Most of our guests are those that come from foreign countries and they all LOVE the property. I love leaving a great impression of our area. CAMPGROUND GUIDELINES Pack out your trash. Rinse feet before using the pool. No pool toys or floaties. Always supervise kids. Don’t sit on chair edges or pool cover box. Use stumps or your own table for cooking (not ours). Keep the area clean—no food scraps on the ground. There are no size constraint on RVs or trailers. We have plenty of room for a second vehicle. We do offer a port-a potty. Cell service is very good. The Valley View site can be expanded to two sites, both with water and power hookups. The second site (Valley View 2) can only be booked together with Valley View - please inquire if interested. This is helpful for guests who have separate rigs but want to be close to each other. Our property is a great base camp for your Santa Cruz and Monterey County adventures! We are 15 minutes from Capitola Village, 30 minutes to downtown Santa Cruz and 45 minutes to Monterey. We love to host guests and will provide information about things to do and see in our area. There are clean composting toilets, hot showers, a propane fire pit, heaters for the cold, a hammock bungalow, a meditation pagoda, a deck overlooking a creek, and disc golf baskets. With a fair balance of sunlight and shade, we have a garden, some outdoor play equipment, and lots of open space to spread out and relax. Free wifi is available. We run a nonprofit outdoor education camp for underprivileged youth, and your stay supports our work. Winter lodging.... It can get seasonably cold in the Santa Cruz Mountains during the winter. If visiting in the winter, rest assured we have everything covered to enjoy your stay. We have propane heaters in all main spaces for your comfort. If the power goes out, we have a standby generator that will power up camp provided we are home to turn it on. We have a woodstoves in the Owl's Nest and Eagle's Nest. We provide a fire starter log for each woodstove for each night of your stay, and guests are responsible for bringing firewood to keep the woodstoves going for continued warmth throughout each evening.

Wow! What a treat. The Creek Site is private, quiet, and so peaceful. We travel with a little one, and we felt safe and comfortable the whole time. The short hike from the site to the creek was the perfect challenge for the kiddo's little legs. We were immersed in nature and lulled to sleep by the sound of the creek below, but the property was also just a short drive to nearby amenities and attractions. (We couldn't miss the steam train in Felton.) Doug was very communicative and friendly. We will definitely come back.

Great secluded spot in the redwoods! You’ll have the nice cleared wooded area to yourselves. We stayed at campsite 1 up top. Campsite 2 is about a mile down the dirt road closer to the creek. It’s a nice hike down and gets pretty steep at the end. There are no toilets, but well water. We had no problem driving our 2 wheel drive camper van there. Just the camping we like. Beautiful woodsy area and just us! Nice hosts, we’ll be back!

We had the most incredible time at Redwood Basin HipCamp! The A-frame has absolutely amazing views, and the container setup was perfect with a clean restroom, great shower, and a super comfortable sleeping space. The Airstream was cute, fun, and such a unique touch. Our kids loved pitching a tent as well right on the property, and the outdoor kitchen was one of our favorite parts, beautifully stocked and so easy to cook in. The outdoor shower and bath tucked into the redwoods is truly unmatched… such a peaceful, unforgettable experience. And the trampoline in the middle of the trees? So fun! Our whole family had a blast. To top it all off, the host was wonderful, responsive, helpful, and made everything feel easy. We can’t recommend Redwood Basin enough. We’ll definitely be back!

What an amazing place!! Super clean, great views of the strawberry fields, clean Porto potty to use (was serviced day before we arrived), and the hosts were super friendly. Robin made us cookies and gave us fresh eggs from their chickens. Lots of privacy between the 3 camp sites available. Couldn’t have been happier! The beach is only an 8 min walk away and what a phenomenal beach. Dog friendly and super quiet, perfect spot to go surfing and/or watch the surfers. Soft sand and people are friendly. Would definitely recommend to a friend and will be back soon.

We really enjoyed our stay here! The campsite is spacious, private, and wonderfully quiet — exactly what we were looking for. Our anxious dog actually slept better here than at any other campsite we’ve been to, which says a lot. He didn’t wake up every few minutes to check the surroundings; he was completely at peace. A couple of things to note: the kitchen area could use a bit of attention. Also, make sure to arrive before dark. The driveway is very steep, but my 2WD was able to make it with careful driving. Overall, a beautiful and peaceful spot, and we would definitely come back!

Very peaceful. John is a great host. He took time to meet me upon my arrival and ensure I got into my spot ok. Site #1 was perfect for my travel trailer. I was able to pull right in and get set up easily without having to back up my trailer. The grounds are very well maintained and there is lots of open area to walk my dog. It is mostly under the trees. I do have solar and although I don’t think it was able to charge, I had plenty of power for my 4 night stay so it was not an issue for me. I would definitely stay there again.

About

Set at the edge of Santa Cruz, Natural Bridges State Beach draws a variety of day visitors who come to marvel at its natural wonders. Best known for the picturesque sea arches (only one of three still stand), the 65-acre park and beach offer excellent lookout spots for viewing marine mammals, including migrating whales. Come at low tide for easy access to the tide pools, or peer through binoculars to observe herons and egrets stalking the salt marsh. Natural Bridges is a day-use park only, but a beachfront campground is available nearby at New Brighton State Beach.

When to go

Natural Bridges State Beach is open daily from 8am to sunset, and the Visitor Center is open Friday to Monday, 11am to 4pm. Docents offer a close-up look at colorful sea anemones and sea stars during low tides. Time your visit for late fall into winter to see thousands of monarchs, which overwinter here in the eucalyptus grove. While the butterflies may safely roost in the trees until spring, they typically begin arriving in mid-October and leave by mid-February, or even as early as January. The Migration Festival takes place on the second Saturday in February.

  • Leashed dogs are only allowed on pavement and in the picnic area, not on the beach or trails (except for service animals).
  • Tables, barbecues, water faucets, and restroom facilities are available in the picnic area. Fires are not allowed on the beach.
  • The boardwalk leading to the monarch observation deck is wheelchair- and stroller-accessible, but it is closed to bicycles, skates, and skateboards.
  • Please do not touch or otherwise harm the fragile monarch butterflies.
  • Do not touch or take anything in the tide pools, which are within a Marine Protected Area.
