Weekend Trip to Timber Cove Campground

Amazing Experience at Timber Cove Hipcamp. The Up Top site is very private and has epic views. You can walk to a small private beach, great for fishing, kayaking and SUP on calm days. Easy 5 minute walk to timber cove resort for breakfast, lunch and dinner plus a full bar. Fort Ross store 5 minutes down the road has everything you need with deli options. Ideal getaway close to the Bay area. Thanks Katarina for being a great host.

Brenda was such a gracious host! The campsites were clean and it was nice to have bathrooms and showers! The views were incredible and we can’t wait to come back with our friends!

This is a lovely, level spot overlooking the coastal trees (but not quite the ocean). There is a large, level parking area and some wooden lounge chairs in a clearing, with a picnic bench and several tent spots. The approach is on a gravel road and then a gravel track, well-described in the listing. The location itself is wonderfully quiet. I heardbirdsong in the fog each morning. One should be aware that there are no amenities (water/toilet etc.), and no fire pit, all of which was fine with me as a self-contained van camper. Just down the road, the center of Pt Arena is a small town with store, movie theater, etc. Visiting the coastal towns was easy from Pt. Arena. All in all, a lovely experience that I would happily come back to!

1 night at Ariana Acres

Great romantic cozy yurt, fully stocked. This site would be amazing for a family reunion as there’s are 4 yurts on a hill, with a hammock and a community kitchen. The gallons of water in the cooler were very useful to us as there’s no water hook up onsite. We arrived after dark and didn’t realize the toilet was a bucket with compost until the next morning. If I had known how well equipped this place was I would’ve prepared to cook here. Unfortunately we left quickly to eat something in a drive through. I’ll remember this place and hopefully come back as I pass through this area often.

Weekend Trip to The Hideaway at Hole In The Wall

What a fun and unique spot! Campsite was great, had so many extra amenities and Thomas & crew were so friendly and knowledgeable about the land. Not secluded from other campers which we were fine with but just to note. The water is about a 5-10 minute walk and a little steep/unsteady in some areas. We were fine but just something to note. My dog LOVED the area too - very dog friendly! Definitely planning on coming back and exploring more of this beautiful area.

What a trip, in all ways. Thomas, the owner and caretaker are fabulous humans full of great stories! It was amazing to have our dogs off-leash which is most important to us. The sites are under development and looking great with a ton of potential. The bridge was a challenge (20ft trailer) but we managed just fine. We had a blast and left with some amazing memories. Looking forward to our next trip.

Beautiful setting, very peaceful, many little details made for a comfortable stay. Outdoor, kitchen, fire pit, hammock, and lots of places to relax. No place to shower on site. But there is a spring within driving distance that made for a nice shower in the afternoon.

We had such a wonderful stay at Bluff 10! The site was peaceful and perfectly set up for a relaxing getaway. We loved listening to the waves, sitting on the deck watching the sunset, and playing at the beach access. The bathroom facilities are located directly behind the Bluff 10 campsite. While there was occasional foot traffic, other campers were very respectful and noise was minimal. Just be prepared for the bright light that turns on when someone enters the women’s restroom at night. We also had a couple of nighttime visits from a very bold (but manageable) raccoon—just be mindful to secure your food, trash, and recycling! Brenda, the host, was helpful and easy to communicate with. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a few nights of ocean therapy. We will definitely be visits again in the future.

Truly the best campsite ever! To be so close to the ocean was unbelievable. Small site but totally worked for us. So happy the landowners share their wonderful property with all of us. We will definitely be back!! Only disappointment was the portable toilet. It was dirty and needed to be emptied.

Located right off coastal US highway 1, Timber Cove campground sits right at the edge of breathtaking, oceanside cliffs. We are situated on roughly two acres of land, with multiple campsites for tent/car camping or RV’s. Each bluff campsite has a picnic table, fire pit and water. Electricity is available to use for an extra fee. The beach and waterfall campsites do not have picnic tables so you might want to bring one if you’ve booked there. We have separate men’s and women’s flush bathrooms, with coin-operated hot showers. We have firewood with kindling for sale on site, payable with cash or Venmo. Please take note of local fire bans, when in effect. Dog friendly, though be advised a leash is recommended as we are close to the road, but they can run leash-free down at the beach. We are located 30 minutes north of the town of Jenner, with Gualala 30 minutes to the north. Gualala has grocery stores, a post office, and some shops. Fort Ross Store is located one mile down the road, just before Timber Cove, and sells basic food necessities, drinks, sandwiches, ice and gas. Internet cell service can be spotty in our area, depending on your provider, so bring your own Starlink services if you have them. We also have access to the beach below, and offer beach camping as well. Take note that the road down to the beach is steep with uneven terrain. The weather can vary quickly here, so be sure to bring multiple layers of clothing and camp gear for various types of weather, and headlamps are useful for getting around the property at night! The coastal bike and hike trails are many. From South of Ft Bragg to the Sand Dunes near Ward Ave. you can travel over 7 miles one way and go down to quiet little beach coves along the way. Meadow Farm is a nonprofit 501c3 with goals of coastal food security, disaster preparation and sheltering, carbon sequestering and forest restoration. We offer native plant tours on or off site with advance notice. We like our dog companions! Two McNab collies, Moxie and Shama live here and may bark at first...still very friendly and social with people and other dogs.. There are several dog friendly off-leash areas such as, Noyo North Harbor Beach, Seaside Beach and dog parks in both Ft Bragg and Mendocino. Our farm is dog friendly tho we wish pets to be kept close, must be neutered and friendly to other dogs and people. Please be sure to bury or bag the waste. Speaking of waste, Meadow Farm strives to reduce waste by avoiding plastic as much as possible, recycling what we can and composting our veggie scraps. Please bring your own waste receptacles and take them along when you go. We take ours to the Caspar Transfer Station which is open Saturday through Wednesday... the location and hours can be found online. Our water is from a deep well and we periodically test it for bacteria. It is cold and delicious. Our irrigation pipes that have spigots and hoses at each camp are safe for drinking, cooking and cleaning. Our solar pump moves water into storage tanks that provide all the water to the farm. It is very important that the water valves on your camp spigot is turned off (gently please) to avoid losing 2500 gallons of water in a short time. If you see a leak or break in a line please contact us immediately. There are also water shut offs for the camps on the west side of the Farm House if you are unable to reach us right away.. When doing dishes we request that you use the strainer to catch food particles from the dish water and toss them in your trash or compost bucket. If you have vegetable waste let us know and we can pick them up for adding to the worm bins or composting piles. We make worm "tea" fertilizer and rich soil from these offerings. No animal products or oil please... a few egg shells are okay. We do have the usual wildlife though we haven't had problems with them. Ravens will raid your camp if food or bags are left out while you are away. From dusk to dawn keep children and pets close. We coexist well here with the critters...and glad to have them. Huckleberry Haven

Huckleberry Haven currently features TWO sites: FIRST is the Camp Deck for your tents in the forest. Pitch your tent on a dry and flat redwood deck. Surrounded by huckleberries (in season July-Nov), fir, pine and redwood trees and adjacent to Salt Point State Park and Kruse Rhododendron State Preserve. Deck site has basic amenities: potable well water, fire ring (PROPANE only, bring your own fire ring, as we are now in fire season), picnic table, and an outhouse. SECOND is the RV/Van camping parking spot. (no tents) This site is near the top of our grassy meadow, with glorious forest views, on dry gravel, and features a picnic table & outhouse. It does not have a campfire facility, nor water. You're welcome to bring your own propane fire & cooking source, but NO open wood fires due to grassy fire hazards. Property is situated at 800' above sea level (usually above the fog) across the road from the Stump Beach trailhead in Salt Point State Park - which, from our driveway, is a 2 mile hike or bike ride down to the beach. Enjoy quiet solitude of one of the most private and quiet places on the Sonoma Coast. Avoid the crowds of Salt Point, with all the basic amenities you expect. Birdwatch, play frisbee golf, hunt for mushrooms, basecamp your hikes, runs or mountain bike rides in Salt Point, or use Huckleberry Haven as the central spot to innumerable road bike rides on empty roads. The choice is yours! Special note: Huckleberry Haven is on the edge of some great wilderness! We have all sorts of wildlife sauntering by, and certainly have for decades. We recommend taking precautions to avoid interacting with curious/hungry wildlife - Don't sleep with your food in the tent, and keep camp tidy! We know there to be black bears, mountain lions, bobcats, foxes, racoons, skunks and so forth. Mountain Lions tend to avoid us, but you'll want to check on best practices to avoid bear interactions. So rich in history and so much to do, or do nothing at all. BBQ on the grill, or sizzle on the griddle. Enjoy a great time off grid in the country in sunny northern California. Ariana Acres is a wellness resort in the making. We are still in development, and while we have worked to develop each site, we are still in the process of getting the water system in place for each site to have running water, a shower and flushing toilets. This magnificent 660-acre park is situated off scenic Highway 128. As you explore this 11-mile tunnel to the sea, you might spot blacktail deer frolicking in a second growth redwood forest.

The water is inviting, too. Kayakers and canoers dip their paddles in the winter and spring. Summer is the best time for swimmers— there's both salt and freshwater areas here.

This park is also popular with anglers, both human and winged alike. The prime pickings make it a fave for river going birds such as the belted kingfisher.

Not Sure Why this Page says Pets No Allowed. The Park Brochure says this: Pets must be under immediate physical control at all times. Dogs must be on a leash no more than six feet long and confined in a tent or vehicle at night.

Your shirtless host reporting on Navarro river Redwood S.P. The Navarro Beach camp ground is 1st. come 1st. served w/no water and flushing toilet. Very primitives need to bring your own water. But don't let this stop you from going to this camp it is an experience you do not want to miss. The Paul Mimmick campground is a popular camp ground along the Navarro river. The 26 camp sites @ this park is in the Redwood Grove along the river. The day use is right on the rivers bank. You can park right at day use. Make sure you call this park can close @ times because of high water. Make amazing memories and camp @ all the all the S.P.in the Mendocino area. Your shirtless host Steve

Stopped by...boo. Campsites on top of one another,in a state of disrepair. Head north just past Ft. Bragg to MacKerricher S.P. Waaay nicer and peaceful setting. Hit site 2 or 6 of the walk in sites for nice seclusion and easy walk to beach or tidepools.
