Butterfly Breathe. Slow way down. Enjoy. Please read this Description in entirety. We are so delighted to share this spot with you. This is a shared campground with 3 separate spots that are relatively private. Host will NOT be there when you arrive unless prior arrangement made. This campground is yours to enjoy. The expectation is 'leave it better than before so the next guests may enjoy! This is camping. BRING YOUR OWN GEAR. Put your own linens and bedding on top of what is already on bed. I can provide linens and bedding for an extra $25 for glamping spots. Beds have pillows on them. There is wildlife. This includes bears and mountain lions in the area. You will not see either but good to be aware they exist. This is a safe 'neighborhood'. We do not have problems with thievery. However, always keep your valuables safe IN YOUR CAR. There is no Power. No WiFi. Cell phone coverage not guaranteed. Depends on your carrier. DOWNLOAD DIRECTIONS AND INFO BEFORE ARRIVING TO SITE. There is Poison Oak. Stay in the designated areas. If you are susceptible, bring and wash with Tecnu. Or use dish soap and wash. Poison oak is an oil. Most importantly: Don't Touch. No Fires allowed during Summer months. Be super careful. No candles. Smoke in fire pit area. Grass is a tinderbox. 1 spark can ignite all. There is a hose connected to kitchen. There is a Pet Fee stay. 1 pet per site allowed unless prior arrangement made. You are responsible to clean up after your pet and to make sure pet is safe and respectful to neighbors. This means you DO NOT leave your pet unattended, and is leashed at all times. If your pet is barking continuously, we ask that you leave. It is not respectful for all other neighbors. Please bring your own bed for your dogs and clean up after a shedding dog if you are indoors. We ask that guests clean up your camping spot upon departure to 'make the place better than before' for the next guests. Butterfly Landing is a sweet landing spot! Birds, butterflies and small wildlife love this spot. The habitat includes many native species of plant life. A pretty knoll that is on the top of a 40 acre property. Views of vineyards, redwood trees, valley floor, and expansive sky. Private, Quiet and beautiful. A central sunny meadow ties together 3 distinct private areas with a communal kitchen, bath-house, picnic-table sitting area and parking on the side. There is 1 outhouse that has a mailbox system to ensure privacy. (Please read manual on picnic table for instructions) Kitchen. 2 burner propane stove, and sink with running water (cold). (Good for drinking. Pressure is low) There is basic cooking and dishware. Cleaning supplies. A Trash and Recycle Bin. And a Compost bucket where all food scraps should be disposed of and then covered with wood-chips. Kitchen should stay clean at all times. Please put dishes away in the tote to keep clean and critter free. Bath-house. Shower with hot water. 1 shared Outhouse. Please use the path that goes to the outhouse (unless you are in the Greenroom) and make sure you put the mailbox red flag up so that others know it is occupied. ((Then don't forget to put it back down!!) Common sitting area. There are 2 picnic tables, Lots of umbrellas that can be moved wherever, a fire pit/table and lots of seating. Parking. There are room for 3 vehicles. Parking is to be in designated parking area please. Sunny meadow and forest shade make this a lovely landing spot to relax and enjoy nature, and a great opportunity to turn off those cell phones!! Butterfly Landing is about 1/2 mile from HWY 128 that runs through Anderson Valley. This location is the perfect location for it all. Wine tasting in the Valley, Navarro River swimming during the summer months, and the Mendocino coast is nearby. This is an Honor system camping spot. We ask that you leave your spot 'better than before', as in 'Leaver no Trace'. I rely on everyone to do their part in the communal kitchen to keep clean and free of critters. SUPER IMPORTANT to put all food scraps in the compost bin. NO food anything in the trash. This is how the bears show up. Please do your part. Thank you so much. Vineyard View Camping spot is a beautiful, shady camp spot in the trees with sweeping Vineyard views. Ideal for friends of family tent camping. The area has a layer of wood chips and has a clearly defined boundary area with a path leading to the spot. There is space for several tents. There is a sitting area with chairs and a table. A reading cot. A Hammock. Vineyard view is at the very top of the Butterfly Landing. We ask that you stay on the wood-chipped area as Poison Oak is one of the flourishing native plants.

BlueBell Is a Glamping Tent that sits on a beautiful deck in the sunniest and lower part of the meadow. It is private with lovely views. This is a standard glamping bell tent for 2 people that features a queen sized bed. Bring your own linens and bedding. Please leave Bluebell tent just as you found it when you depart.. Add Pet fee in Extras if you are bringing a pet..$20.00 per pet. Permission required for more than 1 pet. A double futon is also available for extra guests upon request. Add extra guests in booking. Linens and bedding can be rented for $25 in the Extras. Bluebell is the furthest from the campground facilities (50 yards) and therefore the most private. There is a cart to carry gear down the hill. Parking is in the designated parking area at the top. Do not drive down. Common area includes the kitchen, picnic tables, sitting area and the bathhouse with a hot outdoor shower. There is 1 outhouse for the Butterfly Campground. The Bluebell tent is the most spacious and is a lovely hangout to read, do yoga, or just relax in nature. The lower meadow in particular has various native flowers and plants. Please be aware that poison oak is also an important native plant that provides habitat for wildlife and is abundant everywhere. Stay on the paths that we have created for your safety. Please note the tent has a sprinkling of black spots/stains on the outside which is from Oak-tree duff, the material the Native Americans (Pomos) used to make Black dye in this area. We learned to not have our tent under Oak trees, but it is totally harmless. This is a very quiet and private spot, however, the car traffic from 128, sometimes can be heard, especially on the weekends. Just a heads up. We are so happy to share this land and host you. It is truly a special landing spot. Enjoy all.

The Green Room is a small and delightful (cabin) room with a view of the valley. The Green Room is small (2 people), private and is the closest to the Parking area, common area, kitchen and outhouse. A tent could be pitched on the adjacent area for family or friends. This is a sweet, sunny spot with a perfect view from bed for morning coffee or night time gazing. Big Sky. The Green Room is a bring your own linens and bedding accommodation (Double bed) but linens can be arranged for an extra fee with prior arrangement. (Go to Extras) Pet fee is $25.00 per per pet. Add in to Extras. Permission needed for more than 1 dog. This spot is the most accessible to all amenities. Please be advised there is poison oak in this habitat. Stay in designated areas.

Vineyard View Camping Spot
The place is great! We camped on the vineyard view spot and enjoyed every minute of it. It is definitely more of “glamping” than camping, even if you choose the tent site. The hot shower in the morning was nice. We did’t cook, but the kitchen area and the stove are sufficient for making a decent dinner. The fire pit at the gathering spot was sufficient for making smores for kids. There is poison oak on the property, but it’s nothing major, where we felt it was safe for kids to walk as long as they understood what the plant looks like. Highly recommended!

Had a great night at the Bluebell tent! Very cute a clean. The site was perfect with the shared kitchen and hot shower. Kira was very communicative and helpful the whole time. Will definitely be back!

The Green Room
The value for the experience was mixed – the location is convenient and the nature is beautiful. Definitely more comfortable than a tent. However, I would consider charging less. The Green Room is not worth over $100 per night in my view. The Green Room is truly just a shed with a bed inside it. Nothing wrong with this, but just to manage expectations – other reviewers describe it as "a gorgeous greenhouse site" which is an exaggeration. The site is shared with other campsites, which is totally normal and fine. However, the room has no sound insulation and sound carries well. So just note, you definitely need earplugs as others onsite (in our case) were up partying until midnight. One final note is there is no door on the outhouse, so if another camper wants to use the outhouse at the same time you have to shout or make yourself known. In summary – a fine place to sleep! But not worth over $100.

Very peaceful site, easy to locate, just far enough from everything. The space itself was very clean, cozy, and put together nicely. The outhouse was very clean, and easy to access. The showers got nice and hot and gave you a nice view of nature.

Vineyard View Camping Spot
We had an amazing stay at Butterfly Landing at Vineyard View and would 100% recommend it! The views overlooking the vineyard were absolutely beautiful, and the entire property felt peaceful, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed. We camped in our tent and loved having access to the shared outdoor kitchen, which was shared between just three sites. The other accommodations—a gorgeous greenhouse site and a yurt-style tent—were both beautiful as well. The composting outhouse was clean and easy to use (“one scoop, one poop!”), and there was even a clever mailbox system with a flag to indicate when it was occupied. One of my favorite parts was the outdoor shower—there’s something so wonderful about being surrounded by nature while enjoying a hot shower under the open sky. The campfire and cookout area were fantastic gathering spaces. On our first night, we met two wonderful ladies who had also attended the 30th Annual Husch Picnic. We enjoyed making a craft together and left behind a colorful lantern that lights up in the evening for future guests to enjoy. A special thank you to Kira, who was incredibly kind, helpful, and genuinely one of the nicest hosts we’ve met. Her warmth made our stay even more memorable. We had such a wonderful experience and are already looking forward to coming back!

The Bluebell Tent was super cozy. We sat a the little deck and watched the stars. The directions were clear and Kira was very communicative. All around great spot.

Had a great time at Butterfly Landing. Beautiful land, easy to get to and close enough by multiple attractions. Kira was so accommodating, calling all the way from Alaska and when there was a little issue at camp she even offered her house. A very gracious host

We loved staying at Butterfly landing. Each of the accommodations is unique and fit to take advantage of this lovely spot. Kira has provided so many thoughtful touches to make your stay comfortable and easy. Next time we'll look forward to relaxing for longer at the Butterfly Landing to enjoy the beauty and peacefulness.

The Green Room
The campsite was great. We stayed in the Green Room but walked around the entire property and cannot recommend it enough. It is quiet and feels like you’re right in the forest. The Green Room was big free and had a comfortable bed for 2! We opted to add in wood and unfortunately it was wet but Kira was kind enough to refund us after we were unable to light a fire. Kira was great with communication and questions. This is the perfect site to go enjoy the vineyards of Anderson Valley.

The bed was comfy and dry in the changeable weather. The view of the stars and the vineyard were wonderful with the fall colors. Bring a towel if you want to use the shower, and an led lamp.

This hipcamp is truly wonderful! The vineyard view camp site is great and the whole camp has all the things you would need - a picnic table, a fun (and warm) outdoor shower, and a clean outhouse. Loved staying here and would go back!

Vineyard View Camping Spot
Kira has created a lovely little experience in the heart of the Anderson Valley. My wife and I stayed at the Vineyard View tent site and by some stroke of luck we had the entire property to ourselves for the entire long weekend. The amenities are all on point and everything has been thought of. The property is located close to many wineries and restaurants so there are a lot of things to do. If you're van camping you won't be able to park directly at the tent camp site but will park in the common parking area but there is plenty of space and the sites have a good amount of privacy.

The Green Room
My wife and I stayed in the green room. It was a cute space to sleep. The outdoor shower was roomy and had nice hot water. When we stayed, none of the other sites were booked so we had the shower, bathroom, and kitchen to ourselves.

Kira’s Butterfly Camp is a great place for campers to leave urban and suburban stress behind by relaxing in a beautiful natural setting. We especially liked glamping in the large tent. Her place has resources that make it a comfortable intro to camping in nature for those not used to doing so. Kira was very helpful providing information and suggestions both before and during our stay.

Nice view of the stars from the main clearing area! It was super peaceful and perfect spot for tent camping that gave privacy. Loved the sink stations for easy access to handwashing and plenty of space to relax. The weather was very nice with cool roads to help with the hotter summer weather. Located in a great spot where you can feel secluded in nature, but still be within distance to the local towns. Enjoyed being there during the Mendocino Apple Harvest Festival and enjoyed all of the small town festivities that came with it. From the rodeo, to the fair, local eats, church service, car show and parade, and star gazing it was a perfect location for a small getaway to say goodbye to summer. Kira was very accommodating as well and welcoming when it came to arrival and departure times. We're grateful for the leniency of our timeline that allowed for us to explore the local spots.

Kira’s spot in the Anderson Valley is beautiful. Conveniently located near Philo(and its amazing Jumbo’s WinWin), cool Apple farms, and plenty of wineries. The site had all of the necessary amenities and was clean and tidy. The view of the vineyard through the trees was very serene. I’d definitely come back next time I travel through Mendocino.

Review: Kira was an incredibly accommodating and helpful host, and her property was truly amazing. The setting provided a genuine camping experience, complete with a true outhouse and a charming forest shower—easy to use and refreshing, even if the water pressure wasn’t very strong. The outdoor kitchen was handy and included some useful cooking tools. We stayed with our rooftop tent and were the only campers that night, which made it peaceful and quiet, aside from the occasional sound of neighbors driving in and out. One thing to note: the path to the property is steep and unpaved. It wasn’t a problem during our stay, but it could be challenging in wet weather, so future guests may want to keep that in mind. Overall, we had a great stay and appreciated the unique, rustic experience.

Lovely rustic bohemian campsite
Bluebell Glamping Tent
Lovely Rustic bohemian camp site. We rented all three spots with friends and had a great time together. Things to know: the night sky is amazing, there is a simple outdoor shared kitchen, bathroom is private but without door (it didn’t smell but no door was a surprise to our friends), while there is plenty of seating some of the options have seen better days, we heard coyotes and saw birds and butterflies. We live an hour away and would love to come back to stay again.

Me and my family had a peaceful camping experience here. Easy to find private spot tucked into the forest. I enjoyed the outdoor shower and rustic outdoor kitchen. Kira was friendly and communicative. Would definitely stay again!

Peaceful and quiet, easy to find, helpful and responsive host. Close to redwoods and wineries. It is off grid but I had good Verizon service here. The sky at night was absolutely incredible and the outdoor hot shower was lovely and steamy. Would stay again!
